  • Moreton Memories is the latest music video produced by Mere Modicum. John Tucker composed, arranged and orchestrated the music, supported by a range of black and white photographs prepared by Sandra Tucker.
Inspired by John's early life growing up in Moreton, Wirral Cheshire during the 50s and 60s, the music is positive and lyrical. The accompanying photographs represent key locations that were important in this period of John's life and include: Moreton Cross, the house in Harvest Lane where John was born, Lingham Lane Infants School, Lingham Lane Junior School and Moreton Secondary Modern. After school, John and his brother Gary played in a band at Cadbury's social club, part of the Cadbury factory where John's father, Allan, worked. Moreton shore and the Lighthouse are backdrops to the village and John spent many hours exploring there on his scooter or bicycle.

I remember you - you were a nasty bully of a fuck. One of the reasons I got out of the place as soon as I could.

It was Lingham County Primary and County Infants School. I remember being told this by the headmaster Mr. Sefton. A very kindly gentleman. Moreton itself was a dump. The Lingham estate was soulless. I got out the place as soon as I could. Who would want to work in a chocolate biscuit factory for their working lives. That's all there was. I now understand (2023) that the Junior School was torn down because of asbestos problems. Jesus what Wallasey Council did to Children back in the day!
