The Thargoids may have taken Sol, but it has strengthened the Elite Dangerous community.
In a last-ditch moment, Titan Cocijo made the jump to Sol to orbit Earth-the symbolic home of humanity. It raced to set up defenses and controls systems, began to invade nearby systems, and waited for the counter-attack.
The counter-attack came from far and wide, pulling in commanders from across the galaxy and calling back lapsed Elite Dangerous players back into the game. The final chapter is still being written, but if you consider where Elite Dangerous was this time last year, Froniter Developments' staff should enjoy the festive break.
And there might be one more Christmas surprise for us...
