Michele, you are an amazing truck driver. Sister, you have blessed me by showing me the your technique. I admire you and your my motivation to do it in the CDL-CLASS B world.
Yessss sis... you will learn to love it....kinda stressful in the beginning because you are learning...but after you find your own way of doing it...it will be soooo easy...I have been doing this for 26 years and it's the easiest job ever...if you ever need advice about anything pertaining to roll off...dont hesitate to ask...I got you!
Nice work! I am a roll off driver for GFL. And do 5 or 6 reciver cans a week. You are correct. That wasn't that bad of a mess🤣. Lots of people freak out over that part. I used to run flatbed on the road. This is MUCH more fun! No two days are the same, and I love the challenges that come with residential roll off. Keep up the great work. I can tell you love your job too!😊
I was residential driver now got bump up to roll off..its been a good experience so far things are going well..I just take my time and be safe around my ereas..thank you for this video looks good I keep learning new things and how to do it many other ways.
Enjoyed your video very much. As a roll-off driver one of the first things I was taught was never lower your rails below the top of the cab while pulling up a dumpster. If your cable snaps and I have had one snap it could come flying through the back window. While pulling the dumpster I lower my rails just to the top of the cab and when the dumpster is completely on that's when I lower the rails completely. Also in New York state if we get stopped by.D.O.T they almost always check the tension on the safety straps. I have a piece of rebar I used to tighten them up. Be Safe. You Rock ! 🤘🏽
Thanks for the video. Getting ready to start in this field with another company right out of CDL school I hope I enjoy the job as much as I think I will.
Well done.... I used to have a hard time backing that stinger/rails to the wheels on the container/ compactors.... I used highlighted duct tape placed them on both side of fender wells to help be my guide.
Outstanding. I have something that got drilled into me when learning packers and I teach everyone, DO NOT PLACE YOUR HOOK UNTIL TURNBUCKLE HOOKS OR HYDRAULIC LINES ARE OFF. Hook goes on last before pulling forward. When bringing back, hook comes off first before putting hooks or lines on. This way, if customer distracts us, we don't forget where we're at. Also, I sometimes use sidewalk chalk to add another set of reveals next to my drivers side tires to help line back up on the power unit when coming back. But damn good video and thanks!
Woman.. You make it look so easy & my goodness you look gorgeous doing it. I can't wait till you upload more Rolloff videos. I would love to see you dumping at the landfill or transfer station on your next video.
Nice vid my sister good job...the only thing i would suggest is to never lower your boom under the cab till the dumpster wheel chocks have hit the front of the rails. Just in case (hope it never happens) in case the cable snaps. Cause it will come into the cab...if it is above the cab hopefully it will snap and fly over the cab hitting the hood and not anyone or anything in front of your truck...i have seen it and has happened to me (flying over the cab and hit the street in front of me all i could do is watch it go up in the air thank god i didn't have to site seers that day)...stay safe. Stay trucking.

Thank you do much for watching!
@@micheletlittle I wound up driving rear packer truck, box truck and on occasion, tractor-trailer for the same company picking up recycled paper and cardboard. I really enjoyed the packer routes, even in winter. It still was physically hard dumping dumpsters and 96 gallon totes filled with paper, sometimes as much as 300 pounds. Even the tipper couldn't lift the heavy weight at times, so some help from the winch got the job done. What type of question do they ask on interviews? I just got a email from WM it’s some type of internet interview. Any feed back would be awesome.
Class B is all you need for this job...I'm sure they will ask if you are able to work in ALL types of weather...not snow though! But, I have been doing this 25 years...it has afforded me alot of things....I think that it's a fun job... but stay focused and pay attention to detail...they will pull your driving record, send you to orientation in another state for about a week! It's been a while since I've been on an interview...they will send you for a DOT physical for their own records...they will pay for it...and you will probably come in for a driving test to see if you can actually drive a large piece of equipment...just guessing but not sure of the questions they will ask!!! But good luck!
Michele Little Things thank you I only had my ls less then a year but thank you for the info I definitely will look into this. I’m a school bus driver now.
I usually just ask the costumer to throw a pallet or two on there and run the compactor before I detach it. It’s usually helps hold the trash in. Usually…. Lol 👌🏽
