It would be nice to see a campaign for every famous battle in ww2 with historically accurate maps. also cant wait till the add dismemberment and blood pools like in Robz. also I hope the put in the video settings the ability to make dead soldiers bodies last longer so you can pick up their stuff. and if we could also have a 1st person option.

There's a third person control mode you can switch to instead of the classic direct control, you find this in the game options and it allows you to basically play as a first person shooter. I find it fun to use it with snipers and tanks and really be in control of where my shots go.

the fact that the devs cant call the Waffen SS "The Waffen SS" is a shame
I don't think they were directly part of the SS, they were their own elite troop, though it is stupid how games theses days have to sensor themselves because it could hurt someones feelings
The conquest mode is included in base call to arms as well, and I've figured out a bit how it works there and it doesn't look too different from here. For one, I think you talked a bit about the maps and the defenders and what not, from what I can tell the maps are all random and have nothing to do with what point you pick on the map, the point you pick on the map just changes what units/how many units the AI gets to fight you with, the more stars you pick the harder the individual mission will be. As for what units the AI gets, in base call to arms they get templates of units that they just get to spam until the timer runs out, apparently they have a limit but its much, much higher than the amount of units that you'll ever get to field. That combined with the men of war GEM engine style AI makes the mode kind of unfulfilling because at first it will just be infantry running to their death into your machine guns and mortars until they are replaced with hordes of tanks that respawn until you just give up because its so unfair.
Now from all the videos I've watched of the Gates of Hell conquest it looks like they've toned down the spammy-ness of the AI, but I still don't think they have an actual pool of units like the player does, but that makes me wonder how easy it will end up being, since the AI is literally incapable of setting up good defenses around a point or attacking in anyway that isn't head on into death.
I think a PVP conquest mode would be really, really cool, but I don't think it'd be possible or it would be very difficult to implement. As of now, you can host coop conquest missions on a mission by mission basis, and you pick which units are sent to your allies with the give unit command already present from men of war games.
This is very, very true, I am also playing the dynamic conquest in the base call to arms and you are spot on. Playing on hardcore realism and the enemy is just spamming tanks after a while, so every phase I have has an AT Team and a TOW in it... the infantry is just getting mowed down by vehicles, it's ridiculous.
I do love the idea of a dynamic campaign though, and makes the game feel like a roguelike or something, hope they get the balancing right.

The main background screen for conquest is still the same from CtA. A m4 with a grenade launcher.

You should make sure to loot better weapons off your enemies because its persistent. Maybe some smgs for the medics?
I have a little interesting history lesson about this part of that terrible conflict. There was a time when German Panzer General Guderian was up on a hill and had a clean shot in to Moscow - just a couple of infantry units between them and Moscow - about a two day drive in their tanks.
But because he wasn't the Army Group commander, they made him sit on that hill.
yea the germans would go south cuz their oil reservs were low and there they would meet their fate, the end of operation barbarossa

Looks that way but it’s very much the same as men of war assault squad and you can dodge Grenades in mp as players a lot easier as it’s just ai

in this mode you can take tanks, weapons and other tools that you take

This is a special version of the beta (the closed beta) for influencers and developers, you own the access to the open beta. Phase 1 of the open beta is over, so the next phase will soon unlock with new modes. Hope that helps!
