By budgeting, do you mean her vocal mastery of phrasing? She learned so much from her grandmother Mery’s old jazz singer greats as a tiny child.

This is not a cover - This was Angelina;'s first single from her recently released EP Old Enough - there are six songs total - all original - each one is from Angelina's own journals and tells a story and deserves a reaction. She has stated that she has written about 100 songs and wants to share them all at some point.
This 'Old Enough' EP is simply spectacular. It gives a good idea of where she is now musically and her voice is just as stunning as always. By the way, that's her grandmother, Mery, in the car with her. 😎

You're right that David Guetta released a song titled "Love Don't Let Me Go" back in 2006, but that's where the similarities end, Elizabeth. Totally different lyrics and music. This is an Angelina original. I love your descriptions of Angelina's voice and singing ability and how she has refined her craft over the years. I think you are totally right that Angelina makes it all look and sound "effortless!"

Note that her comment was based on the fact that David Guetta had a song named Love Don't Let Me Go in 2007. Completely different song, of course, but same name. If you hear the Guetta song with that same title you will appreciate Angelina uniqueness and musical ingenuity even more. She is the original master artist 👣🧡🧡🙌❣️
She let us know at a recent interview in Norway.. RR had spend her an own Studio to create more own songs very soon. A full Album is announced for the fall and she's preparing a worldwide Tour ✌️ she's written already a lot of own songs in her bookshelf waiting for the final production. Her career is just starting with 17y of Age, amazing 😍🎉

A little error in the title: this is not a cover but an original :-) She released her EP ‘Old Enough’ with 6 songs on it with this being one of them. It has a retro pop feeling to me with dash of Jazz, Blues and Soul but also newer influences such as rap. It’s really awesome!
In September she has a concert coming in Portsmouth NH in the Music Hall: ‘An evening with Angelina Jordan’. Last time I checked there were a few tickets still left: anyone able to go there, better be quick before someone else beats you to it! :-)

Her OLD ENOUGH EP is the best I've heard since Amy's masterpiece BACK TO BLACK. I love that Angelina has continued down this old school jazz RB style as it suits her voice. Amy reintroduced this style and her passing left a void that Angelina is way way more than capable of filling. Thanks Elizabeth, your the best.

This is her first release from the new 6-song EP "Old Enough", and all 6 songs are Angelina Jordan originals. So, not a cover. The woman in the car is grandma Mery Zamani, who has been the most influencial person on her singing career. From my perspective, every song on this EP is Terrific. If Angelina was better know worldwide, she would have 6 hit songs here. That may still happen as she becomes more recognized. What a Talent!! I would add that these songs grow on you with repeated listenings; each just gets better and better.
Angelina has been working on her craft for ten! years now (at 17), meaning she has had time to digest loads of music and styles and has a vast pool to pull from when it comes to creating her own personal interpretations of music. She had un uncanny ear/ability from the very start, see "You put a spell on me" performed at nine. It is safe to say that no nine year old has ever performed with that maturity and confidence! It is of course worth pointing out that this tune is an original, one of many.

Yes, yes, that line you speak of it's like the Lion Tamer keeping it in check, but allowing you to know she can take that amazing instruments her Lion out...though doesn't. I am heartened to hear she still has masked that Lion. Though I long....long to hear her let that Lion out and 😂 and I know she is teasing us. And her dynamic range is only maturing and grown... Her tone. her Timber... remains just as we felt in her younger performances. ❤
Her talent is well beyond anything I’ve ever heard. There are many talented artist but her ability and stylistic choices at this age are insane.
A true professional makes their craft look easy. Angelina is definitely a true professional. She can do things with her voice that many artists can only dream of. With this single and the other 5 songs off her EP “Old Enough” she has made her statement that she is here for the long term and she’s going to do it her way. I have no question. That since you are so excited about this original you’re going to be blown away with all the her originals on the EP. She has stated that all of the songs on the full album will be originals. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with the diverse samplings and how brilliantly written and produced every song on the EP is. Angelina wrote, co-wrote and co-produced every song on the EP.
Angelina is releasing her first album later this year. I’m hoping it happens before Christmas.

Hi Elizabeth - love your reactions, especially for Angela. I recently listened to your reaction of Unchained Melody by Booby Hatfield and this version has always been a big favourite of mine. However, I recently discovered AJ's version of this which she sang with the KORK orchestra at last year's Noble Peace Prize presentation. It is absolutely beautiful. I recommend you listen to it even if you don't do a reaction. There is now also a cover of "If I Were A Boy" which is in my opinion her best yet.
I enjoyed your analysis of Angelina's unique voice development and her chosen vocal style. Also, her ability to tell a story of lost love pouring her heart and soul into her performance.

Late at night many years ago I got lost in a youtube rabbit hole and landed on this little girl with an unbelievable voice. Most child singers have a sound that gives away their age. But with this girl she had such an eerily magical tone that had no right to be produced by such a young singer. I was hooked on the sound instantly. I can't wait to see where her voice takes her. Certainly destined to be considered among the greatest voices in the 21st century.

Lovely analysis Elizabeth, I absolutely loved it. This EP it's so intense and passionate, I still can't decide which song to prefer... but as usual with Angelina, the result is, obviously all of them. She is absolutely stunning in vocal talent and technique but also with her wonderful lyrics, is of one uniqueness so evident and her voice is so incredibly captivating and piercing! I love her fantastic ability to mix old and new in music, is another of her amazing features. Even if you can't react to all of them, you definitely have to listen to the other 5 tracks too, even if it's just for your own pleasure, they are so particular and different but also extremely stimulating for a vocal coach! 💛🧡❤

Yesterday, 2023 December 11th, Angelina has performed "Unchained Melody" live with an orchestra in Oslo, Norway during a Nobel Peace award event. So, more recent than that you can't get it when you like to see how far Angelina has come since she performed in Norway Got talent, 10 years ago... You can find the video on Boris Parenovski's channel.
Her queen cover was mesmerising
I were in two minds when she was younger but her voice has grown on me... love her tone. She has an unique voice different to the run of the mill pop or contemporary artists.
She is destined for a great career
The woman in ghat visualisation is Mery, her grandmother, an artist and poet. She is also Angelina's inspiration sometimes her videographer and still photographer. She and Abgeliba's Mother Ssara, as well as her sister are almost invariably found in the audience. Sara has long blonde (died) hair.

This is Angelina's original, she's not only a world class singer. She said that she has 100 songs written and had to pick a few for this EP. She's with her sweet grandmother in the car. I think she's a magnet for skilled musicians and producers. I'm completely in love with her voice and lyrics. My only regret is I will not be able to see her entire career, being 50 years old. She's another reason (besides my kids, of course!) to stay healthy and in shape, hehe!
This song/video sent me back to another era, started thinking about artists like Dusty Springfield and her song Spooky. Also I think the Moody Blues performing Nights in White Satin would be a really enjoyable one for Elizabeth to have on her channel.
This is an Angelina original, Elizabeth. There's no doubt we can hear a little of Adele and a little of Amy Winehouse (and a few others, too) but I believe it is time to recognize the extraordinary sound that belongs to Angelina. In fact, may I ask you a question? Have you ever heard anyone who has the vocal and artistic attributes which she has? The age factor is something that we are all in awe of but it has to be dismissed when we critique what she is doing. Your commentary is wonderful and you have marveled how wonderful she has progressed as she as gotten older. But, Elizabeth, personally (and I'm not alone) I believe she is on a level right now which has lofted her to a height unreachable by most. I understand you concentrate on the musical end of what you are listening to (technically speaking) but there is so much more which is going on, isn't there? Her soulfulness touches our hearts with a love so pure she can bring tears to our eyes. She is a wonderful human being and when she gave her shoes to a unfortunate girl (who had scarred and bloody feet) about her age when she was 6 years old and decided to sing barefoot whenever she sang to people in public because she never wanted to forget that little girl and remember there are children in the world who don't even own a pair of shoes. She had these thoughts at 6 years old. She is kind, caring and loving and by touching our hearts with her love she has inspired us to be kinder, more caring and loving than we ever have been before in our lives. IT MUST be included in understanding what is going on when she sings 'for us'. Vocally and artistically she stands alone and when you add her genuine soulfulness and storytelling qualities to her performances, is there any wonder we love her so much. And, Elizabeth, this is still only the beginning. She is, right now, bursting out of her bubble and by the end of 2024 there will be tens of millions of people around the world who will discover her. Do we expect them to act any differently than we have?
