    I spent an hour watching the whole series, and I can say that without any "uncertainty" I don't regret doing so.

    if you're good with 1.3 and 1.4 (that's where i talk about significant zeros in the first place), then watch 1.5, which is where i first do multiplication and division with significant zeros.

    Thanks sooooooo much! I really understand it. My teacher spent 3 hours and half on this unit for chemistry, and majority of the class including me was confused. 1 hour of your series and i got 100% :)

    This is the best (most helpful) video of your series--although they were all excellent. GREAT review of sig-fig material. Thanks for the effort!

    Tyler, i don't understand how 14 or 34 counted people represent infinity people. Shouldn't it be "14." to show there are 2 significant figures since you counted them and are certain? ...I've watched all your video's till this one.

    • @tdewitt451
      @tdewitt451  9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      They aren't infinity people. They are 14 people, but you know they are 14 people with infinite certainty. For more info, watch my video called "Why are Significant Figures Important?"

      Would a better explanation be that there's a distinction between discrete and continuous variables? The former would be measurements that have a countable number of values between any two values and the latter would be measurements that have an infinite number of values between two values. Thus we use sig figs for continuous variables because we are specifying the number of digits and we dont for discrete because there are finite and definite choices.

    For the first problem, the answer was 25.9, but wouldn't it technically be 26. because it needs two significant figures?

    Hi I have a question! What do you do if in the question it goes from cm to cm^2 (squared)? For example(12.4 cm X 7.943 cm) +0.0064 cm^2? How would you solve this?
