    Snacking unhealthy foods occasionally is ok, but the issue is that those foods are designed to be addictive. Eating nutritious food is less expensive, and helps with improving one's mood and overall health.

    I’ve done this and it never works. Whenever I let sugar into my life, I always enjoy it without guilt and still binge on it and quickly put on the pounds. Same with wine. Only thing that I’ve found that works is abstinence. Glad it works for you.

      I tried the keto diet and it didn't work for me. The book The Mayo Clinic Diet by Donald Hensrud helped me lose weight. I enjoy a serving of fruit with every meal as this book recommends. • @LauraB.335
    @LauraB.335 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

    It depends on the person. If I eat whatever I want with OMAD and even alternate-day fasting, I will often not lose fat or even gain weight. I also disagree with the calories in, calories out, as fat loss is mostly hormonal. When insulin is too high in the body, it becomes literally impossible to let go of body fat (Professor Ben Bikman, researcher of all things insulin). There are numerous people who haven’t been able to lose weight on a low calorie diet, but then move to a lower carb diet and are able to eat at least double the calories they were eating and fat just fell off. Kelly Hogan and Dr. Anthony Chaffee are just two examples.
    I do agree with her that it is important to release any guilt related to food. The feelings of guilt drive people to behaviors that keep them fat, whereas, when you let go of guilt, it drives you to the behaviors that will work for you.

      @PatriotChik whats long term? I've been using it for years and lost 60 lbs with it. Only weight I've put back on was intentional because my body fat % was too low to sustain muscle growth, despite a High protien, high fat diet. And so far, My fat / is still dropping (As does my weight occiasionally dip too low, til i add more).

    • @joegomez5463
      @joegomez5463 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PatriotChik i don't fast. I am not currently counting, except onnce in a whole ( every few months) or if I want to go up at a certain rate. I tracked to lose weight, tracked to see what my maintainence was (I eat roughly that way, and just pay attention to the caloric content of whatever I'm eating in general, and just opt for lower cal alternatives). And just have adopted that behavior.
      I regularly eat both carbs and fats, just more complex carbs like fruits and veggies. Though I do eat white bread and white rice almost every day (Some days I don't, just causebI don't want it). I also limit saturated fats, and will opt for healthier fats just because of a nutritional preference tbh. I just continued to eat the same way I was when I lost the weight.

Omg your missing the point just losing weight can make you lose 50% muscle and 50% fat but losing that muscle SLOWS YOUR METABOLISM PERMANENTLY UNTIL YOU GAIN THE MUSCLE BACK WHICH IS NOT EASY ! Quality of food matters !!!!!! There’s no way around it ! Muscle = longevity and health!
