I used to make these squash/smash mini's all the time (back in the 90's) and gave some away for gifts! I carried one around with me back in 2000 because I put pictures of my son and us after we went to see his graduate from Basic Training in Jacksonville, SC. I adore these smash albums. They are so much fun to make too. I also made my son one to send when he was deployed. I put pictures of his wife and my granddaughter as well as us. A little bit of home for him while he was so far away from us all. I course this was all before score boards. lol So we folded our paper back then. I also did the backs of the paper too, or the back of the book. Gave me more room for pictures. Your book came out so cute Amy!

***** I think he did! He always loves things I make him. He keeps his cards sitting around him at home. I love that he does that, make me feel like he appreciates them.

I remember making some of these years ago but I used 12 x 12 paper which gave larger areas for photos. They are fun to make!
Just finished doing this... after doing 2 of the One Sheet Mini Flip Album Brag Book... I had a great time and my albums look awesome ! Thank you so much for sharing those fun projects... Love them all

I made several of these when my daughter in law was preg so ALL the grands and great grands would have a brag book for the birthing "EVENT" and used one entire paper pad and I forgot how to make it so this was a wonderful refresher. TFS! you do a great job on all your videos!

I also saw a slight damp cloth rubbed across the folds on heavy paper keeps from tearing. love this tutorial thanks

Maymay, I made a squash card for my nephew's 1st Communion and it was a hit with him, his mom, and his grandmother! They were super-amazed and impressed! We're making plans to get together over the summer to make squash cards for Christmas! Thank you for your wonderful video!

Hey Maymay, I learned a great thing the other day. My sweetie worked in the printing industry for a looong time. He said, always score with the grain, and cut against it. When I remember to check for the grain, before I dive in, my projects always come out better. Of course this is scored both ways. But that's the reason it's easier to get the diagonal fold somtimes. When it doesn't want to go the way you want, try turning it the other way. It might be more willing to go without a fight. Hugs, Jess

+cherylynn927 it will probably help to score both sides of the cardstock. It that doesn't help, just ink the lines to cover the white and the liquid will help the cracking to be less obvious. Hope that helps

How cute! Accu Cut just released a "Napkin Fold" card, but when you open it up, there is no room for pictures and tiny adorable little decorations like yours. It looks so cool when you open it up, but all you see are a bunch of triangles. This is a thousand times more fun and super cute, I just love it!

I'm not a paper crafter, but I absolutely want to try this. I don't have card stock, but I do have some thick paper I use for signs so I will try that. Thank you!
This squash book would be a great way to scrapbook a lot of pictures but still only have a 2 page layout. I ususlly go way overboard with my Christmas photos. So I could use this book to put lots of pictures in, then have it in a pocket on the 2 page layout. Just have my few favorite pictures on the main pages then all the rest in this cute little book :)

+Lamya 1234 I think these two projects hold about the same so I would pick the one that seems easiest for you. That way you will enjoy the process.
Hi Maymay, I used card stock for the 8x8 squares and when I scored and folded them the paper cracked. Unfortunately it is dark paper which shows the white under the crack. Am I doing something wrong, do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
