    Mumbat was remarkably cooperative. Yes, she was stunned by running into things, but she seemed to understand the “syringe-fruit” right away, ate fruit, and let you give a bottle to her baby. Wonderful that they weren’t seriously injured and could go home. So many tragic electrocutions lately. I love the patience, exquisite care, and calm loving voice you give to your batty patients. Well done, all of you. The blond wingless pup is adorable and you are lucky to have her to keep you in line. Clearly a genius who rightly appreciated Meg’s multicolored toes.

    The Princess’s little one is so beautiful, and smart too! She’ll be a battie rescuer like her mum in no time! I have to admit, seeing babes just hanging off of mum as she flew away made me understand why they sometimes fall off too! Such a great rescue!

    Thank you for sharing this video about rescuing flying foxes! In Canada, we also have trouble with rabies and are advised not to ever touch a bat! Our bats are much smaller, and some suffer from white nose disease. Poor dears! I have found two dead bats in our neighbourhood, and I guessed that they might have been hit by cars. Your bats are giants compared to our little brown bats! I thought the little girl was quite cute and it's good to teach children about bats and how to help them. Good on you!! ~Janet in Canada

    • @Megabattie

      Ayla, the child, is the Princess's kid, and is thoroughly batty. The Princess is a bat carer extraordinaire (who is an intuitive genius with head injury care) who is halting her batty life in order to raise her own personal wingless pups. I miss her skills.
      We have the smaller micros as well but few in the city.

    • @Megabattie
      @Megabattie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It helps if you can feed the mum to keep her occupied so I can feed the baby. Bats in shock don't make new milk and Artemis was a bit "squidgy" which is my technical term for not great. She'd hit her head, she was horribly stressed, and she wasn't managing baby particularly well but she didn't want baby gone.
      I just filled in until she was feeling better. She was calm enough at this stage to kind of trust me providing I distracted her with the mandarins.

      Hi CM, glad you're enjoying the channel.
      Welcome to Megabattie,
      I put lots of information in the descriptions under the videos - so if you have questions, look for the answers there first. I also put the fate of the animal if I know it, at the time I put the video up. I may put updates there later if I find out what happened to the animal after it has left my care.
      There is also a Happy Outcomes playlist if you want to only watch videos where the bat survives; this is a real life channel and you get the good, the bad, the ugly and distressing, and even my oopsies.
      You can find further videos on an individual bat by searching in the YT search bar for Megabattie/and the name of the bat you want to follow.
      There is a community tab (like a mini Facebook page) on my channel - if you go to Megabattie home page, there is a menu bar across the top under the cover pic. Home, Videos, Playlists, Community, About. If you click on the community tab there are posts there where I can share pix and talk about some of the videos I put up and answer questions.

    • @Megabattie
      @Megabattie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Birds have quite a different flight action which is more up and down, and they don't have the full body undulation the bats use.

    PS are you still masking up in Oz??

    • @Megabattie
      @Megabattie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      We're supposed to mask up to protect the bats from our potential covid. In practice I get tested regularly and mask up if I'm unwell to protect the bats from anything I might have which could infect them and then mutate with disastrous consequences.
      I mask up when I go to the supermarket and areas with many germy people.
      And yes, we mask up from other humans if we choose. We've got a new strain going round and the MOP's parents are old so the MOPs are masked to prevent spreading anything to their parents

    Meg, she is quiet because the hot talk gossip in the trees with mama bats is about a certain lady who goes around caring for babies and mamas, she already heard about you 😅
    when you release them, I was doing pretty good until I saw mom flying away and her little baby head hanging by mom's belly then I completely lost it, its so emotional to see what all of you do for them. Also mothers are super heroes who flies away like that with a baby aeound you??? only mamas♥♥♥♥♥
    and so they fly to the moon, adorable little girl as well.

    wooo! i loves a good release vid!! really cool seeing a pup on a mumma bat in the air, gawd knows that must be hard work. PS: the wingless pup has to stop growing up so fast. seems like just yesterday when she was still a bump on a princess tum lol

    Seems like mumbat wanted a bottle too ;-). They look so majestic in flight, I love seeing them take off in slo-mo.
    Ayla's cute and smart! Surely her first word must have been "battie" and she needs to work a little on her make-up skills still ;-).

    I love at 12:32 how you can see the baby letting go of the cage door!

    • @Megabattie
      @Megabattie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can, though baby wouldn't have been hooked on; it's probably baby letting go of mum as she manoeuvres herself out of the cage.

    すごいなぁ❣️赤ちゃんコウモリ🦇さんを手際良く保護して施設に連れ帰り、予防接種すぐに済ませて、ご飯あげて ゆりかごで寝んね🩵。。
    最後自然に返すところを子供たちに見せたら、その子たちも自然保護の尊さ✨を学ぶのですね!!ありかたいなぁ!!!!🎉

      コウモリは狂犬病のワクチン接種を受けていなかった。救出された母子は救出から1週間後に解放された。 10日以上保護されていない限り、一緒に放し、保護しないほうがよいでしょう。
