Very Pretty and pretty quick to make! Sympathy cards are always the hardest for me to make and it would be nice to have a stash of them on hand when i need them. Thanks for sharing.
Pro tip: For even better results, tear washi tape to seal and close the sides and bottom of the embossing folder for a more secure and better print. The washing tape will not jam up your machine.
I already ordered this vellum after watching Tiffany Solorio using her link. But I will be getting the 6 inch stick tape with yours! I have ordered the foam strips and sticky dots through you at different times. Hey, I'm stuck on you! Lol! Love these simple and elegant cards. You're awesome!
I do have vellum it’s kind of medium thickness so I did order the heavier that you used but in the meantime, it still worked OK but what I did was I went over it after with white pigment ink very lightly, and it even made the flowers more dominant thanks for the beautiful card idea
My one and only attempt, i used the rose gold paint pens, i love so much. It worked too, but the card, even with that and doodads, seemed awkward. I am so grateful for this video!
I was looking for some sympathy card inspiration and your upload notification popped up on my screen. Beautiful cards, and thanks a lot for sharing, but I’m sorry to hear you’ve been needing them lately. Sending you positive thoughts from Canada.
Amy, I too watched Tiffany's video and ordered the same thick vellum. It just came today, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet! I was very excited to see your video. Can't wait to give it a try!
Amy, just now had a chance to watch your video. I was crafting with friends all day! I love to use vellum with embossing folders. Thanks you for reminding me what a great technique this is. I am going to batch a bunch of Sympathy cards so that I have them before I need to use them. I have a great folder of paw prints that I’m also going to batch some pet Sympathy cards with. 😊❤️🐾🌵
Thank you! I have a bunch of vellum, especially patterned, but my first attempt was a total disaster, so there it sits. I will try again. Great storage idea, too! I learned a lot! ❤
Amy I love the vellum on that 3d card. It really gives that soft effect. I always get a crack when using that 3d folder on exactly the same place as you. Yvonne 😊 x
Amy - This video was so helpful to me. We lost someone very special and I needed several sympathy cards that weren’t too involved, but that had the “wow” factor. I had ordered this same vellum after watching someone else use and recommend it so I knew these were the cards to make. Thanks for making these helpful videos.
A church member' s sister passed away, and I don't have any sympathy cards in my stash. I searched and saw your video, and luckily, I have some vellum I can experiment with! Thank you, Amy, for your quick tutorial, and your cards are beautiful!
Those cards are really beautiful. I am new to card making, so I am surprised by some of the things that I am learning. I didn't realize that there were so many different kinds of vellum out there! I love the tricks you used so that the glue won't be seen under the vellum. Thank you!
Oh man, really?? I didn't realize it was selling out! Thanks so much for watching! Be sure to hit the notify me button. Both simon and scrapbook are really good about those and it encourages them to refill the stock quickly.
Thank you so much Amy, I really really enjoyed watching you create those gorgeous and stunning card’s and I’m definitely going to try some thick velum, as it’s a real game changer. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumb’s up too. Please stay safe and well too
Great idea using vellum and sticky back tape. I love the simple idea of this as we too are having to use too many of these cards. Your cards are lovely!
beautiful. never thought about using full adhesive coverage. it worked well for me. I had some old SU embossing paper, like 35 year old. It's thick. Getting down to my last sheets and ordered more through your link. Thank you.
I haven't tried it yet, but another show said you could put a piece of cardstock under the vellum and it won't crack. Then you have another card front for a differet card already made. Loved, loved, loved, the calm colors you used for the cardstock. Very pretty!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
@@amyswares After seeing this tip yesterday I tried it today. It absolutely works…wonderfully! And the bonus was having a beautifully embossed piece of vellum AND a beautifully embossed piece of cardstock!

Great tutorial! Have you tried attaching the embossed vellum with the stick tape on it to another flat piece of thick vellum for a more translucent card? Thank you!
The cards are absolutely exquisite. I wonder what water does, since unlike cardstock, vellum isn’t porous. Unless it is? 🧐 And wonder if regular embossing folders instead of 3D would mean less cracking, though if you hadn’t pointed it out, I wouldn’t have noticed.
It did have a small difference with the water 🤷♀️. I would imagine reg ones would put less pressure. However I have embossed with regular embossing folders and thinner vellum and still had cracking. So I think it depends mainly on the thickness of the vellum and the actual design. Ones with longer lines or more geometric long features in the design tended to crack for me. Thanks for watching friend.

Beautiful cards! 😍 The first pair of scissors you used (to trim the adhesive) look like an oversized pair of Cutterbees. Are they? I love my Cutterbee scissors and would love to have a larger pair to use in certain circumstances. But I haven’t found any online. I’m curious! Thanks for any help you can provide.
They were actually given to me so I don't know anything about them unfortunately. They're actually really gunked up and hard to use because of adhesive. Oopsies
