Non return valves on hot and cold may help? Mini pressure vessel may help? My 2 suggestions.
Cheers pal 🙌
its because its a grab adhesive as well - but yes ive found it not nice to silicone up with profilers either! nice one 👍
100% I’ve started using mapie this week and I really like that to be honest
you could just rotate that piece of board and it would fit lol
Mini vessel on the cold feed to the boiler give that sudden shunt on the cold somewhere to go 👍👍
Thank you 🙌
There does not appear to be a shock arrestor fitted to the boiler, with a tap close to the cold inlet of the boiler, could the change in pressure be causing the irractic behaviour, as mentioned dead legs could also cause this but must be removed on conversions.
I reckon the shock arrestor and double check valve show sort the problem
Is it not that the tap is not fully in the cold position due to the wall been there?
No definitely not
Novopress are defo the best press gun. I was using a 110v Novo press gun 15years ago and have tried the rems and I personally much prefer the Novo. Cants speak on others but all I can say is novopress is a really good.
Good I’m more in favour of the nova press
Theres got to be a large plug of air somewhere on the hot side bit like booster pumps they can intermittently run if there is air in the system. cant imagine water hammer causing this as you cant compress water, will be interested if the shock arrester fixed it though
Possibly a dead leg could be causing it
The water hammer shockwave is passing down the cold in to the boiler and making it fire up.
Call viesmann ask if there’s a setting to delay the flow sensor/turbine ect a lot of good boilers can fix this in the menus.
Cheers pal didn’t realise you can do that
Or a non return valve on cold feed below the boiler and a mini shock arrester between the non return valve and boiler to take the extension. On the Worcester 8000 I fit I have to alter the delay as the guy above mentioned but if boiler can’t do this non return will sort it.
Ive got the novapress aco103 uses the Milwaukee m12 batterys love it
That’s the one I want
there is a dead leg on the hot pipe somewhere in the house .....double check valve after the last tee before the boiler on the cold main , with a mini expansion vessel between the DCV and the boiler
Cheers pal 🙌
With the boiler ring Viessmann see if you can put a delay on the flow switch. If not shock arrestor on cold feed to boiler.
Didn’t realise you could do that, thank you I’ll give that a try
The issue with viessmann boiler is the DHW flow sensor being activated by water hammer from either the tap or toilet fill valve closing. To fix this fit a shock arrestor /micro expansion vessel on the cold Inlet to the viessmann boiler. The flow of cold water abruptly hitting the closed valve (either tap or cistern fill) sends an impulse shock wave of water back down the cold pipe work. This shock wave is enough to briefly spin the impellor in the flow sensor in the boiler. The mini expansion vessel dampens /absorbs the shock wave so it doesn't activate the DHW flow switch.
Regards
Thanks pal, gunna give that a try 🙌
Thanks, my worcester does the same so this will help
@@SmartPipePlumbing before you do that check with viesmann if there’s a boiler setting where you can change the sensor sensitivity setting! You can on some boilers but I don’t know viesmann
@@martinedwardfleet what Worcester boiler
@@martinedwardfleet what model Worcester is it ?
That’s an annoying problem right at the end…cool video
Tell me about it, thanks for watching 🙌
Some jobs can be just a plain ballache mate. Hope you get it all sorted eventually and the tiler gets shot in a firing squad 😂
I'm wondering if fitting 2 check valves would cure the issue mate, maybe water shock from the mixer causing the problem
Double check valve and shock arrestor on cold to boiler should sort it I think
Yeah I had this problem with my old boiler…. Turn off cold water in the house or toilet finished flushing and boiler fires up. Shock arrestors on pipe work helped…. Had a new boiler a few years later and problem went away…. Still don’t actually know the exact cause. Could try some double check valves too
Also does it happen if you turn the tap off real slow?
feel your pain once drilled an expensive sink top wrong side for drainer 🙃
I’ve done that before 😂😂
Working on a soil pipe with no gloves on😮😂😂😂
😂 picked me nose afterwards aswell
Really glad to see this done. I bet it's a right C*#£ to fit. Fairplay
Cheers pal
Shock wrestle on incoming main to boiler should eliminate that mate
Cheers bud
WHITE AGAIN? YOU ABSOLUTE MONSTER!
Sound install mate, I don't like that BT1 either, my go to is dow 785N
I dunno why they didn't have a small basin installed by the boiler though, there's plenty of space
But yeah I'd probably go with having some check valves and see if that solves the issue, strange one though
Hahah customers choice 😂😂
I’ve started using mapie silcone pretty impressed to be honest
@@SmartPipePlumbing mapei silicone is 👌 tbh but Dow is cheaper for white and clear :) then mapei for colour matching (I'm a tiler/bathroom fitter) so colour match is important 🤣
Needs a shock arrestor fitting
Think that’s what I’ve gunna go to be honest
Fit a mini one see if it stops it. if not turn cold mains off open hot and cold taps then let a tiny bit of air out the Schrader valve then turn mains back on. Keep doing this till it sorts it.
@@kevinpatchett7094 cheers pal
Tap could be mixing 😕
Think it’s sending sock back up the cold and juddering the flow turbine on the boiler
Sponsorships from Milwaukee press gun!!! Or a massive discount
I wish 😂😂
😎👍👍🤜
I wouldn’t waste your money on a press gun for domestic.
They’re classed the same as compression fittings so need to be accessible.
The cost of the fittings offset the time saving
Is it actually? Didn’t know that
@@SmartPipePlumbing Don’t take my word for it, I contacted Pegler and Gebrit and both said the same. I specifically asked about gas but the were non committal about water.
I’ve got one, it’s occasionally handy.
They’re good in commercial and where you can’t do hot work.
MLCP is good snd possibly not classed the same as compression fitting thinking about it.
You can knock them and they’ll move/leak.
@@SuperWayneyb I can’t see where it does or doesn’t say you need access?
I don’t see where you have quoted the reg that says they do
You wouldn’t use compression under a wooden floor, but press is fine, and it’s good practice to leave a trap wherever there is a fitting regardless of press or soldered. Press is just another method and it’s good to be able to use them all 🤘😎🤘
It’s because it’s a mixer tap and there is no none return valve on the cold water. So basically your getting a little return from the cold water
Hopefully and dcv wil fix the problem
Novopress with M press jaws
Think that’s what I’m gunna go for
rems press gun trust me ive had variuos press guns over the years rems has never failed
As it stands it’s definitely between rems and nova press
@@SmartPipePlumbing both solid choices stay clear of rotheburger absolute tripe
Sounds like the cold might be pushing back down the hot, maybe try a double check valve on the hot feed?
Will give it a try 🙌
Theres a dead leg on the hot side thats full of air , put a check valve on the cold if u can find it
Cheers pal 🙌
I just bought a.bottle of that BT1 havent used it yet, but from what i heard it was brought out because its meant to be easier to profile and work with as CT1 is solid so i think I'll take my bittle baxk and get something else. I was using plumbers gold for awhile but goes yellow to quick
Personally think it’s harder to work with than ct1
Try added a non return valves to the new toilet/tap feeds
Think that’s what I’ve gunna end up doing
Put non return valve on cold and restore air gap on internal shock arrester on boiler if they still have them on that model
Cheers pal didn’t realise these had them on the boiler its self I’ll looking in to that
Great video mate. Never installed on of them toilets before, so was in deep watching 😂
Cheers pal, there not bad to be honest you can get some cheap nasty ones that are a pain
Nightmare glad you got it fixed and sorted 😊😊😊 #feel the pain
Thank you 🙌
@@SmartPipePlumbing Your welcome
I reckon you have a dead leg somewhere normally a old hot supply to a washing machine or similar mate
They’ve had a few extensions so wouldn’t surprise me
Ive git a nova press and a rothenberger, i prefer the rothenberger but had to many issues with it to recommend, so id say the nova press
Nice one pal
Oh, cool toilet! First time i see this. Good job and good luck.
They are great for small areas
Need a check valve on the cold to the boiler. Had a couple of veismann boilers do this the 1st one we had done loads of work in a house and had no idea what was wrong. Check valve on cold to boiler sorted it. Not long after had same issue on a straight swap boiler (also same boiler as you have there) so again fitted check valve and sorted it.
Nice one must be something on the boiler I’ll get one fit
Not advised mate. Expansion in hot water has nowhere to go. Shock arrest or will take it up
install a shock arrestor
🙌🙌
Maybe faulty tap...
Could be a shout
That was a neat idea.
Thank you
There is a dead leg somewhere...
Have they have a boiler conversion at all? It can't be anything you have done it will be an exsisting problem....
Definitely an existing problem as I ran the cold on the bath and it did it too
