- This video was insane. So far, the manbear has been stalking me around, not doing much but watching me; however, as of recently, his aggression has grown more and more. Instead of hiding in the fog, he now comes closer to me at every turn. The Manbear is a project I've been working on for many months with a developer I know. It's also due to get a new update. My cabin is now fully destroyed, or, well, most of it. I have to evacuate my home and move elsewhere or fall victim to the manbear.

One thing that would be really cool is an interaction between tamed wolves and the Manbear, By this I mean it would be a great way to build tension if tamed wolves growled/whimpered if the Manbear is specifically about to attack you/mock attack you.
As anyone with dogs would know they sometimes bark when there’s nothing there/something we can’t hear that they can. To make it so that the Manbear can’t always be reliably sniffed out by your wolves, you could make it so sometimes they do just bark at nothing and/or don’t bark/growl/whimper when the Manbear is just stalking you so you can still have moments where your heart drops when you lock eyes with it.
Also another cool thing would be if when you’re inside your house the Manbear sometimes just sniffs around loudly outside your base and scratches at your walls before leaving again, this would really make it feel more like an actual bear.

You know what go along great with a man bear? Is if Minecraft had more realism, so less inventory space, each block and item would be valuable and devastating to lose one, more like you're trying to survive this creature in real life. I'm just loving the videos and the work my guy.

I think that it would be cool to do the Wendigo mod with some of your friends so that the Wendigo can actually make a convincing mimic noise, and maybe even lead to some ambushes or jump scares. In reality watch tower is way worse. Manbear could just break tower's legs and boom. Tower gone. This base is way more unrealistic.

Imagine a server with this mod. You're walking around, searching for supplies, and you pass by the ruins of a house that used to belong to your friend. And now you have no idea where they are or if it's even safe in the area.

Something I’ve noticed throughout the thumbnails is the manbear gets more and more visible if you take a look at them, this is related to the manbear getting more aggressive throughout the series and getting closer. which i think is a cool detail. At first we can barely see him and just make out his outline and eyes but now we can almost fully see him

Fun fact: bears are actually exceptional climbers, able to scale full-grown trees in seconds with brutal efficiency. In fact, not only are they shockingly good at climbing, they're also known for being almost comedicaly agile and dexterous. What with holding their cubs and picking food from the trees and such...just food for thought ;)

the wendigo mod should probably be inciting terror with anti passive mob behavior (makes villagers attack eachother by becoming insane from wendigo exposure, you can hear a sheep spawn next to your how and hear it get killed and gutted, etc) and be very inspired by actual north american and native folklore about wendigos, it would be truly goated

btw, just had an idea for the Manbear:
what if, the more players you have within, say, one chunk of you, the less likely the Manbear is to attack? Predators IRL tend to seek out the weak, injured or alone as opposed to a full group, which could be a fun way of allowing multiple people playing with this mod to survive while also making it so that they either have to send less people out to gather/explore or leave no-one behind, as individual players being left behind at base or being sent out to explore would be the most vulnerable. as a result, multiple players on the same world would be incentivized to work together and plan ahead to ensure maximum possible safety for everyone

#idea: create different behaviors for your manbear, 3 come to mind right away for me. 1. Stalking 2. Spite 3. Cowering.
These behaviors are triggered under different circumstances. Furthermore I want to push for a new ability for the manbear, where he can create a one by one hole in a players home or wherever the player hiding and grab the player if the manbear is able to get within 3 blocks distance of the player regardless of walls. This will punish the player for staying near windows if the manbear is present. I would also be interested if you were to introduce a new burrowing ability for the manbear where the manbear could dig under player homes and attempt to pull the player through the floor boards. You could balance this by adding a new scratching sound to hint at whats happening before it’s to late. Finally lets introduce the two new behaviors that go beyond the traditional stalking behavior, first off may I suggest that spite and cowering are only triggered after the player cuts off a limb. Causing the manbear to retreat for the time being afterwards triggering either spite or cowering. The spite behavior will use the players data to see the areas the player spends the most time and trigger the manbear to wreck and kill anything in the vicinity this can include, past shelters, villages etc. the cowering behavior will generate a cave/haunted looking house that the manbear stays at within so many blocks. In conclusion with the adding of these new behaviours and abilities you will be have a more unique experience every time creating a nemesis esc player system the limbs could be used to craft a manhunt like compass, or just be used for an edible buff once cooked. Once the manbear is killed it should drop a head where you can present it over a fireplace and maybe fur you can craft into custom texture carpet or something.

Actually could use Redstone to make an alarm system like tripwire hooks around trees at like manbear height and have wired the house or watch tower to signal a lamp that turns on when wires are tripped. Basically been like "MAN BEAR ALERT!"

I think he died last episode. Look at his xp bar at the beginning of this episode (it’s at 7), but last episode at the end, it was at 18. If you’ve seen the next episode, you see that he doesn’t show him “escape” ever. I love the series, but the probability of him already dying is very high. If somebody can explain this another way, I’m willing to listen.
I actually cannot wait to see this mod for myself one day. All these minecraft horror mods I see are so underwhelming because theyre too predictable and in your face right from spawn. The idea of a new monster that doesnt show up that much and spends more time stalking you quietly, occasionally scaring you by mimicking your voice is so exciting. Imagine you start a world wanting to see the manbear and he doesnt show up for a while and you completely forget you were even playing with the mod and it comes out of nowhere. Please keep us posted on the development progress
just a idea, but I think if you manage to hit the Manbear it has a rare chance to drop a hair or his blood. then using the item dropped you can use a brewing stand to create potions that can make you more resistant to the cold or give you greater vision during snow storms. I think it would be really cool cause trying to fight the manbear is not easy as he is hard to find and could appear at any moment. so getting the drops could make you feel accomplished.

This mod would be absolutely phenomenal if the goal was to eventually kill the Manbear, after surviving him of course, You'd need full Netherite armor and weapons. That would be a perfect mod. I would definitely play this when it releases

It could use the snowball mechanic but it deals up to 3 hearts of dmg. It could spawn on the ground for the player or man-bear to pick up, though it'd be hard to program the man-bear to be intelligent enough to utilize the rocks when it needs to

I'm very intrigued by the Deep.D's carateristique that doesn't allow you to escape it in any way. It's a bit slower, but ineluttable.

#idea: a lot of other people suggested this as well, but I feel like you could expand a lot more on the mimic/wildlife ambience features. When it's been nearby recently animals stay silent and spawn less, pets get uncomfortable but don't attack (but aren't always accurate). The manbear also mimics other animals in addition to you in order to bait you. It will sound similar but if you focus you can hear a subtle difference in speed/pitch/resonance. Another small tip off could be if they're used in the wrong contexts; if a dog is on edge it will make happy dog noises, or it could make fox noises when there's none around. Some other cool features could be where it could make wounded pet noises in order to lure you (or if you wanna get really dark, kill your pet and mimic it as well) or when mimicking players it prefers ones who are most recently recently attacked/killed. In early game it might occasionally make mimic noises while ambience goes on, but as it gets more silent it mimics more to uphold the perception of safety.

Though I had a thought: the "ultimate step"
of Minecraft horror mod mobs would be mobs that can counter a Minecraft player's endgame, and resist every tactic the player can throw at it.
full netherite god armor/set? Potions? It can counter it.
End Crystal/TnT minecrafts? it can counter it.
traditional mob AI exploits like trapdoors, fall-traps, lava, etc? it can counter it.
redstone traps? Mountains of TnT? it can detect/counter it.
obsidian box at bedrock? it can worm it's way in.
skybase at build limit? it can reach you.
void base in the end? it can find you.
Elytra, it can chase you down.
No matter how far you climb up, the monster will escalate and meet you.
Obviously it won't be so hard to start or else you just die the instant your spawn in, rather, as you get stronger, it will adapt and grow, and escalate alongside you.
because at the end of the day, a viewer could just think "haha, why not just go underground, grind till full netherite, and slay the creature?" True horror would be being UTTERLY powerless against it.
Having it be able to adapt to at least SOME of the more "end-game" Minecraft features would be an extra layer of terrifying.
I don't think having an un-counterable entity would be a fun experience to be honest. It sounds like it would remove the point of trying to progress because why bother if you're ultimately going to be screwed no matter what you do? It needs to have some kind of weakness like maybe it's afraid of fire/lava so you would have to design your base with that in mind, or maybe it's able to dig through stone and deepslate but not obsidian so you have to invest a lot of time and effort to build a true safehouse. Maybe it can be considered an undead creature so the smite enchantment does monstrous amounts of damage to it. Theres a lot that can be done. And its ok for a creature to be strong, but I think its not a good idea to have one thats unbeatable because why even bother playing if its not going to matter?
To be clear, I do agree that a LOT of these “horror” mods are only scary on the first couple of times you see them and dont do much to counter an endgame level player, but I just disagree that an unbeatable entity be the solution to that
First of all... This model has already crossed the threshold of the everyday and has earned the right to be considered its own terror, foreign to the dweller that we have already met. Congratulations IDK Someguy!
Now... You have really made the Manbear smarter with more updates, especially in the part of solving situations such as how to kill him while you are in a tower. Thinking about it a bit, once you've honed him better, how about working on his intelligence and attitude when you, the player, are exploring the caves? It would be interesting to see how the Manbear reacts (more aggressively than normal) when he realizes that you are mining in the caverns for iron and diamonds. But the interesting thing would be how it would react when you are building buildings that exceed a certain block height, and above all, what type of blocks do you use! I don't know, if you build something with wood, it will be a lurker, but if you build with stone it will become more angry, and if you manage to build an Iron golem, ugh, the Manbear will be extremely aggressive without fear of dying and will not hesitate to kill you, when He notices that his prey is becoming more difficult to attack.
They are just suggestions that you can take or not, but without demanding anything from you, I appreciate that you have invented a mod like this. We really needed one of this kind of psychological horror and tension. Thank you!
Of course of all the times when it could have attacked you, it had to be the one time you decide to go down and grab your bed from your old house. It's like it knew you were moving and wanted to strike at the perfect time.
Loving this series! This mod is honestly terrifying and I love how the AI of the Manbear slowly evolves as the world goes on.
31:00, this also confirms the bear CAN be attacked. In the moment that guy was hit, you hear a second smack and his axe is on cooldown.

Absolutely insane idea: the manbear can act like you do, it could get armor/weapons. My idea hinges on the idea that it never despawns, that it roams the world and hunts you. Imagine you get to the end and the dragon is already dead or the blaze spawners are broken at the nether fortress. I know that would be very hard to code, but that would be insane, not only does it hunt you, but it tries to hinder you from completing the game. This could even go so far as a mod pack where in order to escape the manbear you have to kill the enderdragon, which would be difficult because the manbear would be hunting you. This would probably require a custom armor/evolution/power up system. However, regardless, I think it would be really cool if the manbear tried to hinder you in your progress
#idea: Also a little additional bit, but adding different colored variants to the manbear would further personalize the players experience like if the manbear spawns a certain color only that color type can spawn until entity dies… something like that, also wound textures would be cool as well…

a cool feature could be that like the manbear could leave scratch marks on different things like trees and bases after being there and they could last for only a certain amount of time such as 7 minutes or something
Will the Manbear be able to travel trought dimensions ? Like hunting you in end cities or while you're looting a bastion... since the mod is about THE manbear, it would make no sense to have other entities (like the nether/end manbear) but it would make even less sense that these dimension would be safe from it.
Maybe each dimension/biome can have its entity, eventually. Like the deep dweller for deep dark biomes, manbear for snow biomes/woodlands/highlands. There could eventually be an entity for the nether, one for the end, one for oceans, one for some caves, perhaps even some for arid biomes or swamps.
That would be an idea of modpack, but if we only include Manbear mod, that mean every other biome/dimension is safe
Chit got no the nether should be safe from manbear, but if your doing stuff in there, who’s gonna watch it, keep an eye on it, make sure it isn’t moving to your portal, Sitting, Waiting for you to come out?
It would make EVEN LESS sense for it to be in the nether. It's a snow-dwelling creature, so it would make absolute zero sense for it to be in a hot dimension or in the end. Even though the mod is focused on the Manbear, there's no reason for it to be on other dimensions.

It's been years since I played Minecraft but this made me download it again because I forgot how great the atmosphere can be, and with this mod eventually, it'll be something else. Your series is a nice balance between structured and casual, and it feels like an ongoing journey with a spooky yet cozy vibe.

You do not repair it and when its night and your not there manbear an spawn in it when you come back as long as theres a hole big enough to fit him. He stalks you trough a window and either you see or hear him or run right into him. Would be damn horiffiying but would be a Punishment nonetheless. Well if you got a roothless watchtower? Idk bout stuff like that. But the ides stands

and the build up is the best I've seen yet, like instead of short build up -> jumpscare, this feels like a horror film that would be even better then the ring

You should add more bridges to the watchtower over to like a mountain near by or make a floating island next to the tower so the man bear cannot get to it, or you can make it so when you are like that he can go to the highest block by you and jump up to you

And the title can be “I try to survive 100 days with the Most horrifying mod in minecraft” or somthing like that I really think this would bring in a set audience and really help out and become a good series where people will want u to go all the way to 1000days and u have a goal of tryna maybe set your self achievements to make it so u have an end goal
