The story of the great, pious and righteous prophet and messenger of god, prophet Uzair one time went passed a village that was destroyed, and the inhabitant of that village were no longer there, so he said to himself how would Allah revive this village and bring it back to life, Allah [S] wanted a miracle to appear in the hands of Uzair.

This is truly amazing. I am reading Surah 2 (254-259) for a quran class, and i did not understand 259. I just wrote this in my notes minutes ago. I open youtube and on my front page is this video, something told me to click on it. Amazing it is EXACTLY talking about what i am reading about right now!

Uzair is the prophet that was sent to the Jews but they took him as god, then came Jesus and the Christians took Jesus as god. Hence the conflict between the Jews and Christians

In Surah Tawbah.(That's the Surat without bismillah starting with it) It says that the Jews say that Uzair (Ezra) was the son of God and Christians say Jesus (Isa) is the son of God. May Allah Guide them both.

Girls back in that generation developed earlier. A 9 year old at that time is basically the same as our 29 or 30 year old women of today. And Aisha Wanted to marry the prophet(saw) in the first place. It wasn't a forced married because forced marriages are haram in Islam.
I heard from one of my non Muslim friends that Mary Was Married to a Guy named Joseph at age 12. And Joseph was 90. So yeah it was normal back then. Because women matured earlier.

This story is from surah baqarah, verse 259
Or [consider such an example] as the one who passed by a township which had fallen into ruin. He said, "How will Allah bring this to life after its death?" So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years; then He revived him. He said, "How long have you remained?" The man said, "I have remained a day or part of a day." He said, "Rather, you have remained one hundred years. Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time. And look at your donkey; and We will make you a sign for the people. And look at the bones [of this donkey] - how We raise them and then We cover them with flesh." And when it became clear to him, he said, "I know that Allah is over all things competent."

I never knew about prophet uzair (as) story in Islam. But I knew the name Ezra is from the bible some 10 years back... I only knew his story today. Jazakallah khairan for sharing.

Uzair being identified with Ezra is 100% false. The actual Uzair mentioned in Qur'an is the ancient Egyptial deity Osiris. We have enough evidence for it now.

I read the verses about this man in the Quran so many times, I never knew he was a prophet.
Cant_Touch_This He was A pious Priest or Monk, He wasn't actually a prophet I Just came across some verses in the Quran that hinted at him being a priest/monk
Sami bigs Read Surah 9 Verses 30-31. Allah(swt) clearly refers to Uzair as a priest/monk
And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they!
They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah , and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.
My children 11/12 years old asked me about him, and I found this nice video to listen to with them as a sleep story. 10 minutes are great and enough to understand this prophet story ❤

A great lesson and premonition for the people today who consider a man the son of God because they thought he was dead (though he really wasn't) and reappeared amongst them! Very timely considering the Christians' worship of Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus)!

My parents named me Uzair and i pray and wish to try to live up to that name
أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحْيِي هَٰذِهِ اللَّهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۖ فَأَمَاتَهُ اللَّهُ مِائَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُ ۖ قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ ۖ قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ ۖ قَالَ بَلْ لَبِثْتَ مِائَةَ عَامٍ فَانْظُرْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ ۖ وَانْظُرْ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ آيَةً لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَانْظُرْ إِلَى الْعِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنْشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوهَا لَحْمًا ۚ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ قَالَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

There are 124000 Nabi ( prophet ) , 313 Rasul ( great prophet ), 25 Rasul we should know and 5 Rasul who are called Ulul Azmi ( Rasul Allah who faced the greatest test ) . The degree of such greater in rank of prophets is based on how much difficulty the have to face in order to teach the Islamic religion and about Allah to their people and others.
Quran is miracle even if they destroy all Quran we will recover we have it in our heart

Assalamu aleikum brothers i wanted to know where the story was extracted bcoz the story in the quraan it is talking about a man. Is there hadith where Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said or ?
The other thing is that in the whole book of Quraan there are only 25 prophets of Allah mentioned excluding Uzair in which if we include Uzair then there will be 26 prophets. Need assistance plz
