- Wendell Kelch of Ohio is a master restorer of classic farm tractors. This one is the exceptionally rare SD-1, built by Sheppard in Pennsylvania and delivered back in 1949. It's powered by a one-cylinder diesel engine. Wendell and his late wife Mary are leading collectors of classic farm and garden tractors, and their work has appeared many times in magazines and on the Classic Farm Tractors Calendar.

Fantastic old oddball tractor!
Wendel has some very neat tractors in his collection & several of them can be seen on his YT channel, if anyone is curious.
Never heard of a Sheppard tractor before, neat little tractor. Thanks Mr. Kelch for sharing your rare tractor with us. I hope your Memorial Day was great. Thanks and have a good week.
Diesel motor engine sound addiction disorder who doesn't have that?
I wish I could get RFDTV. I used to have it 20 years ago. I always watched Classic Tractor Fever on that network.

I worked for Shepard in the 80's
My Novo powered Atomic Babe is still cultivating my watermelons and sweet corn. Can't believe they were that expensive. Quick question, was orange also used on Atomic babe, mine is red, but my 3 bolt split cast iron front wheels were orange on the inside. Hard to find info. Thanks again 👍
Obviously way overpriced for what it was, I'm surprised it was in production for 6 years.
He said Shepherd tractor production ran for 6 years. He didn't say how long this model was produced.
They made them for 1 year, 1949
An Theresa's one in southern Indiana it's a SD-1 FACT
