I played melee for years. To my knowledge I never saw this happen except with roy's counter. And yes I thought this was baked into the ability because I literally saw the ceiling effect every single time the counter was used.

@@jk844100 I think it comes down to the utility. I can't name an ultimate glitch that's particularly utilizable. There are certain techs, like AC and Dashwalks, but they're not exactly exploits or glitches, and nothing about them is super universally practical, or even that interesting to look at. Where as melee has like a bajillion extremely practical ones, a bajillion practical ones that look janky as shit, and like a bajillion just straight up jank ones. The second you see weird shit, it raises questions like how the fuck they did that. Ultimate does not have that sense of wonder at all because it's very flowcharty.
The fact that the competitive Melee scene continues to evolve despite the game being played on the exact same version for the better part of human history shows a certain beauty that modern games down't have.
