Did it!! Only caution is to buy extra clips for under the front bumper. I had exactly 4 still there, and a few broke on the way out.

All this to repalce a simple headlight. Not even 1960s Citroens were this bad.

You can just full lock the steering wheel to one side, take a few clips out from the front liner (splash guard) and replace the light bulb from underneath.

Took me three hours to replace the auxiliary bulb. I’m never buying another Subaru as long as I live

I gotta say, having to take half your car apart just to replace headlights is an engineering failure. Most American cars you can replace the bulbs from the back side.
