Clearly the Supreme Court considers themselves above the law. Isn't that ironic? Sadly it's the truth though, that the justices have arrogantly put themselves high above the law.
Although, it wouldn't solve the problem right now.
It needs to be abolished entirely. Its function is purely to give the ruling class who decides their appointments, the final say of laws in the land, that is nearly impossible to remove from office, and is appointed for life. Same with the electoral college. Ostensibly it is to protect states without many people from being ruled by those who had most of the people, which is a funny way of saying the people don't *really* get to have the final say over how the country is run- a handful of land owning white people or corporations running the majority of those states get an unreasonable amount of power over the outcome of elections.
All politicians need a 2 term limit. Nancy Pelosi and Gavin Newsome have done enough damage.

The three branches of government are co-equal and none of them are exempt from following the law. One branch cannot have immunity if they are to be equal. The Supreme Court better get this one right. They've done enough damage already.
They are getting it right. The left is upset because they don't have control of WH, Senate, and SCOTUS.
But they DO have immunity from certain things. I’m not saying they should all have immunity from criminal prosecution (except when national security is at stake, or the ability to uphold their oaths) but all 3 branches enjoy some level of immunity.
The question isn’t whether or not government officials should have immunity. It’s WHAT SPECIFICALLY should they be granted immunity for?

When you realize that Gorsuch, Kavanagh and Barrett were put on the SCOTUS bench while Cannon was put on the Federal Court bench in Southern FL ... not because they were the best candidates for the actual job of judges but because they were the best candidates to protect Trump ... it becomes understandable.

Trump's Lawyers also argued that in order to guard against political prosecutions, you should first be prosecuted by politicians.

How stupid was the justices' idea of determining immunity based on separating official actions from unofficial actions. A president could color any action as official, as demonstrated by some hypotheticals that were asked by Justice Sotomayor. Also, this would mean that everyone who was involved in a criminal conspiracy could be criminally convicted, except the president. Another crazy idea was that a law would only apply to the president if congress made the law explicitly state that it would also apply to the president.

The Supreme Court is now a political branch of government and may as well change with every new administration at this point. We're supposed to have 3 equal branches of government but 2 of them change every 2 to 4 years and only one is for life. How is that equal? We vote for Presidents and members of Congress and they are political.... Supreme Court justices are appointed by those same Presidents and confirmed by Congress.. When those Presidents and members of Congress leave, those appointments remain. In essence, the majority party in the Supreme Court remains in a branch of government that literally controls the law with the power to overturn the President and Congress, both during and after they leave. Again, how is that equal? Yes, the SCOTUS isn't supposed to be political, but it clearly is and we have no solution to change that.

The decision to take the case at all is completely absurd. If Presidents can do whatever they want with full immunity, then Biden can just declare Trump ineligible to run for office and then indefinitely suspend the Supreme Court.
In all actuality it really would Not be a bad idea to rein in the Administrative State, because in alot of ways it has gone beyond its intended authority and purpose, in multiple ways, and in alot of ways, has gained way more power than our elected lawmakers, and those career people in those Administrative departments are Not accountable to the voters, and that is also a big problem, because they create, shape, and promote policies, that are in some ways detrimental to the citizens, to businesses, to the economy, and to our national security, etc. So at least curtailing and/or limiting the power of the Administrative State would be a good start. There are only 3 legitimate branches of government, which are the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial.
