Hell yeah!!!! One of the hardest rapper bar for bar
don't understand why he and the LOX (I GROUP THEM TOGETHER) why they ain't put in the conversation more...
ESPECIALLY KISS I have NEVER EVER EVER heard a trash or mid Jadakiss verse.. and this is since the BIGGIE DAYS never
Jada one of the G.O.A.T.S. Frfrr
Their names don’t come up to heads that ain’t really into hip hop…they don’t make songs to make people dance like mainstream…ATCQ and L.O.X. Favs of all time…
I don’t feel that we ever seen the best of the best really go power for power against each other. It would’ve been nice to see big daddy Kane against Rakim, BIG against pun , KRS one against Jadakiss, Big L against Jay Z,, Ghostface killer against Busta Rhymes, Eminem against André 3000, and even DMX against ODB
Perfect Answer "can't hide behind diamonds and ferraris"
Jada was talking truth to power right here. You can apply that to almost anything people seek to accomplish in life (art, sport...)
One Hunnaa 💯💯💯💯
KRS 1- The bridge is over was my first battle heard. KRS 1 killed that shit. Jada is in my top 5. Us Baltimore guys have the upmost respect for Jada and the Lox

One of the most consistent, underrated, cultural pillars in Hip Hop. Jada the Tim Duncan of the rap game. Flawless fundamentals, true to the game, a dog and stays out the way. His name is automatically respected and when you look back at the resume, you cant deny the greatness. Classic albums, classic verses, love on every coast. Battles w 50, Beans, multiple time Verzuz winner and his authenticity/integrity has never been questioned. Kids, do your homework. Hes one of them.

I think the harsh reality is hip hop is just not competitive anymore. It's shows in the music, it shows in the artists. This generation didn't grow up watching hip hop be competitive. It's just different now

That’s the problem with rap beef’s today. The drill genre convoluted the rap game. We loved creativity and originality now the violence dominates the internet and rap😢
The money and social media made everyone soft. Back in the day you had to prove yourself, you had to hustle to get on and you had to compete against top talent. It's like the NBA yesterday vs today, everybody is paid now and too friendly. It's like a well-fed cat, it no longer needs to hunt.
I hear you to an extent, but Cole don’t need to beef with anyone to prove anything. He’ll make his music and that’s it. Hes an adult and does need to start making bars about someone when he doesn’t feel that way.
@WawaMarvel So.....all the talk about being the top rapper and crushing any competitor just goes right out the window and it's simply ok now huh?? ESPECIALLY when a formidable opponent steps forward and calls you out?? It's all good and it's ok to avoid THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCE you speak about in your bars??!!! FOH😅
@@WawaMarvelSOFT!!!🍪🍪
@@RUFFENDSand that doesn’t mean you have to throw insults. He said to paraphrase, it wouldn’t be sincere to beef and throw shots at someone’s work when you are actually a fan of that. It’s dishonest to him. That has nothing to do with being soft. He can make songs and prove how nice he is without beefing directed at an individual he considered a friend on some level. Game in a recent interview mentioned beefs he didn’t take part in because he was a fan of their work. Does that make game soft?
@WawaMarvel .. AGAIN.... these nowadays guys are taking away an ORIGINAL ELEMENT of Hip-Hop... BATTLING!! Going at each other in a sport isn’t the same as verbally insulting someone. That’s what happens in rap beef . Ppl want Cole to jump on a track , throw shots at Kendrick, why? He didn’t want to or need to. Best thing Cole needs to do is just make fire. Not diss tracks. Ppl aren’t buying diss tracks on iTunes.

I'll never give Drake any kind of lyrical props until he gets back in the ring and spars with Pusha T.
Agreed…he basically said I can’t win cuz what’s bigger than revealing the biggest artist has a kid. I’m like nah…u keep fighting till the fans say it’s over. I agree that’s an L for Drake. But he won vs Meek and he’s not backing down from Kendrick/Future right now
We really wanted a collaboration project for years
Mean while a rapper named king Los been keeping hip hop alive giving us crazy lyrics and freestyles and battling the best battle rappers on url and rare breed ent. Like Jada said people really dont want to hear that anymore and they just in tune because it’s Kendrick, Cole and Drake.

Stephen A. , I’m gonna need you to take that mock turtleneck off with a sweatsuit bro.😢😂😂
i think a call was made to j cole saying hey, apologize and stay out of it. were gonna say something but don't respond. that's how em used to do it. he would have royce call the person to squash it, than em would respond to make it seem like the other person was scared. that's what i think happened.
I love Jada because he was a huge artist that never got involved in the industry
Sure Knight changed the whole hip hop/rap culture.
This is probably the best thing that happened to us 50 really helped at the time
Great interview!
Everybody too rich to battle
If cole comes back and retracks his apology that will blow hip hop in the right direction cause i know if he comes back with some serious lyricalness addressing his apology and then goes in right at all them dudes to prove why he suppose to be here! I think Cole might have something ready incase it goes that route i just mentioned... HIP HOP needs this friendly comp to get us back to the roots of rap battles.
Back in the day you really had to prove yourself. I remember hearing MC and DJ battles on the radio Live. Finger glued to the record button. Not to mention, artists used to frequent the clubs and battle on the spot along with the Breaking crews. There was no freebies! And what's crazy there was no internet, yet you heard about the battles immediately.
Stephen A is a solid dude! And Kiss!
Have the convo ppl want to here!
Don’t throw another under the 🚌 💯
Hip hop needed these recent battles.
The moment rap went from competitive to friendly:
50 cent: We got beef
Diddy: I want your beef
😂
Kiss is the only rapper/celebrity that I’ve heard say that he doesn’t think Cole is scared of Kendrick….that that’s not the reason he bowed out. I guess Kiss is the only one with some sense on the matter, cause most people swear Cole is shivering in his boots..lol…which is not the case. He explained why he feels how he feels. He didn’t really feel a way about what Kendrick said.
It’s funny how ya’ll want him to battle someone he don’t wanna battle…which would only result in a lackluster battle.
The thing that they’re not mentioning is that drake doesn’t have the skill. He can’t go bar for bar with anyone without writers
absolutely! This thing of ours
no lies told from Jada
Real talk ... hip hop music became pop music
It's a lyrical sport , you battle each other , just don't let it get violent. Baseball , football, basketball, handball you go against each other even your friend and keep it fun.
Drake is a pop star not a rapper or hip hop 😂
Drake is nice, but not built to be batlle rapper. He would be destroyed in the 80's era and 90's era.LL,Biggie,Pac,Nas would end his career
Well… that era is over.
Rap used to be a sport. They called it "the game" for a reason. The music was better because of it!
JADA SHOWED NO MERCY FOR FAB IN THAT VERSUZ 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fab lyrically is just as nice as jada . I think fab picked the wrong songs in that versus

What we forget is these guys were gangstas and they were really beefing. It didn’t stay on wax. People got hurt behind some of these rap beefs. As a fan, I want a good battle. As a human, I don’t want to see fake beefs that may lead to serious consequences. I see clearly that they have skills.

I remember how Piggy Bank dropped and the next morning Hot 97 was playing Checkmate. Jadakiss was like, "yo I was just chilling and some kid was like 'Yo Kiss what you gonna say back to 50?' and I was like what?, they played it and I ran straight to the studio."
J. Cole let Jada down....
Let everyone down. Shit ain't right my g it ain't..
Dissing someone on a record comes with a lot of stressful nights and studying your opponent. Cole and Kendrick are people’s that came up with each other.
you can tell Jada was routing for Cole
I’m grateful to hear that The Lox function as each other’s brothers. It’s not just one leader, they all have a responsibility to play. Salute to Jada!🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🔥
As far as J. Cole , I like that he stood on his own and humbled himself for reasons we may not understand.
I can assume it wasn’t for lack of battle skills, because he’s definitely nice.🎤
So- I only came up with this, it’s a possibility he thought it could lead to the streets.
Who gets in this industry to have a real fight? That just doesn’t make sense to me. So perhaps, that’s the reason he chose not to battle. Remember , words have power, and some people have too much pride.
Although, I still believe in lyrical battles. None of us can guarantee that these lyrical battles won’t lead to bloodshed without it being understood by the artist and audience. With that said, I could see this as gaslighting, which could cause serious feuding that could lead to people getting hurt. (Not Worth It!)
Let’s make sure it stays in the studio and then have the lyrical battles.🎤🫡
My point exactly what's wrong with competition if it's just on wax Jordan was cool with Barkley with a few other players but when it's time to compete it's time to compete
Is this the whole interview??
Is part 2 the group gonna sit down.
Still one of the hardest bar for bar... The Kiss of Death
Then you have these young kids getting upset over these "beefs" and question why it has to be like this.
Kiss has always been HILARIOUS.
He needs his own show.
I love this topic.. S.A. knows.his HIP-HOP.
Stephen a great pundit but he gotta learn how to be an interviewer by letting the interviewee talk the most.
Great point 10:11🔥🔥🔥
The Kendrick/Drake beef was the best thing to happen in hip hop for years. It piqued peoples attentiveness to lyricism again, which may have been part of Kendrick’s plan.
Nice concept
Jada and Stephen A. Love it.
Did jada just call Cole the most lyrical one of em 3??? I mean jadakiss is a legend and I respect that
You can disagree and that's ok
@@royalty843 i agree with him bro
Rap is not competitive anymore because it's much easier to make money from it now and to create a platform for yourself whereby you can be seen. Back in the day rappers had to put out mixtapes and battle a plethora of other talented emcees with unique styles just to get record deals . Rappers had to get the respect of the streets before an A&R looked in their direction and they were judged on skill more than anything else.
In the 90s when the G-Funk era rose to prominence Hip Hop started to slowly stray away from pure lyricism which New York prided itself on and sound ,song construct and themes began to take priority. This allowed for rappers like Tupac to overshadow so many because while not being the most lyrical , Tupac's song making ability was much greater than alot of his peers and this made hip hop more digestible and accessible to mainstream America.
Ofc New York and the east coast had to adapt to this and rappers like Biggie and Jay Z and Nas were able to balance lyricism with song making ability. Later artistes like Jah Rule ,50 cent , Nelly would prove that the ability to make good songs that people could feel or vybe to would outweigh lyricism but alot of New York emcees continued to fight against this and kept lyrically beefing and battling one another to prove who is the best and that was no longer a priority for record labels who saw how much money Hip Hop could make once incorporated into Pop Culture.
Dumbed down lyrics ,catchy hooks and catchy beats became the most important thing and Atlanta became the centre of attention in Hip Hop as a result. This has only increased as time has gone by and old traditions of what it was to be an emcee is no longer valued and many have lost the art. It's all about money and the soul of it has been taken away.
Shout out to Jadakiss,,Steel #SHARPEN Steel
I wanna have no meeting and I don't wanna talk to Russell 😂😂😂
Battlerap is definitely great for the culture. We definitely need more of that like back in the day. Display your skillz as an MC. Keep it on wax!!!!
Preach Jadakiss! show your skills!
I think the issue is it does not matter who is the best lyricist It's who has the most hype. Case and point, Checkmate by Jadakiss Body 50 cent. No one in my high school played that track. We were bumping The Massacre.
