America belongs to the native Americans. If Africans are outsiders then Europeans who settled there are actually colonisers. If they credit themselves for developing the country, the Afro Americans have a much greater role in developing the country as well.

I am an African American woman whose ancestry is not of my choice, and it is strongly possible not to be the choice of my enslaved African ancestors. My ancestry includes at least two white men who fought in the Revolutionary War and a great grandparent who fought on the side of the Confederacy. According to my birthright, I am an African American. I had uncles who served honorably in the military in WW2 and the Korean War. I admire the young man's action. I'm past the time of showing patience and acts of humility toward the words, deeds, and overt actions of racists. I am not going anywhere. You made this my country, so live with me in it.

What a powerful reminder that strength doesn’t always come from shouting; sometimes it comes from standing tall and speaking with grace. Darrell's words weren’t just for the elderly woman-he spoke for everyone who’s ever felt unseen, unheard, or unworthy. His response shows us that anger may spark the fire, but dignity is what fuels change. Moments like these plant seeds of reflection and growth, proving that kindness and truth can challenge ignorance in ways that force can’t. This story truly shows that kindness and dignity can break down walls of ignorance in ways that aggression never could. Im now in her little english town, my mother in law is always trying to offend me, insulting me, in a passive agressive British way. But This Holy days, i feel different than before, i feel, and im sure, that arguing with her is to become like her, and so im just giving her back, pure compassion and kindness... She only respond like the old lady in the story, but i feel, that my baby girl deserves It, i deserve It, and my mother in law deserves It, because, im the one that is acting with dignity and Christian LOVE, and her soul is suffering, being secretly racist towards me... I Hope everybody understands, that we all, are, one.

"Darrell’s calm, dignified response to the elderly woman’s hateful words was a masterclass in strength and resilience. Instead of anger, he chose to educate and inspire, sharing the sacrifices and contributions of his ancestors. His words not only silenced the room but also planted a seed of reflection and change in everyone who witnessed it. It’s a powerful reminder that grace and truth can often achieve what confrontation cannot-uniting people in understanding rather than dividing them further. This moment was truly unforgettable."

Since moving to the UK from Africa eight years ago, I've been told to "go back where you came from" three times. I've also witnessed numerous other racist incidents. Whenever these situations arise, I remind myself of the many kind and open-minded people I've met. I think of all the positive things others have done for me. After some reflection, I choose to forgive, but I always make sure to inform them that such behaviour is a crime punishable by law in England.

Kudos to the young man. But it broke my heart that no one stood with him to say this was wrong. In a room full of people, he stood alone. Silence allows the aggressor to believe that they have support, or, at the very least, permission for their actions. Don't just "be inspired" by stories like this. Stand up, and stand with. Be the force for change, and making this a better world.

It’s a poignant reminder that hate is not inherent - it’s taught - and just as it is learned, it can be unlearned. Stories like these inspire growth, compassion, and a deeper understanding of others. It’s a call for change, for love to triumph over prejudice. Truly, a thought-provoking and heart-stirring message that stays with you long after the story ends."
