- I've been on the search for a secondary character in Season 2 of SF6, and Marisa was one that I wanted to try out. While it might not seem like she changed all that much, she did get some pretty significant buffs to her safe jump and damage output. On top of that, she's just a lot of fun.
Street Fighter 6 is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

God damn, been going back to my Marisa and suddenly Nephew just updates my entire damn gameplan.
That’s my favorite thing about Marisa is she nukes both health and drive gauge. I don’t care if you block or not.
Glad you're enjoying Marisa! She's a fun character who has dozens of safe jumps and hits like a truck; with plenty of tech hidden under the hood. For example, Marisa has a strong burnout checkmate from mid-screen. Apply the standing heavy punch target combo, the one where Marisa flings both of her fists forward, into back heavy punch. Thereafter, cancel into DI or Drive Rush if you're not close to the wall and repeat; going back to standing heavy punch target combo. It is fairly demanding as the back heavy punch needs to be (near) frame perfect to connect. However, it is a strong option to keep in your back pocket. Looking forward to more Marisa content! Cheers!
I love playing Marissa, getting those big hitting combos and that command grab feels great every time. I do get tired of feeling like I'm having to chase most players around the stage until I get them in the corner.

Marisa's biggest downfall is anti airs the rest she is just a menace
I use the Philly shell for easier anti airs, you ain’t wrong though.
@@blubeard6914 That's the same effect as doing AA perfect parry but with less reward.
@@gaegraga3738 I’m not the best at doing perfect parries for aa. Also it’s not like she needs help in doing damage, and on empty jump-ins I can attack right away.
She has another issue tbh her lights are so weak they need to be changed

There really are no bad characters, only players that try to swim with a bird because they can't figure out flying.

There's no character that makes you say - "Oh wait am I dead??" more than Marisa :D
she got more buffs than nerfs in patch 2 and is still upper mid-tier/lower high-tier imo. the standing kick whiff punish and charged heavy buffs let her obliterate drive guage. big bird dropped her because her win rate is volatile but i still think we'll see Marisa doing well. also playing her vs gief is hella fun lol

You can punish DRev with cLP into MP TC, also, for those using the corner safe jump at +42, if you tap parry after hitting the HK in the air (not held version) you will OS parry for DP reversals

Thank god someone picked up Marisa. Heartbreaking when heard Big Bird is abanding her, good to see someone picking her up.

Let’s be honest here, zangeif and Marisa could be a couple
I feel like the main thing about Marisa that you need to nail is that you have to act like a Wall and know what moves to Armor through in matchups. Marisa has a similar attribute to Zangief in this respect as long as you can nail the reads, learn how to keep up aggression and get your throw techs your golden.
Marisa is fascinating as a character though

yes...Marisa is a very good and effective character against Gief and Guile which Juri will struggle most. Rest of characters can be handled by Juri.

Does 214LP & OD not anti-air fairly well? Seems to work for me but maybe I don't know abt smt.
they both work in certain situations, but they both come out slow, spacing is weird, and obviously cant be cross cut reliably (I know 214 P works on dahlsim teleport, but also fairly finicky)
a DP is just way more reliable and better in a majority of situations.
I wanted to add Gief as my secondary but..I dont know if I have the patience for him..lol Damn Marisa is looking good.

I remember testing against Honda’s butt slam and Marisa won out a lot of the time even when done on a slow reaction
But it’s been a while since I’ve played, so not sure if that isn’t the case anymore
@@GEMINIVice1 it's air invincible, very slow, has horrific coverage, which is why you won't see it used to antiair anything but the most obvious softball jumpins/dives. i've watched hours of big bird uploads and probably seen it twice. in a sane world you would use it for things like akuma air fireball, but go try doing that vs humans and the spacing/timing never works out, sadly.
you're right though, i do believe the devs assumed marisa would use it for antiair a lot more than she's proven able to, and i was really hoping it would see an adjustment in the recent big patch (even if nerfed elsewhere, it would just be more fun to play)
what you were experiencing was someone trying to input gladius, but getting randomly crossed up by buttslam so qcb came out instead of qcf (playing vs honda is very cool like that)
