  • Modulating a synthesizer's filter using mushroom electricity.
There have been many attempts to use electrophysiology in performance arts. One of the common ideas in the field is mushroom music, and specifically routing the output of "the mushroom" into the pitch input of the synth. However, signals that we receive from a mycelium block are rather random, which doesn't make for what is conventionally called music. This project explores what happens when electric signals are preprocessed and routed into other inputs of a synth, with the most successful being filter modulation. Made with a PC, Andrew Adamatzky's dataset (Cordyceps militari) and a Korg Minilogue.
