@@gloomy.autumn he's amazing!! He's almost 2 years old and he's such a wonderful dog! He's (mostly) so we'll behaved! Haha honestly, I didn't keep up as much as I should have with training as life gets busy but even still, he's so incredible! I did do my best to stick to the McCann training and I would say I did 85%! It's all worth it in the end!

Pro tip: on the first night, do not let your puppy nap for 3-4 hours before you plan on going to bed for the night otherwise you’ll be up all night 🙃
I heard that you're supposed to let them sleep as long as needed and not wake them? Like if they sleep through a feeding to let them do so. Has that changed? Getting a puppy in a few weeks so trying to get all the notes together :).
@@Jaxamuss this was only on the first night! I was so lucky and my corgi puppy was an easy sleeper and she still is at almost 3 years old now! I know my friend had to make sure to tire her puppy out 3-4 hour prior to bed time otherwise her pup would keep her up but I know all dogs are different! Good luck and congrats on the new fur baby!
I’m fighting back the tears watching this video while I’m waiting a few more week to pick up our corgi puppy! When she ran to him and when she snuggled her in the car, so heartwarming! I can’t wait to see her excited face! I’ve been learning so much from your videos to set our puppy up for success from the moment we get him!

I got my puppy last April and even though he’s being full on teenager he still has the same loving eyes and happiness he had when I picked him up! It’s such a great feeling having those eyes look at you 😍 Good luck to everyone getting a new puppy! McCann’s are really great!
Your method works! My first day and night with my new 8 week old puppy was great. Peed outside before bed and again at 3am. This morning she knew exactly what to do as soon as I took her out of her crate. Yay! 😃👍🎶

LOVE the bedside table tip! I actually did this exactly with Finnegan in his crate for the first two weeks. It helped a lot! It's hard for them if they've been separated from their siblings so it's nice for you to be there for them !! you guys are awesome!! what an adorable puppy

I really loved this video because throughout her whole delivery on the different aspects of trying THE PUPPY WAS ALWAYS IN THE VIDEO, which made it so much more interesting to listen to whilst seeing the cute puppy ALL THE TIME and not turning the camera to the human face only whilst the cute dog is there but out of the picture. Putting the crate on the bedside table is brilliant! I used to place the crate next to my bed and then dangle my arm over the side for the puppy to know I was there. Your way is much more comfortable!

what to do on that first night, but to have gone through it with you was awesome. Not one thing, but so many things. Ok, it's ok if puppy needs to sleep, also if it whines a bit, but maybe if it really needs to go outside, I'll have to let it out, but not when it's crying..... I really appreciate your videos where you show the behaviour as it is, not just what you'd like to see... whining, chewing on the house line... barfing on your lap... it helps to see you don't treat any of this as a big deal. I've been preparing for almost a year, but I suspect I'll just blank out sometimes about what to do in the moment... so I'll try to model your calm responses to whatever happens and just love on my pupster!
This is an excellent video, brilliantly done. I've been watching a lot... a looooot... of videos knowing that in 4 weeks time my 8 week old Staff will be here. I got my puppy on the Jan 2nd! So I'm so excited for these videos! Ive been watching your videos and I'm learning to train her already and although potty training is hard she doesn't pee much on carpet but she isn't trained to go outside yet because she isn't fully vaccinated and my apartments has so many dogs and so many feral cats, so to keep her safe I'm training her in the house for now! But today is day 4 of kennel closing training after she was already comfortable in her crate! I must say I'm so proud of her and I'm so proud of myself! Me? Training ? What!

We have had him exactly 2 days and the breeder had not started working with them at all and he already puts himself in his kennel when he wants food and to go to sleep.
