My question is, using the Power Apps solution, would it be possible to write-back information to the Sharepoint list? One minor thing: swim lanes in Kanban mean something different. Swim lanes are different work streams. The number and types of statuses will typically differ from swim lane to swim lane. The swim lanes are horizontal, not the vertical columns.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no collection for the gallery items.

Now I'm eager to use this Kanban board and have imported your file, but have many errors, I guess because of the data source, please suggest me how to fix it and use the app. Should I create my own SharePoint list with columns you've used and link with the app? Please help!

      Yes, you would need to create your own data source and add columns. There is no easy way for me to share the SharePoint list template in modern SharePoint.
      Better option is to create it from scratch. Create a simple list with 1-2 columns and build the board. Then grow on it.

    Hi Reza, another great video. Thank you. I have learned a lot from watching your videos.
    I have a question about Power Apps that I can't seem to find the answer to online, and if it is possible, it might make a good video idea. In almost all instances, the Power Apps being shown are linked back to a fixed data source (by that I mean the data source itself doesn't change, even though the data within it obvioulsy can be updated).
    Is it possible to build an app that has the ability to modify the datasource that it is connected to?
    For example, lets say each team, or each project, used a SharePoint list. The list columns are exactly the same, but the actual list items would vary from team to team (or project to project). Is it possible to build one app, which has the ability to 'work with' all of these different datasources (lists). I am envisaging some kind of dropdown select box on the home screen where you would select the list/source, and then click a button, and the app would refresh with the chosen data source.
    Hopefully this request makes sense. I have a use case where we have a SharePoint list 'template' (fixed column names/column types and initial list item descriptions) that is used for each new project. Once created, the new list (based on the template) is then used to track the project, so depending on the project (list), each list item might have different meta data - eg assigned to, progress, priority, etc.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and liking my videos.
      Dynamic data source linking is currently not a feature with Power Apps and that's probably the reason why there is no solution online.
      You can use apps that modify a data source, but that would have to be done via flow and would be a challenge to design the App.
      I did make a video on dynamic forms in power apps wherein the form changes based on backend configuration - th-cam.com/video/wQqetH2QLyk/w-d-xo.html

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The top gallery (board list) is loading from the choices from the sharepoint list. That you can apply a filter function and remove the tray you do not need.

    Nice work again Reza, where do you get the time to make all this again. 🙏
    I note that drag and drop is not yet possible in Power Apps. Is that correct?
    I made an attempt myself to make a drag and drop feature with a slider. But I am missing the right events for the slider.

    ThisRecord.Value

    ).Value,
    RowNo: Value
    }
    )
    );
    But Value is not showing for me. Instead of that, "This data type is unsupported for evaluation" displaying as value.
    Displaying the data in Text field and in Cards is working. Value is not able to fetch When I use the formula for arrow icons. where I did the mistake?
    RowNo_LBL = ThisItem.RowNo
    For left and Right arrows functionality:
    Patch(
    Accounts,
    ThisItem,
    {'Work items': {Value:LookUp(COLWISeq,RowNo = Value(RowNo_LBL.Text)+1).Value}}
