      Normal is what and whom you are surrounded with. When Jay started way back when. His idea of Normal was different than what it is today. Example: if you are in a low income bracket. Normal to you may be having food on the table and a cheap car to drive. Rich may look like the middle class to you. But Jay has been around the rich and affluent long enough that Normal has changed drastically for him. Lamborghini and Ferrari are normal ideals to him. Whether it’s a tractor or a collector car or a new one out on the streets of where he lives. He has the every man mentality which is nice. Also not knowing him just what I see he likes to be generous with his toys he doesn’t seem a snob. And although he dresses in blue jeans. He would like to believe in the fact that he is just one of the guys. Even if you had no clue to who he is if you got him talking about automobiles it wouldn’t take long to figure out he wasn’t just some average guy at a car show or out cruising around. Not to say he wouldn’t take you for a ride if you asked. How cool would that be.

    You know what I love about this show and what appears to me, is that Jay Leno seems to truly have a love for the engineering and design of these machines. from Motorcycles and high end sports cars to little 2 cylinder air cooled vehicles and large trucks. I appreciate that the most, no brand is ignored, no model is looked down upon.(flaws will be pointed out..though) appreciating the craft of going from an idea to a drawing, clay and then fully engineering every aspect of the whole machine. plus, every time he drives a performance car and pins somebody in the passenger seat while accelerating, always causes a grin to force its way out as well getting that feeling in my chest. I am so glad that there are people out there that appreciate these classics and are happy to show them to all of us.

      Not me, I don't even have a driving licence, but my parents had some different vehicles, including a Renault, a Mercedes, a Ferrari, and a Barkas. The Mercedes was a truck, the Ferrari a vineyard tractor but even smaller, and the Barkas was a van from a DDR brand, bought just after German reunification, when they tried to sell them in the West for bargain prices, unfortunately they failed quite soon after. But I can say I have driven a Ferrari.

    Craig Kulig You've ever driven a tractor before? Nothing can beat them. The torque is just insane because of their enormous engines and low gearing. This lamborghini tractor is actually very small. There are giant monsters with tracks being made today that weighs up to 25 tons. They can pull fully loaded heavy trailers weighing 30 tons through mud.

    I though Jay's comment that the tractor styling seemed dated and more like 1940's was odd. Frankly, for the late 1960's, this was an advanced Tractor. I had a 1941 Ford 9N, and that was very art deco. This tractor looks more, well, 1970's at least.

Part of the "SLH" merged company ( SAME / Lamborghini / Hurliman ). It had a water cooled engine, and was almost the same tractor as another uncle's Deutz, that had an cooled engine.

    The funniest part was when jay said he would have guessed this to be from the 40s XD compared to American tractors of the time... It looks about like any other 60s-70s tractor out there. Ferguson didn't even invent the 3point hitch until the late 30s early 40s let alone having a diesel tractor from the 40s ....XD look at the 8n and the farmall H vs this thing is is leaps and bounds ahead of those. beauty of a tractor wouldn't mind seeing how it does in front of my hay swather ...

    We have a 69 Massey Ferguson that looks more like a 40s tractor . This Lambo looks look way more modern than a 1940s or 50s tractor .
    Very cool and a 85 horse tractor is a beast!

      The 14 gears help to exploit the Torque for pulling power just as the school buses have a 6 cylinder . Those dump trucks that carry large load have a huge rear differential at about 50:1 where is loses the high speed but could pull a house.

    That sure doesn't look like an orchard tractor. Looks like a standard puller.
    The sheet metal on the hood should come up and over the steering wheel. Sometimes they even offered a small windshield of sorts that was tilted back inline with the sheet metal for improved visibility. The fenders should look like something batman would create. They usually cover the rear wheel down to the axle on the outside and swoop down to the bottom of the tractor in the front of the fender. These are common features to nearly every orchard tractor that keep the controls and operator from being whipped and the orchard limbs and vines from getting caught in the wheels.

    He indeed had Lamborghini - bulldozer! It was made before Lambo began making high performance cars.

    Lots of torque for a 1960s 85 hp tractor. 350 ft lbs would put lots of new tractors to rest.

    • @thejafuu5001
      @thejafuu5001 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really, new tractors have atleast hundreds if not thousands of ft lbs of torque.
      edit: also new tractors have more gears and dual clutch transmissions.
