Several years ago, they featured something like this on This Old House, which they called a "Lawn Tea" using Kelp, coffee grinds and several other ingredients. This looks so much easier with similiar benefits. I really needed to apply this several weeks ago, but will certainly apply in the next two weeks before we hit the fall reseeding season.

Great video and recipe. I've been using organic lawn and garden products for 16 years now, but hadn't seen this particular recipe before. I live in South Texas where we have brutally hot summers which can be tough on our St Augustine lawns. Thanks for posting links to these products as well. I ordered the humic acid and kelp. I'll definitely be using this recipe later this week. Thank you amigo and have a great week!

I just want to thank you once again for the video.I started using it months ago and my lawn has never been so healthy and green even when we use to have a professional lawn care service.
I did modify the formula at my own risk last month to accommodate my backyard garden as well. Instead of superthrive I substituted it for a product called AgroThrive. I waited for it to rain a day before then applied the formula. What I notice is I have to cut the grass every 5 days and increase yield to my garden. Even with this Texas heat, lawn and garden are not so stress out like before. It's TRUE a healthy root system is the key!

For general spraying, I use a 12v automotive battery with a 12v utility pump, hooked up to a garden hose and nozzle. Pumping out of a standard 5 gal bucket. Also use soil probiotics with beneficial soil bacteria (Bacillus), i.e. B. subtilis, B. licheniformis, B. megaterium, B. mucilaginosus, B. laterosporus, photosynthetic bacteria, Actinomycetes, B. cereus, B.amyloliquefaciens,
    B. pumilus and mycorrhizal fungi (primarily Trichoderma). Soil bacteria are better as they are more resilient to adverse environmental changes. Organic fertilizer is added last.

MAN, DOES MY YARD LOOK SO MUCH BETTER. I add this to my yards about every 3 weeks. Thank you, what an improvement. Its so much thicker and greener. Looking forwars to seeing how it handles weeks over 95°.

I already apply humic acid in a granular form every two weeks so most likely if you do the same thing you can bypass the liquid method. I would also suggest adding six or more ounces of a quality surfactant to help break the water tension for better absorption by the leaves..

8 fl. oz (1 cup) of sea kelp per 4 gallons for 2500-3000 sq ft
    in the video
4 fl. oz per 2 gallons for 1500 sq ft
2 fl. oz per 1 gallon for 750 sq ft
so ~ .3 cups per gallon for 1000 sq ft
= ~2.5 oz per gallon for 1000 sq ft

Curious if you have any updates on your spray results for the year. I sprayed every 2 weeks adding chelates iron every other spray. I used a finer spray to try to enhance foliar absorption. Must say the lawn looked its best ever this year
Couldn’t find definite information whether humic is absorbed by foliage or only via soil drench
In my opinion the humic really helped with iron uptake and the lawn greened up beautifully
There’s such controversy out there about using any of this so I would love to know your opinion . I plan on doing it again in 2022. In addition to the reduced heat stress I saw a marked improvement in reduced soil compaction

Useful, I will have to calculate the US to UK gallons based on the US Ratio stated on the video. We have 8 pints to a gallon in the UK, our pints are bigger than US pints by 20.8 %. I remember that buying a Guinness on 5th Avenue in NY in 2002, 5 Dollars a US pint UK Pint was 21% more liquid and even in the south of England was about £2.50 a pint then ,the ER was 1.53 $ to the pound so UK Guinness was 3.83$ and English pint!!! US Beer expensive!! 👍

@@loosecannon124 Yes the mix in the container was added to the sprayer to then make 4 gallons of solution. With that much walk at a normal pace to get an even covering of the grass, you dont have to go super heavy. It will vary how much you can do but for me the 4 gallons covered about 4000 sq ft. You can't over apply this, and you can under apply and still get benefits so this is one of the few treatments you don't have to strss yourself over. The grass will love any of this and the kelp.
