7 years of school is like 250k. Her 80k salary is like 50k after tax. 5x her take home pay. Probably a 20 year repayment. Unbelievable.

I can relate to this hard, it’s tough out here for PTs. You definitely do PT for the fulfillment it brings and not the pay

PT is not worth it, our burnout rate is getting higher and our reimbursement lower. If you want to go healthcare go another route

Joined the Army after HS, did 4 years. Learned a skill set at was making 75k (in Baltimore) by the time I was 23 with no college and most importantly no debt. 7 years of college to make $80k is absurd. Not saying college is a waste of time but it definitely isn’t the only answer, the military and trades open a lot of doors to.

That’s basically the maximum salary for physiotherapists in Australia. Lol. If you convert $80K (USD) to $125k (AUD).
You basically need the highest possible ATAR or equivalent to get in a University to study it for 4 years ($51k per year at my local University). Absolute scam.

The median salary is almost 100K.
I work in a rehab field that is paid less on average and am starting at 109K.
It depends on where you work and which setting. Hospitals don’t pay as well as home health for example.

For everyome saying she doesn't make enough for 7 years of school. She is only 2 years in her career. She will make well into 6 figures mid career and she has a doctorate degree. She can teach at the university level as a second career!! Lets not talk down on people who accomplish their academic and career goals. Good for her!!
