Jimmy, stop overthinking everything. You CAN DO IT!!

Thought we would at least know what salt he would be using

Build a stand put the rodi on top with a 3/4” uniseal and ball valve in it and the saltwater mixing can on bottom. I would pump it, easier to wipe up a few drips than pushing that can and it getting tipped over. 44 gallons of saltwater and he is mopping it up for days lol.

We want to show what a beginner would to do keep it simple before we replace it with an automated system :)

@@Saltwateraquariumdotcom Nothing is automated, just using a gravity drain from top to bottom. Use 1 mag drive 5 sitting inside bottom barrel to mix. Then use the same pump with 1/2” female barb and 1/2” vinyl tubing, along with a extension cord ran to the aquarium to start and stop the pump. When mixing remove the tubing and plug the pump in at the mixing station. Your into it For $150 and could show new reefers a easy cheap mixing station with virtual little to no plumbing skills required, much like the aquarium was.

You're part of the reaosn why there's a rift between the salt and freshwater community, why can't people like both? Also if your freshwater tank is dirty, you're doing it wrong

Nothing against freshwater over there right 😭
Try to run that reef tank without your fancy skimmer and for sure it'll be as dirty as a freshwater. Even worse everything inside will probably die rather soon 😅

A lot of people don't use skimmers. I don't on my tank. Why tf would everything die without a skimmer? The only mechanical filtration I use on my tank is a filter sock.

If it's me I'll remove the two upper cabinets and maybe the left side of the lower cabinet and mount your containers of highs maybe you can get gravity fed to get to your aquarium instead of using a pump and you can use the lower cabinet for storage

I agree with Michael Baldwin. Remove left wall cabinet and countertop. Build 2x4 stand on left side to hold rodi container up top and salt mix container with wheels on bottom. Finish it with doors like the current cabinet if you want. Use base cabinet and put in a sink. Better usage and resale. Put rodi unit in base cabinet. You could also put shelving between that build and the wall cabinet you left to finish it off. Place rodi unit in base cabinet and run clean line up to rodi until with float valve. Plum the rodi container to be able to fill the salt container or any thing else you’d want to fill up.
