Mike! 11:00 Check the keys on old pianos that are being tossed. If they are old enough to have the real ivory veneers on the keys, those are worth salvaging. The old keys are needed for restorations on other pianos that may be missing a few of them.
Hey Mike last thanksgiving I went by a doctors office and dove into one, full up with knee,hip,elbow,stainless steel rods and pin came out to be 800$ for 15 minutes of work.

Seems like a lot of those items would make more by selling them at a Flea Market or Yard Sale, than taking them to scrap, but I know the FM and YS takes a lot of time and work to set up. I'd check what is in those envelopes in those old nightstands under the drawers, as they could have money hidden in them.

Mike, Rev. Paul Eustis Florida, most pianos have a metal stringers. The more costly use brass or copper/brass mixture.
Mike that harp in the piano is cast iron, most of the time it weighs around 450lb
