wishing you the best! these relics are pretty ruthless, a tip I would recommend is slide spinning whenever you can, typically on flat open grounds, and get a feel for it. you can actually triple spin boost with slide spinning, and although it doesn't show it, you can notice it in certain slides giving you more distance, just get a feel for it! I'm sure it'll make your runs a little easier :)
We all are at this point, we gave him the strats needed for platinum and suggested dev times as a possible series if he's just looking for videos to make, but this will be the series that finally breaks Lewis. Also you thinking on joining the tourney later? It's looking pretty quiet right now and I think my friend (Jack) is joining so you might have a chance to place high
Lew, this is huge game changer ( like the U turn in ctr ) There is a technique that apparently has no name and for some reason no one on youtube made a clear tutorial about it. When you slide spin, do it with perfect timing 3 times in a row, the triple spin will like mix with the spin which will make you extremely fast, its kinda hard to master this technique but once you do and be able to control it, dev times will be piece of cake ( i mean still hard but way way much easier ). To sum up, the whole idea is about 3 slide spins in a row that each one is faster than the previous. Good luck.
I’ve beaten all Dev Times myself, wishing you the best of luck! As you get more comfortable you’ll get them way easier. Can’t wait to see you get them!
Just realised Tooney's gonna HAVE to beat these times now along with your times since you're doing this, don't know if he even knows this yet but man that's gonna be interesting
As someone who has been playing along with your 106%, i feel obligated to suffer along with you on this as well. Godspeed to us both, looking forward to the vids 🎉 (hopefully not too often for the sake of my mental health)
I highly recommend to practice slide spinning. In Rude Awakening you were vigorously spamming slide and spin, which can actually make you slower than spamming triple spin. The proper technique is to slide, wait until crash "almost" completes his sliding animation and then spin to reset it. It can take some time to adjust to this timing but once mastered it makes dev runs much more approachable. Right now I am halfway done with the dev relics and without slide spinning I would already had given up on a A Real Grind. Apart from that, there are several other benefits that I had noticed during my runs: 1. Dev ghosts never use slide spin, so you it gives you a nice advantage 2. You can skip jumps by sliding through gaps. Especially useful on levels like Hit the road and Jetboard Jetty 3. Although not universal, proper slide spinning puts lesser strain onto your fingers than triple spin 4. Once mastered, it is really satisfying to do Anyway, good luck with your runs
Good luck man. after watching the platinum relics series, i decided to go for 106% and all 38 dev relics. Studying levels from other youtube videos helped me a lot
Congrats, i've been trying to do these quite recently since i got all platinum relics in the N.sane trilogy If i remember correctly i have the developer relic for Rude awakening, N.sanity peak, hit the road, booty calls, hook line and sinker, off balance, home cooking, run it bayou, no dillo dallying, stay frosty, bears repeating, building bridges, dino dash, and cortex castle. Just subbed and i'll be watching your career with great interest
Genuinely can't believe you're actually attempting these, I thought I'd never see the day where you go for something like this. What's even crazier is that Rude Awakening is generally regarded to be one of the tighter dev relics, so relative to your plat series you are struggling a lot less than I'd expect. Like I always said before, absolute best of luck with these times, you WILL need it, and this time I'd wager you definitely won't have already completed a bunch after an episode uploads. Would be interesting to see you attempt something harder than the dev times in CTRNF too, I'd say if you put your mind to it you could get some top 200-100 times there.
i remember laughing at your performance during the trilogy's platinum series. but i'll admit you're really good at crash 4, i couldn't even get the platinum on the first level🤕
You're gonna really like the crash levels (without vehicles), the tech is actually really fun, besides the timeline levels and the second world, it's actually not that hard once you get slide spinnging down, good luck mate
You really inspired me with your time trial relics, and it made me want to do the platinum relics myself, which I did on the N. Sane Trilogy and Crash 4, and even did the dev times on CTRNF, and now I'm currently doing the Dev Times on Crash 4 as well, I'm trying to beat the time on Potion Commotion currently. If you read this and want any tips I used during the runs, here are some :) Try to use the slide spin as frequently as possible, especially during chase sequences, so it's a good idea to get used to it, but during jumps and areas where you don't feel that safe, use the triple spin. / In the Akano levels, you can use the triple spin to gain speed, and right when you're in the third spin, activate Akano and jump, this will give you a huge speed boost if done correctly, and devs dont use it, so it'll give you a big advantage. / Never use the restart button, as it takes much longer than just dying on purpose. / You can jump on top of Nitros, and if you immediately press jump on top of it too, you can jump on it, giving you a nice height boost, which can be used in specific levels (e.g Potion Commotion's start), you still take damage though. / In most Tawna levels that have some wall jump sections, you can skip the first wall jump, so you could try to gain some time by double jumping into the second wall jump. / Attacking with Tawna slightly lowers your speed while walking, so if possible it's better to jump on crates or enemies. Those are main tips I could think of for now, so if anyone reads this, I hope it helps, good luck on the Dev Times :)
13:10 No, you did get it, but the problem is that the timer keeps going until the screen cuts to crash on the results screen, NOT when you touch the golden crate at the end of the level.
Wow you’ve lost your marbles mate aha! Nah in all honesty good luck! I just finished getting 106% the other week was actually really fun! I’m personally done with Crash 4, these are just a little to much for me but I’ll enjoy watching 😅
There was a guy who managed to get all the Crystal Relics without Triple Spin or the Slide Spin. Abdularabic I believe is there name. Perhaps look into what they did and that might help ease the tension and your fingers.
The hardest toys for bob relics 10- Blast to the past 9- rock blocked 8- Rush hour 7- Fossil fueled 6- Crash landed 5- Cortex castle 4- A real grind 3- Shipping error 2- Jetboard jetty 1- Toxic tunnels
8:25 - What I did was jump on that TNT crate instead as the bug was 100% unreliable for me. Yes it was tad slower than your time, but was far more consistent for me personally. I even had some of those relics recorded when you were going for the platinum relics.
Oh my god, the game should fuck itself, at 13:00, no matter you hit the big transparent crate... it's STILL has the guts to COUNT the time further! It should be freeze immadietly! Because you DID hit the said end level crate with 31:22, therefore you already should earned the Dev Relic. FFS, I watched turning the video slower, and it's show it gets spin first, but the game doesn't care. Unfair, idiotic mechanic, it boils my blood so bad. And I just started to pick up the Platinum Relic videos - not all but most - because I got burnt out of Crash 4, holding a grudge against the game. It's too hard for me, the rail sections, the wallruns and walljumps are on my nerves with masks like Lani-Loni. And here we are having you see torturing yourself with the dev times. Man... I salute to you, ngl.
NO WAY HE’S ACTUALLY DOING IT
Came here to say this! 🎉
Well if theres no crash 5, might as well appreciate what we have. So might as well squeeze everything out of crash
This is what no crash 5 will do to a man
Lol
lol
Frrr
Gym and Crash 4 is the solution
what you mean they'll make a crash 5 surely
Good luck with these, man. I hope you don't get burned out like I did. Glad my video was helpful!
10:17 bro put on the aku mask irl💀
Fr 💀
Respect. Good luck, Lewis, for getting the dev relics
NO BLOODY WAY YOU'RE DOING THIS MATE! GOOD LUCK
6:08 this was the moment lewis locked tf in
Elden Ring, Dark Souls 2, Minecraft Platinum, OG Crash 3 Relics, now Crash 4 Dev times... Dude, you're insane
bro is becoming a pro gamer. While i used to laugh at his competence 🤣🤣🤣
Don't forget the the dev times on ctr
@@МиткоКуртев-к1н yeah it was back then, but now its all at once 🤣

Woah .... This series will be LEGENDARY .

very true
The real grind was the first level that i got stuck on myself

Wumpa Lewis is going to self-impose a straightjacket onto himself just like Ripper Roo anyday now!!!
What a madlad, he's actually doing it!
Good luck on those Purple Relics. It'll be quite a journey that's for sure
at this point lewis should straight up just start speedrunning every crash bandicoot game just for fun
I'm gonna need a time lapse of Lewis with increasingly sunken eyes and longer beard as this series goes on.
Lew, this is huge game changer ( like the U turn in ctr )

I'm playing Crash 4 blind for the first time, watching you from the beginning doing the times will be a good help lol

I’ve beaten all Dev Times myself, wishing you the best of luck! As you get more comfortable you’ll get them way easier. Can’t wait to see you get them!
I did not think you would even entertain the idea of getting dev times! I will gladly chip in for your inevitable therapy sessions this game causes!

curious as to why you mention the second world, is it hard / not fun?
the fact that crash 5 probably will take 8 years hurts. 16:03
