Sharon, Frank was not trying to run you over, at least it may have looked that way, but he loves you. Here she comes, the Queen of the ropes. WOW, that came down like a waterfall, the light on Frank was almost blocked out by the dust. Hope coming back is easier. Yep, Sharon was clipping down that rope, hey speedy. I can hear the air blowing down that chute, wow. You struck it rich, hurrah. Clean-up and block that opening, smooth sailing Progress and success! Beautiful. Been watching to see this point of progress. That makes you both happier than a bunny on clover.
Good Stuff, albeit so dangerous, how cool it must be to have a playground, gym, and a shelter with its own fresh water supply all part of your backyard. Too Cool. thanks for sharing.
BOY, THAT SHARON SURE CLEANS UP VERY NICE WHEN SHE WANT A HELO RIDE...JUST KIDDEN. SHE DOES ALWAYS. FRANK YOU BETTER KEEP HER AS SHE REALLY IS YOUR BETTER HALF HUH? WE ALL LOVE YOU BOTH. PLEASE BE SAFE AND GOD BLESS.
Sharon is amazing you have her working well the mine is looking great it will be nice to come out and explore when you have it all mucked out Looks like you still have quite a bit of work to be done. You guys are getting it done quick.
2021 loads. What a trip you took down the Second shaft. A few scary spots. Please stay safe Frank. Sharon would be upset if you got hurt. So would I. See ya my friends.
This was very exciting Frank and Sharon thank you for taking us along. I wonder if steel "I" beams would be good for the safety roof rather than wood? I'm not sure they are any stronger though. 🙂
The wood coming out last makes sense at it would "float" though the falling rocks, being less dense. doesn't really apply when the pile is static, but as it came down that stope it would sort it out somewhat
This has me so excited, seeing you're so close in clearing up this problem. So satisfying that this working is closing, and the mine museum will be up and running to full capacity.
Congratulations Sharon and Frank. You did an amazing job. I cannot think how this could be done without having those rails there. Happy belated birthday Sharon!
Enjoyed seeing the great photography, Sharon - belated many happy returns for your Birthday ❤! That was pretty heart stopping to watch but you guys were calm and collected. Thank you for another exciting update of the Yankee Boy. With love and greatest respect for you both ❤👷🏻♂⛏👷🏻♀
Glad to see you guys get to this point! Not done yet, but it sure as hell helps when you can see the end is near. Hopefully, no more surprises out of #2 shaft. Congrats, hope the mine tours are picking up.
Hope you had a very Happy Birthday, Sharon! Thanks to both of you Great mine excavators! I mean, Explorers. You've come a long way, that overhang on the #2 shaft was sketchy indeed!
Oooooh, I can't wait. Gonna be good. Haha, the pov of waist rock. Oh look a smiling face, it must be ok to come out now ; ) Looks safe, famous last words....
@@exploringabandonedmines Haha, Sharon was soooo sure she was gonna win that bet! Awesome stuff. Had me worried a bit seeing all that stuff coming down on ya. Nice to see you guys having a good time. If I wasn't so far away, I would come visit. Love watching, keep up the great work.
I wish I could visit your mine but I'm way on the other side of the continent. Vermont, USA. Just want to say Thanks for posting! and please Keep 'em coming! For some unknown reason I have become fascinated with mining and mining methods in the last couple of years. I can't help saying: Please be careful!
I almost wonder if you "suited up" and doubled up on eye and ear pro, if you could take your shotgun and put a few slugs into that loose stuff on top of the beam to trigger it to fall. a few well placed powder actuated pokes would probably do the trick of dislodging it. my biggest worry would be that the report also triggers something behind you
Hi Frank, hi Sharon, thank you so much for your effort and your time that both of you have in making this videos. I used to watch all the videos back in the old days when the channel was small and eventually got off of it. I only found all of it a few weeks ago and had some catching up to do. And to be honest, mine exploring was and is cool, but the Yankee Boy is by far your biggest adventure. I love watching you guys mucking out the shaft and as far as I'm concerned, the videos could only show that and still woulkd be interesting enough to watch. Luckily for me you still have the third shaft ahead of you. 🤗 I would have loved to have flown to your place in BC and helped you, I've actually been there before and it was beautiful. But at the moment the way from Germany is simply too far and too expensive. I tried to do you a favor and let the playlists run in the background to generate views for you. A few thousand should have come together by now. I hope that it is useful to you and that you at least get something back in return. At some point I'll come over and visit your museum and the mine. My Canadian travel permit is still valid for a few years - you have to take advantage of that. All the best to you both, many visitors and good luck in all your adventures.
Great work you two! It looks like you need to give those stulls a good thump to jar the loose scree down the shaft. Someone with a scaling bar poking the scree could get it to fall safely. Once it is down, then you only have to worry about fracturing occasionally.
Oh some proper hanging death near the end of the video in that Stope on the number 2 Frank, me and the guys are hoping to come over and visit some day.
You should launch some bear scares at the pile of rocks on the stoll above the #2 shaft and see what the small bangs can shake lose. Otherwise just chuck a lite stick of dynamite at it.
You guys are amazing. This is really cool and I am enjoying watching your adventure. So much hard work...over 2,000 loads?! Sharon is an excellent climber in my opinion. She can go anywhere she needs to. It was raining rocks in there! That was all kind of scary. Thanks for the fun video. 👍
awesome job.. I think I'd find a way to get those giant rocks stuck up in that shaft down. I think a rock that size falling 20+ feet would split a 6x6.
If you can stick 3-4 dynamite to a wooden pole and sit on that unstable stull it save you from any risk and let come down this hanging muck! I do rehab 11 years ago, underground as well and pushing ore cart and build chute, I deal with same stuff, rotten timber full of muck behind, and we not allowed to use any explosives at that time, cable knot around stull and pull them with the slusher lol. Soo dangerous, explosives could be your friend!
@@exploringabandonedmines slusher is the way or kind of scaling with long pole, its seem challenging to come down this stull, maybe just pull the cord is enough 😁
A fast way to split rock is to use a water saw and in the saw cut, to put those air jack pads you can buy to lift heavy things with. Pop a couple of them in there, pump them up and the rock will split. Not my idea, saw a guy who was clearing his access road up a mountain do this.
30:15 I saw the chair and was expecting you to take a seat with a cigar and a whiskey or beer. Maybe that’s just projecting what I’d do…..I guess you wouldn’t be closing in on 2000 carts removed taking mini victory laps. 31:00, I guess you hit 2000

This is probably a silly ideah, but if you want to bring that unstable stall down with all the rocks on it, go back down with a gun & shoot the timbers untill they give way. We dispose of dangerouse tree branches that way. I know the dynamics inside a mine are way different but just an ideah. Cheers Daniel.

What a great job you 2 are doing especially explaining everything to us, I wasn't exactly sure what your plan was around 24:00ish with what you were trying to do and then you have all of the rock stuck there and at 34:20 you know as well as I do but loggers would call that..."A Widow Maker"... I'm not sure what you would call it in the Mining Industry

Must ask the rope that has a lot of muck on top of the cross timber is that the end of a false floor that had fallen down to the number two shaft at some time past ?

Yes you should!
It looks like the Yankee Boy still has some surprises left! One never knows what Sharon and Frank will find next! Nice work, both of you!
That is what keeps us going!
You should launch some bear scares at the pile of rocks on the stoll above the #2 shaft and see what the small bangs can shake lose.
Otherwise just chuck a lite stick of dynamite at it.
Can you make an extra long Pelican to pull some of that stuff down off that Stull?
We have lots of long pieces of 2 inch irrigation pipe.
poke a couple of sticks around the stull, that will clear it, remote detonater
You can't get dynamite.
Just amazing what you two have accomplished there! I am unable to make it there this summer for a visit, but hopefully next year will be possible!

Awesome stuff Sharon Frank, can you not just knock the hazard/hazards down to make it safe that way?
Then I would have to shovel it and tram it out,
awesome job.. I think I'd find a way to get those giant rocks stuck up in that shaft down. I think a rock that size falling 20+ feet would split a 6x6.
We use 8x8s but if they are covered with several feet of waste rock the weight is spread out and cushioned then they will hold.
If you can stick 3-4 dynamite to a wooden pole and sit on that unstable stull it save you from any risk and let come down this hanging muck!
