- It is believed that Luqman lived in 1100 BC, and was from Africa. He was described as a perceptive man, always watching the animals and plants of his surroundings, and he tried to understand the world based on what he saw. One day, whilst sleeping under a tree, an angel came to him and said Allah wanted to bestow a gift upon Luqman: either wisdom or being king. Luqman chose wisdom, and when he woke from his slumber, he was aware that his senses and understanding had sharpened. He felt in complete harmony with nature and could understand the inner meaning of things, beyond their physical reality. Immediately he bowed down, thanked and praised Allah for this wonderful gift.

Me too. But reverting to islam is very easy but maintaining yourself as a muslim is hard esp you're surrounded with same friends and family who can't understand. Better to change friends because "tell me who your friends are and i tell you who you are."people around us can contribute to how we behave

Yelanda Tabatha, from experience ( I know some arabs with such name, and other similarly sounding names). Also, to make sure, I just checked an Arabic dictionary online which is known for finding out the origin of names/words. It says it is of an Arabic origin, and it is mostly famous from the Quran. Nonetheless, it probably outdates the Quran. Correct me if I am wrong in anything. :)

If we would change the name "Luqman" to a greek name like Socrates or Achilles, and say he was a Greek philospher living in the year 1100BC he would not say it's a fairytale. But because Luqman was mentioned in the Quran he says it's a fairytale, even though there is nothing unrealistic (from his perception) taking place in this true story...
Tell me how do you know the sun is hot without touching it? Tell me how do know about the winds when you can't even see it. Only the wise will know through knowlegde.
