My mind is blown Reza! I have been tasked at work to create a HR requisition app where people can submit requests for new hires.
I made it, but I thought that I overcomplicated it, just a "little bit" :) Now I am watching your video (too late offcourse) and I am banging my head seeing that my whole work could have been done in a much more simpler was and in a couple of hours.
Nevermind. I am a firm believer that we only learn when we fall. This techniques you shown here will burn in to my memory big time, since I made a mess and I can see how it is done properly.
Thanks for the help and keep up the good work! Your channel is invaluable for poor old Analyst like me all around the world.

We all learn new things everyday. I also would love to revisit some of my older videos and upgrade them based on new learnings.
A winner is one who keeps learning and more importantly accepts that learning never ends.

Good day sir - I cannot thank you enough for all the help you have provided. Your tutorials get right to the point, provide amazing examples and have allowed me to go from never touching Power Apps to one month later, creating a comprehensive Governance process for over 200 application development teams to migrate to a new framework. Still more work to do (create editable tracking dashboards "ie. this video" - automated approvals...), but I am sure you will be there to help in one of your videos. Thank you again.

I did have an issue that turned out to be something wrong with the modern dropdown when filtering. The rows would be correctly filtered but the dropdowns would be randomly blank. I switched them out for the classic dropdowns and it works great. Just not as nice of a look.

Lots of great content here, Reza you make the absolute best content around PA. Just fair warning there are many limitations with these controls since they're experimental atm. Dropdowns are limited to 25 items for example.

Reza, first, let me just say Thank you! your videos are super helpful, well planned and well produced. I do have a few questions.
    1) at 23.29 - you state it is possible to use the subject drop down (drpfilter) as the default value coded into the New button. but you do not show the code for this. I am running into some syntax issues and can't quite figure out what I am doing wrong. Would you be able to share the code for setting the default for a dropdown input with the New button?
    2) I am trying to use this grid functionality in a 'model driven' approach using two sharepoint lists, where one has a lookup function to relationally connect the tables in a 1:many relationship. (think single expense with multiple line items). I am hoping to use the information from question 1 to set my default look up choice to the selected choice from an another gallery on the same screen. (similiar to what you did in your "Microsoft Dataverse for Teams for Beginners | Build your first Power App Tutorial" around 18:50). is this possible?

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      1) That basically is patching a new record. I already Patch defaults in this video. All you have to do is Patch your column values. I have done multiple videos on Patch hence did not cover it here.
      2) I have not tried grid relationships with Dataverse or SharePoint but it is definitely possible.

23:13 Thank you for this tutorial. I’ve got a functional app that looks pretty good. You mention changing the logic of the app so that a new record shows up in your filtered gallery. How can I do this? It would be the icing on the cake, I’ve tried a several things, but I can’t figure it out.
Again, thanks for your fantastic tutorials.

Hi Reza, thank you so much for sharing this. In my scenario the data source is Power BI Integration and I only have one editable column in my gallery which is a Checkbox. I am using a column from Power BI dataset with True/False data type to support the data to this Checkbox. I want to enable a button in Power App when the user checks all the records using this checkbox field.
However when I use the slicers from Power Bi report in which I have embedded this App, and when I check records of a particular value in the slicer and when I check other records by changing the slicer to another value, the previously checked values are getting unchecked.
I am trying to use what you have explained in this video at 11:27 by storing the values which are changed but when I select my checkbox I dont see Onchange Property. Can you help me in this scenario on how the gallery can hold the changes to the checkbox even when we change the slicer values coming from Power BI?
