I've found that using the chorus gives a really raw stereo sound if the rate and intensity are 0. Then the width control comes really handy because you can then have the stereo sound as wide as you want.
Steve, thanks for the video. Its really awesome how amazing is the sound that you're taking of the Bias. I didnt have the idea of all the possibilities that the plugin can afford.
Coming in late here, but this video helped me in exploring so much more of the app than before, for example setting the input to mono because it was set to stereo by default and I didn't think to much of it which made some features not working, like the tuner and guitar match. And that made the volume not being not loud enough, so I had tu use a equalizer on every patch, also how you showed how the mixer worked when making a stereo rig to pan each amp to either side and adjusting the volume. Thank you
Just found this video and it's awesome! My biggest worry with bias is that a lot of the presets that people showed off sounded a little thin and brittle, but it turns out a lot of people only use a single chain without a mixer. Really helpful thank you!
Thanks for this Steve, really useful video and makes such a big difference. I just purchased Bias FX for my phone a couple of days ago and it’s so good I’ve ordered some studio monitors and will probably sell my Boss Katana amp! I can’t believe I’ve got endless effects and amps with such amazing quality on my phone after years of buying different amps and effects.
Have you felt difference between playing on real amp and bias fx software Any latency diff ??? Or there is no difference felt how does it felt on software is the pick attack instant???
Very well done, getting a lot from this video. I do not have this software yet but it's on my list of things to get in the next few months and your demo is a huge help, thank you for doing this.
Steve - Nice review! You mentioned on Saturday that this was coming. Caught your live show on replay. Now I need to apply this lesson to my current rig on my IPad. Thanks!👍🏻🎸🤘🏻
I've been planning on getting a Scarlett interface and then Bias, hopefully by Xmas . Just using Rocksmith isn't enough :( . Thanks for doing this Steve.
Sovereign Sentience have Kemper, had AxeFxIII and pretty all the plugins available at the studio and tested them to death. Now I can tell you only TH-U is worth as plugin high end amp/Fx. Take a look at my TH-cam channel, have some plugins under testing. But I totally recommend Overloud TH-U over Bias FX 2. Sound too fizzy in the high ends, lack of low end. Steve make everything sound good but if your listen closely you will ear the oversampling noises and the artefacts that are tiring the audience ears.
@@NO-TALK-GuitarPlugin the price is a problem . I live on a fixed medical pension. I like the tones Steve gets from TH-U, the cost however is beyond my reach .

Thanks Steve, really helpful stuff. I do have one question regarding your recording setup though and that is why don't you set up a gate to mute the sound of the pick hitting your strings? Maybe it's just a personal thing but I find it really distracting as this is something you would never have with a mic'd cab. I think it would benefit your sound a good deal but, as stated, that's a personal choice. Just a thought :-)
Brilliant video! But you did put some of the effects in the wrong place to check whether or not they were stereo. You simply can't tell if you put them before the amps!
Also i like to know how are you getting such a clean signal from Bias fx. mine dos nothing but crackle n pop. My pc and interface are pretty high quality and i use Mogomi cables .
I'm using bias fx2 pro with a midi commander footswitch pedal through cakewalk daw and I can't seem to get my midi commander footswitch to toggle between amps. Any ideas on how I can make it work. Thanks. Love your channel.
So is two mono delays the same sound as a true stereo delay pedal? What about for reverbs? Does Bias FX 2 have true stereo delay and reverb units or do you just double up on mono effect and set them differently for left and right channels like in the video?
thanks a ton for this tutorial; wondering if the stereo spacing between two amps can also be controlled via the 'delay in MS' controls in that Mixer module (where the two channels come back into one) ??
How are you outputting the biasfx in your recording assuming your using obs to record this video , or are you doing a separate audio recording in a daw and importing to your video editing software?
@@SFBGuitar could you do a tutorial so that I’m able to output to obs , TH-cam , twitch , zoom, and discord ? I have a scarlet 2i2 on PC. I got bias fx2 both in the daw on reaper and stand-alone app. Problem is that when I play with someone over zoom or record via obs it records dry signal without the biasfx2
Ahh, no loopback on that model. You'll have to mix it down to an output pair on the back and run a cable to your mobo audio Line In. Then point the audio in obs to the Line In as the audio source.
Hi there. I think he uses the Focusrite 6i6 2nd Gen Interface. I myself use the Behringer - UMC204HD and it sounds like his or even better. (everytime you connect a new guitar) -Control de output level in BIAS FX 2.
Hey Steve, been following you for a while now. Your insights and experience are a real help to people finding their way. I'm totally new to using computers for plugging a guitar into. My frame of reference is plugging my guitar into an amp and fiddling with knobs. But I am getting increasingly interested in using Bias FX 2. My understanding is that I can get an audio interface, ie Focusrite, plug my guitar and earphones into that - plug the interface into my computer in which Bias FX is loaded and have all those amps and pedals to experiment with through the earphones. Is that correct? I don't think I need a separate DAW but I might be wrong. But if I want to hear the guitar through a speaker, I understand studio monitors like KRK Rokit 5 or 7 would be what I need. Do I need a pair or will a single unit work? Will a single monitor sound like crap or will it be OK? Thanks
Save up and get Adam t7v, and you will not regret. If your very short of money get, Kali lp 6, the best you can get for that price range. Headphone I can recommend is sennheiser hd25.
Was this the basic version or full license? I've been using the basic version of Bias 1 and very happy with it. I noticed a few differences though: there's no dual path after the mixer on mine (but does still sound stereo), I don't have access to looper or it isn't available etc. I'd be tempted to upgrade but I don't want to have to pay the full pro. license fee. As always great demo Steve, you obviously know hour way around software. Keep it going.
I'm not positive, but it's most likely the full license. Companies usually provide the full version so that reviewers can explore all the features. And remember that this is Bias FX and not just Bias. Never tried the original Bias FX, so not sure if dual rigs are a new feature.
@@SFBGuitar cheers Steve. Keep it Rockin. Always love your intros. I can prob do a bit of research on that myself, bit just thought I'd ask. Tx for responding

Hi Steve: Not sure why, but when I installed BIAS-FX 2 on my 64 bit Windows 7 Home PC, it sounded pretty bad, and nowhere near as good as Guitar Rig 5 (which was already installed and is my current favorite amp modeller) - and sure didn't sound like any of the reviews I've heard on TH-cam. one more trick is to set the delay on one of the routes to 1ms in the mixer section, so you can get that sort of double-track sound
