I would like to know if the clearance tightens or loosens as miles accrue between adjustments? Valve and seat wear would tighten (valve stem would rise) and follower/camlobe wear would loosen..(increasing clearance) thanks
I have a 2006 cls 500 m113 and w219 chassis. Im having an issue where it is long crank and no start, I turn off and back on and it starts the 2nd time it does it at random... so its so intermitent... I have no codes, I was wondering with your knowledge if you can teach me something. Ive done the cam and crank sensor..
It could be in your electronic ignition switch. You may need Star diagnostics to find the problem either at a dealer or independent who has the software.

One more hint: de-grease the adjuster before you work it with the wrench. It will prevent slipping off.

I have a 1976 450sel. Do you know if I have hydraulic lifters or adjustable?
Most likely hydraulic if it is the original engine and it has K-Jetronic fuel injection (CIS).
