That interview where Trump refuses to give an honest answer and ends up siting down on his desk and pretending to be busy to get the reporter to leave him alone looks like something out of The Office. Even the way it`s shot, with the camera awkwardly lingering on Trump as he fumbles whit his papers is spot on.

I have rarely laughed louder than the part where the word for word reading of his speech was done.
Every time I come back to it, I lose another 5 IQ points. Like, I ramble and lose the thread all the time. I have a thought cross my mind while monologing, fail to voice that one thought, and continue onward like I actually said it. And even then, half of that direct Trump quote could be completely thrown out and it would still get the point across while still being incoherent, because he keeps repeating himself.

Rewatching this, I remember how concerned I was, and how unhappy I was, about the fact that I didn't know if I was about to deploy or not. That situation with Korea was the icing of the cake. He may have been "trolling" the media, but they certainly weren't thinking about the troops and how he was toying with our futures and emotions, wondering if we were about to go to war. Disgusting.

I was on the USS Ardent watching the election of 2016 and was amazed that, after all the talks about “build a wall” and that John McCain is a “loser because he was captured,” people onboard still rooted for him and cheered when he got elected.

He appointed dozens of great judges to various levels of federal court and takes a strong stance on immigration. His tax plan is mostly good and would do wonders for American economic growth. I'll admit he has a billion flaws and he's often a nasty, vain, unintelligent buffoon on his God- forsaken Twitter account, but he's making good on my expectations for him as President. Not perfect, but he does the job I voted him in for.

Also, did you even read his tax plan? He wants to simplify brackets and lower taxes for the middle and lower classes. The business tax goes from around 35% to 20% actually making America competitive with other countries. We have the highest business tax in the industrialized world. So what happens when businesses decide to come back because they cam afford it (and we're their biggest market)? Lower taxes manages to bring in more tax revenue.

The Commander in Chief presided over a rally at Capitol that resulted in a riot that came close to abducting and possibly killing members of Congress, in order to prevent his successor from taking office. Whether or not he "incited" it, he was there as the Commander of the armed forces and executive branch, and did absolutely nothing to stop it. He was derelict in his duty, and failed to intervene... That's the most generous interpretation of events for Trump. An entirely reasonable interpretation would be that he wanted it to happen, and actively encouraged it up until the moment it became untenable. Ignoring every event between 2016 and December 2020, this incident is enough to disqualify him in perpetuity from holding any public office. Inexcusable. The Republican party made it clear that they are pathetic and spineless after continuing to support Trump after January 6th 2021.

Philosophy is mandatory in high school in many countries.. Here in Portugal you have philosophy in 10th grade as one of the basic mandatory classes.
Hue: Yeah absolutely, critical thinking skills are something that needs to be strongly emphasized as well. In the same vein, I think there needs to be a change in how people view arguments as having a winner and a loser. It's not about winning, it's about making sure that your opinions and beliefs accurately reflect the real world, and we need to be able to adjust our views when new evidence presents itself.
Aziraphale686, I agree. I also think it needs to be made very clear that _disagreement_ and _disrespect_ are two very different things. Too many people seem to regard someone having an opinion they don't as some form of insult. It makes having an exchange of ideas really difficult.
And there's also the fact that, depending on the context you first learn about something in, it could mean something very different to you than to someone else. If you get your news from the kinds of placed Hue Manatee mentioned, you're practically speaking a different language from people who get their news elsewhere.

I've had ObamaCare since inception , ALL I do is pay for my own healthcare plan with my own money AND I work full time 40+ hours a week.
Obamacare gives a credit amount but I just end up paying nearly all of it back at tax time.
I pay around $160 a month with the lowest tier bronze plan and then I pay more at tax time around $600-700 taken out of my taxes.
Obama , Hillary , Donald , they're all in the same boat man they just appear to be opposing each other but they're not.
My job has somehow found a loophole to label (full time) workers as flex pay , so they don't have to pay healthcare even though I average more than 40+ hours a week for years.
I think it's cheaper for my work to pay the penalty for not offering health benefits to full time workers than actually providing health care package for full time workers.
While most of you useful idiots are buying all the brainwashing on network late night shows , Obama, Hillard and Trump are laughing their way to the banks.
Trump's plan is just gonna mirror Obama's with some different wording in it , but it's nothing more than a big cash grab.
Say I offer you a car for $1,000 , but it's real value is $500, but I don't tell you that and there is no way for you to know that (work with me here this just an example) .
And I offer you a $500 credit towards the car if you pay installments , so now the car is only $500 cost with a credit from me of $500 , but with the clause you have to pay portion of that credit out of your taxes at the end of the year.
So let's say you pay off the car at $500 by the end of the year but you have to pay a portion of the "Credit" (obamacare) back to me at the end of the year. sO YOU END up paying $300 back out of the $500 credit towards the $1,000 car.
So you end up paying $800 for a $500 valued car under the guise of "help from OBAMA/TRUMP/Hillary care . You're under the impression that you're getting help from ObamaCare but really it's a just a clever way to tack on added cost to healthcare under the guises "healthcare for all".
Makes sense yet ? It's just a cash grab.

Whataboutism is a subset of the argumentum ad hominem, also known as the Tu Quoque argument, which is LITERALLY a logical fallacy. It does not actually constitute a sound argument.
the media has long been hated in the states, way before trump. I would argue that the left have been far more guilty/successful of delegitimizing their opposition. This is why you see conservatives voices routinely censored in academia and entertainment.
