Alakazam after the lost of elemental punch is basically a weaker Mewtwo, but with less coverage. Good stat split overall just suffering psychic type not being a powerful offensive type.
@@BigBoss-99a the split in those games are by type. For example, in FRLG fire punch and flamethrower would both be special. In gen 4 and onward fire punch is physical and flamethrower is special. Physical and Special moves are present in earlier games but they are categorized differently
@@BigBoss-99a well said! It made a lot of Pokémon complete trash because their stats and stab typings weren’t cohesive (think crawdaunt for example). Super healthy change for the game and meta overall

As a whole, yes. A small handful of pokemon got nerfed, but most were buffed. Houndoom also got nerfed with Pursuit becoming physical.
