Thank you! I’ve been following you since your Bard review (which is what got me into the order in 2017). I am currently in the midst of the Ovate course and I have to admit to you, dear Dani, that I have had more of a struggle this time. With my career and life changes since late last year, I am not able to complete the gwersi as fast as I did in the Bard course. The material is more challenging than last time for sure. I knew that I wanted to be an Ovate before I began the course and I *thought* that this would be hand in glove simplicity. Not so! I guess I’d say I was stumbling through this time when I though I would be sailing. I like how you addressed the “looking back” aspect after completing all three courses. I can certainly see how I have changed and grown and the influences the order has had upon me. Thank you for your encouragement! And thank you for being sort of an inadvertent mentor for my journey. Love your instagrams...it helps me see the real life applications of Druid practice in a lovely setting. Where I live (suburban Houston), it isn’t possible to be in an outdoor setting except for concrete, extreme heat and noise. Thank you again for taking the time to share your talents. Finding my Grove one blade of grass at a time, Liz
First off Liz, that sign off is perfect for an urban druid 🥰 I'm thrilled I could be a little part of your journey. I so get the struggle with the Ovate. St one point I had to set the studies aside and stew in something else. I was angry at the mystery parts and just had some shit to work through. No shame in the way you work and live through the Ovate. There is a lot to explore there and you got to linger and grow through it in the way YOU need to! On the urban side of things, you are doing the Druid work in the place that needs it the most 🙏 so much respect. It's "harder" to connect but richer in the city and so, so needed. Thank you for sharing an update!
Indeed I've spent about 9 years with the Bardic grade good stuff. Sadly though I've not had great experiences with the forums. I also find it odd that I've mentioned OBOD to others and they are reluctant because of the price. yet you are talking about the price for a basic class in anything and at a monthly rate really is doable. not to mention just so so so much material.
Here is how I saw it for myself....It isn't cheap to produce the material and mail it all off and not to mention the time it takes to put it all together and run offices, etc. That makes it easier for me to pay the money.
Congrats on completing the OBOD coursework! I love your tattoo. I started my Bardic grade a year ago, but life derailed me for awhile. I'm beginning again, from the beginning, and re-watching many of your videos. I must admit, I do look forward to the Ovate grade as the Bardic grade does feel very 101 level, but that's ok. It will just be encouragement for me to finish. :)
Watching your Bardic grade Review 3 years ago was decisive to get me started in the Order courses, and now I'm close to my last Ovate gwersi. Thank you so much for your videos!
Thanks for the great review! I started the Bardic Course about a year ago and working on it as time permits. I then plan to go on to the Ovate Course. I love the way the course is presented and being able to work at my own pace is absolutely the only way I could do it. Peace and love!
I started the Bard grade about five months ago. I read the first collection of Gwer's and then promptly got buried in nursing school requirements and stopped my bard studies:( My hope is to start up again full force after graduation. I think I just overbooked myself during this time but the desire is still there and eventually I will get there. I think (based on your reviews) i might be stopping with the Ovate grade. The future will tell! Thanks for your awesome reviews!
My immense respect goes out to you studying to be a nurse. That is a hard job that does so much good for our communities. The lovely thing about the courses is you can drop the studies and pick them up when you want. No pressure to finish by a certain time or deadlines to fit in with the other elements of your life. Good luck with nursing school and I hope you do choose to pick them back up when things settle down a bit.
Hi from Ireland 🇮🇪 I'm new to this beautiful knowledge.i have heard a calling and wonder if it's the path of druidry.i enjoy your videos.and am feeling the Celtic way is my path.
Thank you for another great review! This gives me renewed vigor to tackle the ovate course. I really enjoy the structure of the course and it brings so much inspiration. Although I call AODA my mother Order, the OBOD courses provide an amazing companion to my work there and OBOD as an order itself is such a wonderful group. Also, I absolutely LOVE your necklace!
I'm thrilled the course brings you inspiration! It's very interesting to hear the comparison from Druids on the different orders' courses/training. Part of me is curious to explore other orders but I think for now I'll bask in OBOD a while longer. The necklace is by Julie Brett. She's a Druid in Australia and sells these pendents on Facebook.
I am so excited for your new journey. Thank you for making all of these videos. I am 43 and just signed up for OBOD… beyond thrilled to come out if my Druid closet lol!!
Thank you very much Danni for your Videos about the coursework of Obod. They helped me to make my decision about taking the courses. I'm starting with the bardic course this month and looking forward to start learning. This video and the video about the ovate course encourages me to maybe keep up learning after finishing the barde grade.
my wife finished it all but she was not impressed with the Druid Grade, she preferred the Ovate.Although now we have brought Norse traditions into our druidry. Well done to you by the way,the journey starts now lol I have never done the course as i do not need to,but i know a lot that get a lot from it
I can see how the Ovate might have more appeal, there is just more mystic and magic in the Ovate than the Druid course. It's neat that you can see both sides of someone using the coursework and your own path without it. So many ways to Druid!
Congratulations on completing all the OBOD coursework. I've been working my way through the OBOD Bardic course since January. Your videos were very influential in helping me to decide that this is the right path for me, and I am really glad to have found it - thank you. Now that you're done with all three grades, I'm sure you will continue to contribute greatly to your local community; and I hope that you will continue to extend your ideas and gifts to the web community at large as well.
I love your reviews of the OBOD coursework, and of the druidry-related books in general! Like Blaidd, the AODA is my 'home-order' so to speak. They have a very different structure, where in each level you are able to choose whether you want to explore bardic, ovate or druid arts. I am still in my Candidacy, as I have been for over 2 years now. That is the same time I have been working with the BDO bardic grade course, which is incredibly rich as well. I feel very at home as a bard, delving into personal and spiritual development using this artsy side. So I expect I will also sign up for the OBOD bardic grade in the future, to work with it some more and from a different perspective yet again. Judging from your review, I would love to someday reach the Druid grade as well.
Thank you Danni for another inspiring video, I am so very proud of you! I am also inspired by your achievement and have to say you are one of reasons I to chose OBOD as the Order I wanted to join. I hope you deliver more of your wonderful insights as you continue to explore the path of Druidry.
Hello!! awesome review. I currently doing the Bardic grade with plans to move into the Ovate grade. Ovate having been my ultimate goal, not sure as yet if I will go on to the Druid grade. As always love watching all the videos you post even if I don’t always comment. Recently travelled to Scotland, was there for 2 weeks and can hardly wait to go back, for me the Stone Circles and the incredible trees made the whole 2 weeks feel like I was in a magickal and beautiful grove, in a strange way my time there confirmed for me how right my Druid practice is for me. 🌲🐉🧚♂️🐲💛
I've never felt drawn to this sort or formal study, but I definitely appreciate the insight and love the fact something like this exists. Anything that can bring druids together and help us as individuals is a good thing as far as I can see. Also, love the tattoo, congrats🙂
I'm about four months into the ovate grade and I love it. Even though I'm a professional musician I enjoy the ovate grade more than the bard grade. I like the deeper mystical stuff. If that makes sense. But thank you for your videos I really enjoyed all of them.grade.
The deeper parts of the Ovate really are exciting to explore. I enjoyed the bard grade for sure, but I really savored the journey where I got to continue on and see other sides of the Order's teachings. Many blessings on your Ovate journey!
Thank you I just finished the Bardic grade but haven't yet asked to move on to Ovate. Do you have a photo of your bound book? I just followed you on IG

Your trip to Scotland sounds absolutely magical! I'm glad it helped affirm your druidry. The Ovate grade is a lovely goal and a good fit for many.

Yep, not for everyone but is a wonderful community building tool for those who it works for. It's always great to hear your perspective here!
Thank you for your awesome videos, Danni! I have watched them and you helped me decide to join the order and I have started my Bardic course. xo
Woot! I hope the bardic course brings you magic and delight!

This gave me all sorts of new motivation to finish my Bardic grade!
Oh good I'm glad! There is a lot of deliciousness in the bard course
Wonderful! I just signed up for the Bardic Course and got my first set of gwersi.
Welcome to the order!
Are you still practicing in obod or have you moved on to another order's teachings?
I’m working on ovate myself, been almost a year now!!
There is so much in the Ovate to discover; thanks for the update 🤗
You are very inspiring.
Thank you I just finished the Bardic grade but haven't yet asked to move on to Ovate. Do you have a photo of your bound book? I just followed you on IG
I do...I think I show it on the bardic grade review video but I'll see if I can post it on IG this week for you.
I did not know you had an Instagram! Just followed! :)
Huzzah! See you on IG!
♥️♥️♥️
What capacity does the Druid grade possess for developing one's focus for, or interest in, social justice?
They gave you Ovate before Druid?
Yep. Bard then Ovate then Druid.
