Soo.. i gotta ask : where is this stupid notion of "the norm is - you are the hero in the game" coming from? Sure most games focus on the player character being or becoming stronger or a pivotal point in the universal narrative, however this weird defensive stance I've seen in ED community about "...but you're NOT supposed to be the hero" often ether is used as a complete non-sequitur argument/excuse when talking about something in the game OR used to excuse VERY poor decisions/execution (mostly story related, like "why is there no story quests in the game? -cuz you're not the hero" yes I simplify, but hopefully my point is understood.) So then.. Power-play : the system (from pure game-design perspective) is a dressed up, more appealing and visual representation for the boring BGS. Always been. The failure of it pretty much comes down to hostile game-design with very poor rewards. Idea is not a bad one : "give BGS a friendly face to attract normies" but it thoroughly fucked up by making associated gameplay boring(you do same shit as normal gameplay), tedious(to get rewards or change something it takes butt-load of grinding), hostile(always removing 1/2 of your merit points & decreasing rank, making you loose access to things) and prohibitively exclusive (4weeks in 1 power to get the module... f-off!). The new PP2 : who cares?! the game still has massive in-balance problems mainly caused by the real culprit : Engineering. Still if Fdev change PP then ...OK. not like anyone took the last one serious one, so unless they majorly screw up with the new one, not much will change in real, tangible terms and we'll go back to same-old same-old....

@@modernspectrumgaming hehe, i guess. however the video kind of lacks .. a point. what I gather the script is aimlessley saying : "players not main-chars -> powerplay MIGHT change that? how? IDK! -> smth smth thargoids...?? -> PP2 needs to be thargoid gameplay #2" so yeah .. the script, if you had one, needs a lot more groundwork laid out, cuz this felt VERY disjointed (and mind you, this is me saying it!)
