Thanks so much for this video on Cartrophen ! I am taking my 7 year old , 120 pound Rottweiler boy Sonny in for his third injection tomorrow morning and after the second injection, I have noticed big improvements. Sonny was limping or favouring his left front leg..the vet thinks it is actually in his wrist joint or hyper extension of the carpal joint. Within a day or two of the second injection, Sonny started being his playful self again and wanted to go on longer walks....the improvement continued throughout that second week to where he has been acting like a puppy again :) The favouring is now mostly noticeable in a down hill incline..but on the flat area, it is barely noticeable. Out vet suggested the four injections , one wek apart and than once a month..just like your boy is getting. I am very encouraged by this treatment so far ! Sonny also gets the glucosamie and condroitin with MSM supplements and homeopathic Arnica1m ans Rhus Tox 30C as supports. Best wishes to you and your handsome boy!😃🥰
Thank you so much for watching and I am so glad to hear the video was helpful! That is amazing that Catrophen is working so well for Sonny! It has been the best thing I could have ever done for Fred to help with his limping. The only time he starts to limp even the slightest now is the last day or two of the month before I need to give him his next shot which the vets have told me that means the dosage is working well. Please keep me posted on Sonny's progress and if you ever have any questions please let us know:) You are doing all the right things to support Sonny as he ages! He's a lucky dog!
Hi.. I hope you and Fred are doing great! After we finished with the one dose a week for 4 weeks we were going to go to once a month but after 2 weeks or just 2 days short of 2 weeks Sonny started to limp again quite a bit so I called the vet and the vet said we would go ahead and give him an injection at 2 weeks and then again in another two weeks and then try to go to once a month.... have you heard of anybody else having to do this with their dogs?
HI ! I hope you and Fred are doing great! Since I posted here last....I had Sonny in for x-rays...as he started limping on the front left paw....so to be sure what we were dealing with the x-rays were a good idea..the x-rays showed he does have osteoarthritis in the location of his left front carpal (wrist) joint. The vet felt that we might also give Sonny, Deramaxx chewables (NSAID ) to get him more comfortable while continuing with the once a month Cartrophen injections. This took place about 2 months after starting the Cartrophen injections. This is now Jan 30, 2023..he has been on Cartrophen since last Sept..about 4 months and on the Deramaxx along with it...since last November...about 2 months. Until about a week ago...he had no limping on this treatment plane...but now he is favouring that left front again ..although I believe it is being irritated now by a crack in a paw pad on that foot...? not sure.( Winter in Canada ) Just wanted to up-date you and see if you have any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks so much! Jory and Sonny :) :)
Just wanted to say thank you for the video, just gave my doggy her second injection today, she is almost 9 years old now, she is a lab, collie mix. She has been limping bad on her back leg. Hoping she is able to walk a little more comfortably in the future, I’ve notice she is drinking lots more water and has been tired. Ex-rays show hip displasha. Anyways thanks again for the re-assurance. Wishing you an your doggy all the best
Hi Ed! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! How did it go giving the second injection? I know the first few can be tough but you generally will see the results quite quickly which is great. The sleeping and drinking more water may be a side effect of adjusting to the catrophen but I would monitor it and if it continues maybe ask your vet. It's hard seeing your pet in discomfort but it sounds like you are doing everything to help your doggie feel better :) If you have any questions let me know. Keep me posted on how cartrophen works out for your girl!
Thank you SO much! I’m a retired emergency vet tech who is now a dog groomer. When this is available here in the USA it will be an amazing help! Wonder if they’re using it for people??? Sending peace and health to you both!!!♥️☮️‼️💕🐾🐾💕🤗
Hi Sue! Thank you for watching and for commenting! I really appreciate it 💕I know hopefully it does become available in the USA shortly that would be great! Haha it works so well on animals they should try it on humans! Happy holiday season to you and your family :)
My 14 year old Welsh Cardigan Corgi Andy has been on a once a month injection for about nine months now . He used to get cold laser treatments which helped immensely but were discontinued after the only vet that offered the service became ill . I have not noticed a great improvement with these injections however at his age I will stick with it as I ,d hate to stop and then have to begin from scratch again ……
Thanks for commenting! Sorry to hear that you have not noticed much improvement with the catrophen injections, I think the level of severity of the arthritis when beginning cartrophen can impact the the amount it helps improve it. I agree I think it is a good idea to keep Andy on them to ensure it does not regress. I have never heard of cold laser treatments, very interesting! Andy is lucky to have such an amazing mom doing everything she can for him ❤️🐶
My older border collie was given 100mg Cartrophen injections over 5 weeks and died 5 weeks later from a seizure. He had no other health issues other than arthritis.
Who are you exactly to give veterinary advice? I am just wondering. Are you a veterinarian or just a dog owner and user of Cartrophen? That’s quite important to know when you give advice
Hi thanks for watching. It clearly states at the bottom of the video to seek a vet for further information and it also states in the video that we were at the vet. We are giving our experience using the Cartrophen as pet owners and the video never once stated we were a vet
Hi, me again, I received your reply by email. Unfortunately I was watching your video on the new TH-cam app on iPad and the comments where you give the information I asked are there but will hidden, you need a couple of clicks to get to them on my windows pc the info is just right there. sorry and thanks, I need to make an appointment to start using cartrophen on the old girl
I, is it true , you need to throw the rest of cartropen to the carbage after 3 months ? If you have a full bottle of 10 ml and 1.3 shot... do you realy throw that in the garbage ? thanks
Thank you for watching! I would love to know if your dog has been prescribed Cartrophen and what their experience was like on it?
Thanks for the video. My Bulldog has just started the injections today. Hopefully he has the same success as you dog. I’m praying he does!
hey, did it help? is your dog ok?
