I actually think this is a really good idea. Or maybe give the Slaught-O-Matic machine a very small chance to drop a regular pistol like a Lexington or an Omaha

Dying Night is supposed to be "your" (V's) gun, but almost every cutscene or forced section features a default Unity instead. A run using only Dying Night probably won't be too challenging compared to this or the nightmares of Skippy and Jetstream Sam, but it might still be interesting (maybe if you wanted to try a run as "true/canon" V)
I remember seeing the machine and wanting to personally do a run using thr slaught-o-matic, then found out about the amazing bug and quickly decided to NOT do the run. Especially because I play on the hardest difficulty (I hate myself), so thanks for showing off what this run would look like. But that dropped loot bag tech might make me actually try it again... Also it's quite the shame that the same bug also affects the mounted HMGs you can tear off the turrets.
The Slaught-o-Matic breaks on save/load because Cyberpunk does not correctly track or serialize weapon state. So, the Slaught-o-Matic is supposed to have a static amount of ammo in it, so it doesn't draw from your ammo pool. When the weapon is first spawned, it seems it's got its own initialization routine when equipped, which sets mag state to full. As long as you're holding it, it's fine. As long as you're equipping a freshly spawned Slaught-o-Matic from your inventory, it's fine. However, when saving a game, Cyberpunk seems to "refund" the ammo of the current weapon into your ammo pool, and on loading, immediately fill the magazine from the correct type ammo pool. You'll notice this if you squeeze off a few rounds, save, then immediately load - your mag will be full again. I'm sure this is something that can be remedied somehow using modding tools - perhaps something like creating a new table for tracking ammo of slaught-o-matic instances in inventory, but it won't be easy. The real fix would be to get CDPR to track magazine state individually for all weapons, and to save and restore magazine state for all carried items in the save file. As a rough guess I'd say it'd take a good developer a couple of weeks to fix.
