    Poor Ringo, I never saw him crying before but you could really see that the relationship between him and George were as strong as they were real brothers. It always makes me sad to see the old footage, like George helping Ringo in the Let It Be Session for "Octupus's Garden" or writing and gifting songs for him like "It Don't Come Easy" which would eventually become a no. 1 hit. Ringo really loved him.

      Ringo is the credited writer of "It Don't Come Easy" but George did lend a hand. All three of the other Beatles supported and aided Ringo's career, and he helped theirs. In many ways, Ringo was the glue of that group and he loved each of them like a brother, and showed up for each of them in key personal and professional moments. I'll always love Ringo's big heart and the way that the others just embraced him. He really is and was a terrific drummer, but as John put it, "he was a great Beatle". And the 4 Beatles were VERY tight-knit, more than any other band I can think of, other than perhaps a band that includes family (and Lord knows many of those don't get along half as well as the Lads did).

    • @jimmyjunks
      @jimmyjunks ปีที่แล้ว +86

      I wouldn’t say “gave them what they wanted” as you can tell at both times he was a bit agitated, but he wanted the world to know how he felt. He & Ringo are fed up with the music industry spinning the story on the Beatles.

    Paul has such class. To be questioned and pestered about one of his closest friends after he died and to still be kind to the reporters and photographers and have the patience to answer their questions. I grew up in Liverpool. I was 5 years old when The Beatles came on the scene, but I'd heard people talking about them and, even now, I remember that there was a strange vibration spreading around the city, some kind of sense of expectation. I'd just started listening to music, via my parents records. Dad had a load of classical stuff and mum had more up beat stuff. I loved all of it. Then there were pictures on the news and I recognised the places I was seeing on TV. Within just a few weeks EVERYBODY was talking about them, they were everywhere. The girls were arguing over who was the best looking, the "bring back Pete" movement was fading and the music was like nothing else. Fab days growing up in Liverpool then. Years later I attended The Liverpool Institute High school For Boys, which had been Paul and George's old school. After leaving school, I joined a band because I wanted to sing, we were rehearsing in The Casbah, in the same room The Beatles had used. Most of us in Liverpool wanted to be in a band, and that's still the case now. Being left-handed and playing guitar struck a chord with me (sorry about the pun!). Most families in Liverpool had an instrument in the house, a piano, guitar, banjo, or even just a pair of spoons or a comb and paper. That had been the case for years before The Beatles came on the scene, so music was the soundtrack for everybody back then, so The Beatles really were just four lads from down the road. George died on my birthday.

It was owned by Pete Best's mother and John and Paul, and Cynthia Lennon, and perhaps also Stuart Sutcliffe helped decorate it, and their artwork is still on the wall. It was how they knew Pete, basically, and how he became their drummer when they got the offer to go to Hamburg

    George Harrison was the spiritual Beatle who brought the 3 Beatles and their lady partners into TM yoga meditation by visiting Maharishi Mahesh Yogi vin his famous ashram In India. Prior, George was already studying some Indian phlosophy. He has even incorporated the chanting of Hare Krishna in his songs.
