The v10 was introduced as an alternative to the diesel for those who didn’t want the Cummins but the Cummins built such a great reputation that people eventually started choosing the diesel over the iron block v10. The truck v10 only shared a few bolts with the viper v10.
They got rid of it because the cummins was preferred. The v10 was an expensive gas guzzler and the cummims at the time was cheaper to maintain, use, and fill up.

This was 1994. A 300-horsepower V10 pickup truck was incredible at the time.

shadow demon Shoot; the 460 in my 1997 F350 is only rated at 240hp. Something like 400ft/lbs in the early 2,xxx rpm range.
450 lb ft tq though..I heard they move pretty damn good, awesome trucks if you can afford the gas
Stuff stuff and More stuff they are really fun to drive and the gas is not that bad and mines lifted on 35s with a 5spd

CamaroAmx the V10 would get replaced in 2009 by the 5.7 and 6.4 Hemi V8s.
