  • 44 years ago in 1971, an album was issued through the Liverpool local newspaper "The Liverpool Echo" with the profits going to the "Liverpool Echo 1971 Christmas Appeal for the Old and Needy". www.liverpoolpicturebook.com/
    The record is in the form of a documentary about Merseyside with famous Liverpudlians and people associated with Liverpool talking about the area, the culture, soccer, scouse dialect etc. with especially recorded interviews and music performed especially for the record.
    Includes John Peel * Kenny Everett * Roger McGough * Adrian Henri * Arthur Askey * Harold Wilson * Arthur Dooley * Frankie Vaughan * Arthur Askey and many many more. I have used this Record to make this video showing scenes in Liverpool. Most of the pictures are from the Liverpool records Office and others are either owned by me or sourced from the internet. If you would like credit for any of the pictures please let me know and I will acknowledge you.
    The video has been made for pleasure and to share and is not for profit.

    I was 15 when i left for Canada and never went back, but it a rare day that i don't think of my home City.
    Playing near the Ralla and the floating down the Cut on home made rafts.

    ""Actually Liverpool people don't really realise how funny they are until they come away from home" So true. I spend a lot of my time in The Netherlands, it's a beautiful country but nothing quite hits the spot like Scouse humour!

    when I was young I got caught short on the 14c bus and had to do a poo in the local paper and hid it behind a chair on the top deck at the back. The next day I went to get on the bus and the conductor told me I was banned because I did a poo on the bus the night before. I asked him how he knew and he said " It was in The Echo this morning"..
    ..boom boom\\i'm here all week.

    • @BobEdwardsLiverpool
      @BobEdwardsLiverpool  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +be frank No idea who sang it but is was released as a 7" single so possibly may be found on e-bay.

    • @shorethings5456
      @shorethings5456 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this question is a year old, but it was sung by Mickey Finn, Steve Faye & others (?). Not sure if Stan Kelly was involved. That's all I know.

    • @paulmason4616
      @paulmason4616 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shorethings5456 Billy Moocho (Courtliff) was a contributor. The song came about as a result of a Frank Harris cartoon strip called Scottie Road in the late 1970s. It was about a group of teenagers who set up a group called Scottie Road that tried to emulate the Merseybeat era. When the strip finished the Down Old Scottie Road song was released for charity funds.q

    If you look at our architecture. ....did we build that ? Or did unskilled slaves build it ? I don't think so .. Reckon we got to look further x
    Look at the shite we still are being told we have to be proud of now.....
