Brian Dunne Interview ( Hall & Oates, Chuck Loeb, Alana Davis and A.W.B.) with DrumHeads & Tales

I sat down with drum great, Brian Dunne to discuss growing up in a musical family, his early drum influences, and his advice for other drummers getting into the biz. Brian has been the drummer for Hall & Oates since 2012. Before that, he played with Jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb, the Average White Band and Alana Davis.
Brian plays a D.W. Performance Series kit with Sabian cymbals and uses Vic Firth drum sticks.

Brian is one of the most underated drummers in the US. Being a big fan of AWB I had the pleasure of meeting Brian a number of times. He is a true artist in his own right. Long may he play.

I worked with Chuck Loeb for 30+ years. Chuck and I used to joke that someday we were going to be saying "We knew that guy Brian Dunne back in the day!" :)

Well done Mr. Evans. Casually met Brian at Daryl's club in New York, at a New Year's Eve show. Of course the man is an alien behind the drums...the consummate session hired gun. He can morph into any role. The sign of a true modest musician that can allows the music to dictate his playing. And that is exactly what I felt after that conversation with Brian.. a modest, talented, genuinely good human being.
