Great info! Love how you used a little bit larger stones / rocks over your weed prevent tarped areas. Pays for itself in the long run and looks nice for a really long time. Doesn't sink down as easily or push tarp down. Doesn't blow away with blower. Doesn't float away with heavy rains or thunderstorms. So much easier to remove seasonal excess dead leaves and or after trimming the blushes. You can blow the dead or freshly cut leaves off the stones ... WITHOUT blowing away or scattering smaller stones. Some day ... hoping to have a yard that looks like that. Very nicely done and well maintained. Currently in the process of redoing everything the last homeowner did ... sigh ... If only I knew then what I know now (slowly discovered over time ... too much time). 😅

This is right on time. I removed my old mulching a few weeks ago and have not replaced it yet. Due to the rain and sunshine I have a ton of weeds that have popped up, I needed this information. Gras B Gon is a good product.

I LOVE this video! You’re so well spoken and clear about application with each product! I will add, from personal experience, if you use the weed blocking fabric, be extra attentive to spraying for ants. My yard has the blocking fabric in all the garden beds, over the years ants have come and gone, making ant hills wherever they chose to, thus bringing fresh dirt and soil right on top of the fabric layer. I’ve been out in the yard for hours and hours using the leaf blower and a hard rake to move the rocks around, and to blow the old ant hills back into the grass to stop the ruthless weeds.
Nice video. I needed this. My second season in lawncare business. My first flowerbed project coming up. I'm alil neverous but I know practice make perfect
You're an excellent teacher, clear and articulate and you have a nice voice. Was wondering if you've ever tried the vinegar method? I just can't bring myself to using chemicals even though vinegar is one it isn't a forever chemical. When the rain comes it dilutes and goes away after the weeds have died off. I found it to be affective so for spot and wide treating, in a garden sprayer I've switched to using straight vinegar, 1tsp Dawn Dish Soap per 1 gal. saturate to soak down to the root on a sunny hot day and you'll notice a difference in hours. You have to get down to the root by saturating or otherwise it comes right back. It's a broad spectrum so it kills anything it's sprayed on. To prevent weeds there's the cardboard roll method. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
I have to get down on the ground and hand pull weeds because desirable seeds are coming up as well plus there are a lot of plants among the weeds. So hard.
I have my yard sprayed monthly for weeds but it is a losing battle since the neighbors on both sides of me just let the weeds all grow in their yards. I guess I will have to end my spraying, as it is a losing battle with neighbors who do this. ;-(
Thank you so very much for your channel. I live in the country and we get anything and everything here. I do have vines that grow up on trees and literally suck the life out of them. What can I use? I have an ash tree that is at least 3 stories high and the vines are literally making it die off and fall apart. Please help!
I've actually started using this recipe for the first time this year. I've never had so many weeds in the 24 yrs I've lived in my house. We had flooding rains this past winter that actually washed the neighbor's wood chip mulch from 3 houses up into our yard, so I think I also was gifted with more weed seeds too. I found this method to kill the tops only for some weeds and others permanently.
@@bpeters9466I too have more weeds than ever before in my front bushes. I hard pruned them in the winter, to bare branches, they were horribly overgrown. I'm experimenting to see if they come back. Well 6 months later the soil beneath them suddenly sprouted weeds. I found Natria on sale. It killed within hours. Now I'm trying to do inexpensive mulching, mixing potting soil and my cat's used pine litter. I'm experimenting.
@mettamorph4523 So far I haven't been able to find Natria in the local stores. I'm going to order online. I've been using the vinegar solution, but have so many weeds it's ridiculous. I think doing practically daily yard cleanup from the winds we had this year didn't help. I disturbed all my mulch trying to keep the yard clean. I'm a little worried about the cat urine in your litter mulch. It will be acidic. Animal urine can cause brown spots in grass and I know from experience from one of my cats constantly spraying one globe evergreen over and over, that it now has a big "hole" in the side of the greenery. Maybe a tiny bit of lime could counteract that. Not a yard guru, just don't want you losing anything. Idk, but it's already Hades hot outside, the weeds may win this year. Good luck in your yard. Happy gardening!

Great video Michael, explained well and thoughtfully. But I have one question? I have a gravel driveway, not weed barrier underneath, Would Preen work on keeping the weeds and grasses from growing into the stones? I have been using salted water with vinegar and dish soap but its isn't as effective as I would like. It is a long narrow driveway so it needs to have a efficient dispersal method. Thank you have a great day.
I want to have a wildflower flower bed planted, but I am afraid that many of the wildflowers are actually considered to be weeds. I plan to till up the garden, but I don't want to plant the wildflowers only to have them die from the spraying.
