I agree with you man. FUCK RATHALOS!!! Also, although I'm a Second Generation Monster Hunter player (MHFU etc), and I prefer most of the second gen monsters over the newer ones (except for Zinogre, Gore Magala and a few others) there are a few 2nd gen monsters and I don't like fighting. E.g; Plesioth (obviously), Diablos, Gravios, Monoblos and Cephadrome.
Kinda odd you never noted that most attacks bounce off a Kirin's body, enraged or not... and that it's sole weakspot WHEN angry is it's abysmally small head.
You dont understand it ......... The Khezo got no music cause he never goes to see you! Its a insider if a monster see you the muusic turn on so the Khezu got no eyes so he dont see you and you get no music really easy its nothink about the athmosphere just cause he cant see ^^
AMEN I HEAR YOU. FUCK THE KHEZU!!! (Ahem) This monster is the most unfair, boring, pathetic THING I've ever fought. It always knows what attack to do at the right time landing me on my ass. And as a note for the lack of music I've read somewhere that the since the khezu doesn't have eyes it can't see you and the music starts playing when the monster sees you. That's a reasonable explanation... EXCEPT the Gore Magala (one of my favorite monsters) has an awesome theme and it doesn't have eyes. So what's the Khezu's excuse?
You do have a point. I'm probably being a bit biased as I do like the Khezu (Somewhat). I really want someone to make a horror game for the Khezu. Then it would seem more at home with no music and having an annoying as shit battle. I really hated the 4U mission were you had to capture a Khezu to go from rank 2 to 3. One time, I placed a trap and tried to get it over to capture it but it just kept on firing its electric balls. Then, when it was done, it just flew away.
Oh don't get me started on capture quests. In a game series called Monster HUNTER capture quests can out right suck it. And I know the quest your talking about. I had to abandoned the quest when I used all of my trap and the Khezu didn't fall into any of them. And I agree with you the Khezu would make a great horror game monster.
Here's my rathalos plate farming story. So back in 3 ultimate (my first monster hunter game), i wanted to get rathalos armor just like you did. So I began farming, killed it ~10 times before I found out that capturing gives rarer drops, so then I started capturing it. At around 12 captures, I started to look up ways to improve my chances of getting one even further, and got results like petting the poogie and getting the lucky cat food skill. I did all of those things, and at around 17, I gave up and moved on into high rank. Later, I went over to my friend's house, and we decided to play some monster hunter (I had the 3ds version and he had Wii u), and one of us needed some rathalos scales for something. And once we killed it, in the quest rewards, I saw that goddamn rathalos plate that I had searched so long for.
Here's the thing about Plesioth, When it hipchecks, it circles the world before hitting you. It's the one move that makes all of us hunters hate it. Me and my friends have a joke where if one of us gets hit by something, but we don't know what hit us, we blame a Plesioth, somewhere, deciding to randomly hipcheck.
I'm a bit torn on Khezu vs. Gigginox. On the one hand I like Gigginox much better as a monster, its design and everything is just so much more interesting than Khezu. But on the other hand I much prefer fighting Khezu. Both being the main source of pale extract I much rather fight the easy Khezu than the complicated and bothersome Gigginox.
I actually kinda like the Khezu. I find it to be one of the most interesting monsters actually. My personal list of least favourite would probably be: 10 Tigrex (love the monster and concept. Hate the fight because of charging attacks that come out of nowhere= 9 Rajang (again, love the monster, but fighting it is just tedious. Atleast they got rid off the ridiculous hitbox on that backwards hop) 8 Plesioth (love the monster, hate to fight it - so tedious, also broken hitboxes in the games up to MH3U) 7 Rathalos/Rathian (fight is good but for some reasons I don't seem to get rare drops from them easily. With every other monster I accumulate a few rare drops up to High Rank or G Rank but with them I actually have to go out of my way and grind, a lot which sucks.) 6 Dahren Mohran (t's essentially a reused Jhen Mohran fight, which is a reused Lao Shan Lung fight. But out of the three of them I found Dahren to be the least enjoyable) 5 Yian Garuga (fast, poisonous and very strong. Tedious to fight, gives sweet armor though) 4 Daimyo Hermitaur (Generations version, I get they wanted to make it a little more difficult but making it move even more erratically is not the way) 3 Tetsucabra (I really hate charging attacks that come out of nowhere.) 2 Barioth (bastard slides all over the place, dealing out ridiculous amounts of damage, makes it borderline impossible to cut it's tail. Really hate fighting it...) 1 Gigginox (never stands still, poison, wastes time climbing the ceiling, rare drop you can only carve with a very low rate)
fun fact the coat thing on a Nercila(sorry if I misspelled it) is actually made out of the hide of a gypceros and they have the ability to be kirby in that they gain the elemental ability that it's prey has that's how it got its poison
Outside of the somewhat cingey (Curse my high expectations, it's entirely my fault I think that) face segments, I've never seen a list I can agree with more. But I may as well throw in my two-cents: The Gargua I hate for its High Rank attack of roaring then coming in for a posion swing (I don't get Hearing shut up..), the Gravios' beam attack bothers me less than other insta-kill attacks like the Amatsu's etc, the Plesioth at least is more land-prone in MHGen, and as for the Khezu...how dare you hate my wriggly senpai! Okay I admit the lack of theme sucks, a lot, and they still haven't changed that fact, but I can't help but love the Khezu by design!...Don't hurt me ;-; Great video with fantastic editing overall.
Actually, the reason there is no music for the khezu is because music doesn't start playing until the monster see's you and since the khezu has no eyes, it can't see.
Totally agree 100%, except the Dromes REALLY need to go. Great Jaggi was basically a less annoying version of them, and was actually kind of fun to mull down. Because you know what I don't want from the first real fights? Status effects. Seltas was also a good first fight (I liked that he was part of a larger monster so him being super easy was part of the function), but he doesn't land often so it makes for some annoying intro fights.
like I said in thee last countdown the videos are just getting increasingly better. And also the rathalos plate hunting experience you had I can agree with you on whole heartedly, it took me 47 times to kill the damnthing for a stupid plate. But anyways greatlist like always
Still way worse than the Gravios he put on the list... At least you can usually survive a Gravos laser if you have any fire resist and you have time to move afterwards.
I read somewhere that a Yian Garuga is what happens when a Yian Kut-Ku and a Rathian get it on. Granted, the thought of something that tiny getting hot with a RATHIAN is kind of hard to picture, but it would explain the moveset. Now I'm told it's just an older Yian Kut-Ku. Which is it?
Incredible list! This is one of the best countdowns I've seen, as well as one of most relatable. However, I'll always love the Rathalos xD. But again, fantastic video!

XxSnowxxKittenxX G rank is all people talk about. :( I struggled with Low Rank in FU and Low-high rank in 4U was a cakewalk for me with only one exception(bloody pink rathian). I tried explaining my opinion to other people on another video and their argument was: "You didn't even get to G-Rank? Come back once you've got to the part of the game that matters" So basically they're saying that 2/3 of the game doesn't matter? Pretty bad argument in my opinion. Low rank I can understand being easy but high-rank? Hell no.
+Erikel Elf I like MHFU but I truly wish they didn't spoil so much of the big monsters early on... also no dromes in G Rank, no expeditions, and kinda outdated weapon mechanics. 4U is harder than MHFU in terms of Apex monsters and Level 140 quests but other than that, it's pretty easy.
Have they lowered the chance of getting plates? I just farmed gore in generations for feelers and finally got the full set at 16 gores. Over that time I got 3 gore plates.
How can you dislike the Khezu? It has such a calm, friendly personality and is endearingly clumsy while managing to be super eerie. Despite it having no eyes, it has the best, most expressive mimic in all of Monster Hunter. (Talking specifically about MHFU.) And its voice sounds like wind! And its moves are so beautifully rigged! It is fantastic!
There were so many times, when I was thinking, for example: "What? Gobul was awesome, this guy is- oh... OH YES, THAT'S SO RIGHT, THIS GUY IS A GOD..."
Dara Amadyura was extremely disappointing for me. The right is long, tedious, not very challenging and overall not very fun despite the fact that he looks awesome!
To be fair, it was the best gimmicky 'big monster' fight they ever did. Not that that says much. I don't count Jhen because the boat destruction mechanic was lame, and horrible solo in Tri.
Just found your channel with this video. You have a new subscriber. Personally Rathalos is my favourite monster in the series. I have so many awesome memories with this original flagship monster. Always loved the armour sets & weapons also.
A hard fight isn't quite the same as being a bad monster. Kirin is fine. Khezu, annoying, but fine. The 'dromes are essential. You need to have an early asset that you can easily beat, but who doesn't just leave into obscurity immediately. If you're going to go with a worst monster list, it might be more prudent to go into why they're the worst more than "they bug me". Of course everyone's opinion is their own, but you're also trending by being frontpage of "Monster hunter" (Which congrats! That is in no way a bad thing!). But it also gives a false assumption that some of the flagship monsters (Rathalos and Rathian, for instance) are bad with bad fights. Definitely not true. If you approach it from a development standpoint, like, "Who is unnecessary?" and you might find that monsters like Tigrex would be on the chopping block (Walkforward, turn, walk forward, turn, does not a boss fight make) much more than some of the core, mechanically critical monsters like Rathalos, Gendrome, and others.
This isn't a worst monster list though. It is a "Least Favorites" list, based around my personal preferences and experiences. How irritating I find a monster, how much I dislike the design, if I had a bad time when I first fought them, etc. If I do make a "Worst" Monster list, I will definitely take your advice into consideration (Seriously, 12 out of 10 for constructive criticism, I adore comments like this

It's not an issue, you have a decent channel and it's clear you're passionate. What you have is a personal favorites list which while presented well, will actually slip past a bunch of youtubers by the simple fact that many have a very. very short attention span. Where you can help the game is making a title somewhat akin to Monsters you love to hate or something of that ilk. While you're essentially saying the very same thing. you're conveying the message you like the game, but you have parts of it you would just prefer to see a bit less of, or maybe you even enjoy elements of it, but you're having a hard time with something. Or there's a mechanic you just don't like. That way, to the would be Monster Hunter customer cruising past, they see people are passionate about the title (And you know, hating on things is actually still a form of love for a game! Many people shout up and down about how much they hate destiny, but they can't get into the minutiae of it unless they were actually playing it :) ) And while you've actually hedged your dislikes in a very thoughtful way, at a glance, and only at a glance, you're sending off an unintended message of ragging on the game. Which, having seen a few of your videos now. Is clearly not your intended at first glance message. Often times, if you find yourself defending something that you don't expect. (I've had this happen myself a few times) it's mostly due to the way things were perceived, rather than the message you expected to convey. So, you get your impassioned monster hunter clicking on links they very much want to see, and they think you're ragging on monsters. Rathalos is clearly a favorite among many for instance. (I love him for the classic Chinese storytelling experience of how you fight him, but that's a lengthy conversation. Love all the Journey to the West references in MHX) so the viewer feels, wrongly, that you're attacking! They jump on, post.... sooomething. Be it constructive or.... usually not. And suddenly you're on defense for something you're innocent of! Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read, I do hope I helped somewhat. Good luck with your channel, it's off to a great start. Hey Kalimdori, I loved this top ten! But I do have some questions: 1. If you hate Gravios because of its laser beam, does that mean you also hate Agnaktor? 2. Since Plesioth can be fought underwater in 3U, doesn't that diminish the need to wait for him. 3. If you hate the drones in freedom unite, do you feel the same about Great Jaggi, Wroggi and Baggi from 3U. I'd love to hear your response!
Well I'm not him, but I can answer the first question with this: The damage output in FU and 4U is alot more than 3U, so Gravios's heat beam hits far harder than Agnaktor's heat beam, thus far less likely to kill everyone. Generations is a slightly different story if you got underwhelming armor against Hyper Agnaktor... And as for Plesioth, notice the clips he used for it were from FU. In that game and Generations, you couldn't go after him, so in those games, it becomes a waiting game as he swims around and annoys you (Less so in Generations). In 3U, Plesioth was a bitch to handle underwater since dodging his hits was harder than it looked.
1: Nope! Agnaktor doesn't have that stupid Fire-Fart move after the laser finishes like the Gravios does, making it easier to dodge and letting me get a lot of free hits on the monster. Plus I can't hate the lava monster that burrows through the ceiling 2. Yes, it does. But the water fight isn't fun either :/ 3. The Great Jaggi/Wroggi/Baggi aren't as small or fast as the dromes, and their roars aren't as grating on the ears. They can still be a little annoying, but not NEARLY as bad as the Dromes.

I was on a quest to capture a gypceros in HR1 to get the urgent quest. Within the first few minutes, it pecked me and stole what else but the only trap I had.
Since you were talking about Rathalos Plates, there is a trick you can use to get a lot of them. After you have cut the tail wait until the Rathalos has left the area and carve it afterwards. I used this trick in Monster Hunter Tri and I got a Rathalos Plate from almost every second Rathalos tail. In fact, I acquired so many Rathalos Plates that I was able to sell a lot of them to get some money in a short period of time. I don't know if this trick works in other generations of Monster Hunter as well but if you are catching up with a game of the third generation, you should give it a try.
Gypceros nearly killed the series for me when I started out in MH4U (one of my first MH games) I had crap equipment and was running dual blades. Bad idea.I was reminded of the horror last night while trying to help someone raise their HR and going through the trap quest. I had forgotten that shock traps don't work. Pain. So much ranting and pain.On a side note, what are your armor goals for mhgen?
the thing about Rath plates is that you have to make sure you break everything then captures. You cannot carve plates from the Rath's body. If it took you that long then there was something you were doing wrong. If you did everything right then rng failed you.
I think I understand the dislike bar for this video. It's hard to make a negative top ten without pissing people off, especially with a fandom as die-hard as Monster Hunter, and you're doing a personal un-favorites list that features several popular monsters. That said, the video itself isn't a bad one! You have the self-awareness to stop the whole thing coming off as whiny, and you have a justification, or at least an entertaining story, to go along with the ones you admit are just personal gripes. Lmao Kalimdori why u trick me? When you showed the gobul clip I was like "YES! Someone else agrees!" But nope. Gobul is literally the only monster I ever ran out of time on. That may have been circumstantial, but it left me with a long standing grudge.

the Khezu doesn't have music out of laziness really, in the first game it was in the music was triggered by the monster seeing you.... but the Khezu is blind. Then later on they never bothered to make a sound track for it.

I completely agree with your #1 spot but for a different reason I actually didn't notice that the Kezu didn't have music for awhile because I played with the music off to avoid disturbing my friends but I still hate the Kezu more than anything else.
Actually, 36 Rathalos is (provided you're playing 3U, which I'm assuming as you're using the Gamepad) exactly the point you can expect to have gotten a plate if you do everything you can to get one. According to Kiranico, a Low Rank Rathalos can give a plate from tail carves (3%), shiny drops (2%), capturing (2%) and breaking the head (4%). Now we find the mean value of these numbers: (3 + 2 + 2 + 4) / 4 = 2.75 This means your average chance would be 2.75%. Now we divide by 100 (because we're using percents) and divide 1 by that number: 2.75 / 100 = 0.0275 1 / 0.0275 = 36 (rounded to the nearest whole number) It makes complete statistical sense to have gotten the plate by your 36th Rathalos. Doesn't make it any less tedious to get, but hopefully this puts things in perspective.
Been a long time since I had statistics but it doesn't make any sense why it would lower my overall chances of getting a plate if you cut and break and captures everything since you can't just add them together. In that case it would be wiser just to break the head since your overall chance would be 4% and not 2.75. Just to make it clear, I'm not saying it's 11% chance to get the plate if you do everything, but it's not 2.75% either since you have the possibility to actually get 4 plates, not 1. Every part has to be calculated on itself, doesnt it? PLUS you have the chance to get multiple shiny drops.

Well, technically, the Gore Magala DOES have eyes, they are just not used by it as its feelers cover them.
Ok technically it doesn't have eyes. But the effects are the same. It can't see the hunter, but it's theme starts.

I got the same story but with a tigrex skull shell instead. I hunted that loud twirling S.O.B 15 times and never got one.

I actually kinda like the Khezu. I find it to be one of the most interesting monsters actually.
My personal list of least favourite would probably be:
10 Tigrex (love the monster and concept. Hate the fight because of charging attacks that come out of nowhere=
9 Rajang (again, love the monster, but fighting it is just tedious. Atleast they got rid off the ridiculous hitbox on that backwards hop)
8 Plesioth (love the monster, hate to fight it - so tedious, also broken hitboxes in the games up to MH3U)
7 Rathalos/Rathian (fight is good but for some reasons I don't seem to get rare drops from them easily. With every other monster I accumulate a few rare drops up to High Rank or G Rank but with them I actually have to go out of my way and grind, a lot which sucks.)
6 Dahren Mohran (t's essentially a reused Jhen Mohran fight, which is a reused Lao Shan Lung fight. But out of the three of them I found Dahren to be the least enjoyable)
5 Yian Garuga (fast, poisonous and very strong. Tedious to fight, gives sweet armor though)
4 Daimyo Hermitaur (Generations version, I get they wanted to make it a little more difficult but making it move even more erratically is not the way)
3 Tetsucabra (I really hate charging attacks that come out of nowhere.)
2 Barioth (bastard slides all over the place, dealing out ridiculous amounts of damage, makes it borderline impossible to cut it's tail. Really hate fighting it...)
1 Gigginox (never stands still, poison, wastes time climbing the ceiling, rare drop you can only carve with a very low rate)

Outside of the somewhat cingey (Curse my high expectations, it's entirely my fault I think that) face segments, I've never seen a list I can agree with more.
But I may as well throw in my two-cents: The Gargua I hate for its High Rank attack of roaring then coming in for a posion swing (I don't get Hearing shut up..), the Gravios' beam attack bothers me less than other insta-kill attacks like the Amatsu's etc, the Plesioth at least is more land-prone in MHGen, and as for the Khezu...how dare you hate my wriggly senpai! Okay I admit the lack of theme sucks, a lot, and they still haven't changed that fact, but I can't help but love the Khezu by design!...Don't hurt me ;-;

Actually, the reason there is no music for the khezu is because music doesn't start playing until the monster see's you and since the khezu has no eyes, it can't see.
Totally agree 100%, except the Dromes REALLY need to go. Great Jaggi was basically a less annoying version of them, and was actually kind of fun to mull down. Because you know what I don't want from the first real fights? Status effects. Seltas was also a good first fight (I liked that he was part of a larger monster so him being super easy was part of the function), but he doesn't land often so it makes for some annoying intro fights.
Oh, also Khezu is the trolliest monster there is.

I read somewhere that a Yian Garuga is what happens when a Yian Kut-Ku and a Rathian get it on. Granted, the thought of something that tiny getting hot with a RATHIAN is kind of hard to picture, but it would explain the moveset. Now I'm told it's just an older Yian Kut-Ku.

Unpopular Opinion: Freedom Unite is still my favourite. 4U is too easy.
I found MHFU easier tbh. G rank is more of a shock by how much damage they do and their speed was much higher depending on the fight.
XxSnowxxKittenxX G rank is all people talk about. :( I struggled with Low Rank in FU and Low-high rank in 4U was a cakewalk for me with only one exception(bloody pink rathian). I tried explaining my opinion to other people on another video and their argument was: "You didn't even get to G-Rank? Come back once you've got to the part of the game that matters" So basically they're saying that 2/3 of the game doesn't matter? Pretty bad argument in my opinion. Low rank I can understand being easy but high-rank? Hell no.
+Erikel Elf I like MHFU but I truly wish they didn't spoil so much of the big monsters early on... also no dromes in G Rank, no expeditions, and kinda outdated weapon mechanics.
4U is harder than MHFU in terms of Apex monsters and Level 140 quests but other than that, it's pretty easy.

Have they lowered the chance of getting plates? I just farmed gore in generations for feelers and finally got the full set at 16 gores. Over that time I got 3 gore plates.
Monster Hunter generations fixed the plesioth and I loved the fight

How can you dislike the Khezu? It has such a calm, friendly personality and is endearingly clumsy while managing to be super eerie. Despite it having no eyes, it has the best, most expressive mimic in all of Monster Hunter. (Talking specifically about MHFU.) And its voice sounds like wind! And its moves are so beautifully rigged! It is fantastic!

A hard fight isn't quite the same as being a bad monster. Kirin is fine. Khezu, annoying, but fine. The 'dromes are essential. You need to have an early asset that you can easily beat, but who doesn't just leave into obscurity immediately. If you're going to go with a worst monster list, it might be more prudent to go into why they're the worst more than "they bug me". Of course everyone's opinion is their own, but you're also trending by being frontpage of "Monster hunter" (Which congrats! That is in no way a bad thing!). But it also gives a false assumption that some of the flagship monsters (Rathalos and Rathian, for instance) are bad with bad fights. Definitely not true. If you approach it from a development standpoint, like, "Who is unnecessary?" and you might find that monsters like Tigrex would be on the chopping block (Walkforward, turn, walk forward, turn, does not a boss fight make) much more than some of the core, mechanically critical monsters like Rathalos, Gendrome, and others.
This isn't a worst monster list though. It is a "Least Favorites" list, based around my personal preferences and experiences. How irritating I find a monster, how much I dislike the design, if I had a bad time when I first fought them, etc.
If I do make a "Worst" Monster list, I will definitely take your advice into consideration (Seriously, 12 out of 10 for constructive criticism, I adore comments like this

It's not an issue, you have a decent channel and it's clear you're passionate. What you have is a personal favorites list which while presented well, will actually slip past a bunch of youtubers by the simple fact that many have a very. very short attention span. Where you can help the game is making a title somewhat akin to Monsters you love to hate or something of that ilk. While you're essentially saying the very same thing. you're conveying the message you like the game, but you have parts of it you would just prefer to see a bit less of, or maybe you even enjoy elements of it, but you're having a hard time with something. Or there's a mechanic you just don't like.
That way, to the would be Monster Hunter customer cruising past, they see people are passionate about the title (And you know, hating on things is actually still a form of love for a game! Many people shout up and down about how much they hate destiny, but they can't get into the minutiae of it unless they were actually playing it :) ) And while you've actually hedged your dislikes in a very thoughtful way, at a glance, and only at a glance, you're sending off an unintended message of ragging on the game. Which, having seen a few of your videos now. Is clearly not your intended at first glance message.
Often times, if you find yourself defending something that you don't expect. (I've had this happen myself a few times) it's mostly due to the way things were perceived, rather than the message you expected to convey. So, you get your impassioned monster hunter clicking on links they very much want to see, and they think you're ragging on monsters. Rathalos is clearly a favorite among many for instance. (I love him for the classic Chinese storytelling experience of how you fight him, but that's a lengthy conversation. Love all the Journey to the West references in MHX) so the viewer feels, wrongly, that you're attacking! They jump on, post.... sooomething. Be it constructive or.... usually not. And suddenly you're on defense for something you're innocent of!
Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read, I do hope I helped somewhat. Good luck with your channel, it's off to a great start.

1. If you hate Gravios because of its laser beam, does that mean you also hate Agnaktor?
2. Since Plesioth can be fought underwater in 3U, doesn't that diminish the need to wait for him.
3. If you hate the drones in freedom unite, do you feel the same about Great Jaggi, Wroggi and Baggi from 3U.

Well I'm not him, but I can answer the first question with this:
The damage output in FU and 4U is alot more than 3U, so Gravios's heat beam hits far harder than Agnaktor's heat beam, thus far less likely to kill everyone. Generations is a slightly different story if you got underwhelming armor against Hyper Agnaktor...
And as for Plesioth, notice the clips he used for it were from FU. In that game and Generations, you couldn't go after him, so in those games, it becomes a waiting game as he swims around and annoys you (Less so in Generations). In 3U, Plesioth was a bitch to handle underwater since dodging his hits was harder than it looked.
1: Nope! Agnaktor doesn't have that stupid Fire-Fart move after the laser finishes like the Gravios does, making it easier to dodge and letting me get a lot of free hits on the monster. Plus I can't hate the lava monster that burrows through the ceiling
2. Yes, it does. But the water fight isn't fun either :/
3. The Great Jaggi/Wroggi/Baggi aren't as small or fast as the dromes, and their roars aren't as grating on the ears. They can still be a little annoying, but not NEARLY as bad as the Dromes.

I was on a quest to capture a gypceros in HR1 to get the urgent quest. Within the first few minutes, it pecked me and stole what else but the only trap I had.

4:52 Lol, I just randomly get them while trying to get other items, like I've gotten 12 Plates before I got one Rathlos Ruby.
Since you were talking about Rathalos Plates, there is a trick you can use to get a lot of them. After you have cut the tail wait until the Rathalos has left the area and carve it afterwards. I used this trick in Monster Hunter Tri and I got a Rathalos Plate from almost every second Rathalos tail. In fact, I acquired so many Rathalos Plates that I was able to sell a lot of them to get some money in a short period of time. I don't know if this trick works in other generations of Monster Hunter as well but if you are catching up with a game of the third generation, you should give it a try.

the thing about Rath plates is that you have to make sure you break everything then captures. You cannot carve plates from the Rath's body. If it took you that long then there was something you were doing wrong. If you did everything right then rng failed you.

I think I understand the dislike bar for this video. It's hard to make a negative top ten without pissing people off, especially with a fandom as die-hard as Monster Hunter, and you're doing a personal un-favorites list that features several popular monsters. That said, the video itself isn't a bad one! You have the self-awareness to stop the whole thing coming off as whiny, and you have a justification, or at least an entertaining story, to go along with the ones you admit are just personal gripes. the Khezu doesn't have music out of laziness really, in the first game it was in the music was triggered by the monster seeing you.... but the Khezu is blind. Then later on they never bothered to make a sound track for it.

I completely agree with your #1 spot but for a different reason I actually didn't notice that the Kezu didn't have music for awhile because I played with the music off to avoid disturbing my friends but I still hate the Kezu more than anything else.
Actually, 36 Rathalos is (provided you're playing 3U, which I'm assuming as you're using the Gamepad) exactly the point you can expect to have gotten a plate if you do everything you can to get one. According to Kiranico, a Low Rank Rathalos can give a plate from tail carves (3%), shiny drops (2%), capturing (2%) and breaking the head (4%). Now we find the mean value of these numbers:
(3 + 2 + 2 + 4) / 4 = 2.75
This means your average chance would be 2.75%. Now we divide by 100 (because we're using percents) and divide 1 by that number:
2.75 / 100 = 0.0275
1 / 0.0275 = 36 (rounded to the nearest whole number)
It makes complete statistical sense to have gotten the plate by your 36th Rathalos. Doesn't make it any less tedious to get, but hopefully this puts things in perspective.
Been a long time since I had statistics but it doesn't make any sense why it would lower my overall chances of getting a plate if you cut and break and captures everything since you can't just add them together. In that case it would be wiser just to break the head since your overall chance would be 4% and not 2.75.
Just to make it clear, I'm not saying it's 11% chance to get the plate if you do everything, but it's not 2.75% either since you have the possibility to actually get 4 plates, not 1. Every part has to be calculated on itself, doesnt it?
PLUS you have the chance to get multiple shiny drops.
That's 36 carves, drops, and rewards. Not 36 Rathalos.
