Honestly, GEM editor is the best i spent hundreds of hours on MowAs GEM.
Wow looks really immersive. I feel a different kind of tension than I do with regular FPS. Everything has explosions and gunfire every where, full on battles.
Here, a lot more tactical skirmishes meaningful troop movement and it feels like a living breathing battlefield.
Like a mashup between Company of Heroes, Men Of War, and Close Combat III.
The UI makes me think it is made by the creators of Men of War
@@unknownclock8300 it kind of is, it uses the same engine as Call To Arms which is an updated version of the engine used by Men Of War. It's also published by the company that made Men of War. But it's developed by a separate company.

My grandfather played this in real life. I have his early war diary. He was in Poland, at the Russian border on June 22nd. His entry that day, in capital letters- "KRIEG MIT RUSSLAND".

I'm really enjoying this so far. I thought i was going to feel underwhelmed coming from MOWAS2 but this feels like a 3d version of the old school Close Combat games with the dynamic campaigns and units management aspect.
This is going to be one of the greatest ww2 games. One thing I would change is that I would make it so soldiers run with only one hand on their rifle. There's a reason carry handles were invented.

From what I’ve seen you can call in the stages whenever you want so as you have enough AP.

Glad to see this getting some solid single player game focus, and something more than just a linear-ish campaign. I've been optimistically hopeful for this and it seems like it's headed in the right direction
This map looks so amazing man, shits come along way since the original days of the first sudden strike games (1&2) and combat mission and theatre of war series to name some of the BEASTS
This is essentially call to arms conquest. And i love it. Sadly this looks like normal is way to easy. Maybe because call to arms conquest is alot harder. Enemy reinforcements feel endless compared to your limited supply so attrition pays a big factor.
Hey Raptor if you buy the defense upgrade in the research tree you will get more defenses and maybe some AI defenders that's how it is for the normal call to arms conquest mode

Why does everyone think that every infantry squad should have a medic? It's a very specialist trade and would be part of a larger group organization (company level etc)
@@AmazonWebService98 I was speaking about WW2 Infantry sections really. Im British army and only saw a medic after someone was hit badly. It wasn't until l went to SF that we had medics in the unit.
Weird how the smoke stacks on the factories are smoking even though the factory is destroyed.

... one of the interesting things about this game is that the soldiers' helmet hanging from the belt can be put on or removed at any time from what I saw.

You have to buy your defenses that come garrisoned by AI troops like in call to arms, which this mode is from.

This game is soo nice
Played it last night, I really enjoyed MOW Assault Squad 2 that had a 50/50 mix between micromanagement and fun gameplay, this felt like a 75/25 is favour of micromanagement. It felt more of a chore than enjoyable, I want to like it because I love ww2 rts games but felt a bit underwhelming.
I'm liking this game much. Thanks Raptor for playing and sharing., Do more. ;)

Men of War Assault Squad 2 with Robz Realism mod is my groups favorite way to play. I've heard mixed things about Call to Arms so I've held back getting it.
Gates of Hell has me intrigued though.

was this always a call to arms DLC? When I first put it on my wishlist Im sure it was advertised as a standalone game and a spiritual successor to Men of War etc

@@smokeybear1597 i think from what I saw, because its not the original people who made mowas2, there were licensing issues or something and to get around all that its being classed as a call to arms dlc but its technically its own thing

Hey raptor usually I'm supportive of everything you do but I wanted to give you some constructive criticism in regards to playing this game facing counts for a lot so when you've got armored vehicles with their back ends facing the enemy thinnest armor possible you could be presenting I'm almost positive you know this I've seen you play tank games before you're probably just caught up in the broader brush strokes anyway keep gaming thank you for giving us this beautiful entertainment.

How does one gain this "exclusive version" of the game that you have? I decided after 2 videos that I was gonna get this game, got it, played the training and first mission thing, but the multiplayer and dynamic campaign are grayed out. I'm ready to get addicted to this game

I was so damn excited for this game, until I realized that it isn't going to be a game at all. It's just DLC. I waited years for this moment, just to be shit on. Yall fucked up, bad. This had SO much potential, but now its just another "could have been".

If Call to Arms is required, I just saw it on Steam the other day for like $4.00
They simply can't make it standalone because of license problems and this is a fact you should face. There is no problem in buying cta for this amazing game, and it's going to be cheaper in pack so you should wait until realise because you missed huge discount on cta

some times when rts games try to make it more realistic is kinda boring, a company of heroes is better, its more frenetic and fun, so thats why this kind of ames arent that popular now.
