Finally! A Lannister always keeps his word, that's a terribly inaccurate saying but yea, hope you guys enjoy! IMPORTANT! Although I quadruple checked the video in the edit, the sound at around 14:30 cuts out for around 10 seconds for some reason. Here is what I would have said : "After the sword is “blessed” she and Gendry bring it to Jon and Dany with their new born in her arms, telling Jon that for the sword to work, the prince that was promised must drive the sword through the heart of his love."
Hiding behind the walls makes you look weak.... No it makes you smart. Unless you are attacking there is no reason to be out of the gates. Castles, fortresses and other fortifications are created for a reason. You know a besieging army will have to waste hundreds or thousands of lives to break their defences. That line was a piss-poor reason for the battle of the bastards to take place. Because if Ramsey used his walls LIKE HIS DAD DOES ORIGINALLY IN THE BOOK- jon and his shit ass army would have been wiped out. No siege weapons an army of wilding with no real armor and very little siege experience. Yeah they'd be fucked. Flick Fanatics Again you are NOT limited to just 6 episode, it could’ve been 10 but because the Dumb & Dumber really want to do Star Wars next they rush Game of Thrones! Still a good video you made, but you shouldn’t limited yourself with just 6 episodes, Thank you for reading.🙏
The speech Jamie gives about wanting to serve at the wall is a great callback and contrast to the man he was when he belittled Jon for wanting to join the NW in season one
Damn. Give this man a team and a budget. Also, imagine Arya just standing there as Jamie is mourning Arya : um...Can i carve out her face now? Jamie : what? Arya : what?
Just now found this re-write a year later and it’s just... perfection. Well done. All the characters stay true to themselves and their respective arcs to the very end
@@flickfanatics7948 This is honestly the best of the rewrites ive seen. And it wrenches my heart to see Dany essentially kill herself like this, but in the "omg this is so tragic" way, not the "oh wtf what is she doing OH HELL NO WHAT THE FUCK D & D-" way. this is proper game of thrones. I just wish so much for dany to survive and rule, but you did give us that briefly, so thank you.
Yeah, it was really good. I'm one of the few that don't castigate D&D too harshly as they gave us so many years of great TV. We all know they messed up S8 and could have done better if they'd spent more time on it. George was no help really as he hasn't a clue what'g going to happen either. Incorporating Lady Stoneheart would have been nice, and her learning the true lineage of Jon. But this was ace, since it gives a lot more depth and closure to character arcs, and would lose long OTT moments with no dialogue. Jaime and Night King's fates, as well as Drogon blasting up out of the water, would have been epic.
Yep! I'm glad you noticed it, that's one of the reasons I gave him that conversation with Jon in episode 4 as it's the first time they've have a proper talk since then and shows how far hes come.
I never realized it, but Jon and Jamie were on pretty much the same path, minus the resurrection and all. They sort of switch places in this version too.
I agree Jamie’s and bronns arc are brilliant. One minor idea: even in your version I think that more main characters should die. Maybe brienne doesn’t just get wounded when Jamie is with Cersei but she actually dies and Jamie watches her death which ultimately triggers his decision to kill Cersei. This way him joining the nights watch makes even more sense because there is no possible life with brienne that could happen at casterly rock. Jamie basically sacrificed everything he valued in order to restore his honor.
@@flickfanatics7948 The only think I have an problem with, is that Jamie is getting named Lord Commander of the Nights Watch...I mean, if Dany changes the rules of the Nights watch after the fall of the wall, ok, but that would need to be communicated some how...if not, the viewer would still expect the Lord Commander be elected by his pears.
There’s so much here that makes sense. Main characters dying for a purpose, Arya using the face changing skills she acquired, Jamie fulfilling his character arc by killing his sister, etc, but most importantly, Dany staying true to who she’s been by sacrificing herself for the greater good knowing the seven kingdoms will be in good hands until her daughter can rule. The arc of the night king not laying waste to everything but still killing Bran and then getting killed himself is a great twist, especially because he would be a threat until the end. Your version was well thought out and a salve for the discomfort that was the 8th season train wreck. Thank you for your work and for sharing it with us!
Ngl, I think the mad queen could've worked. She was always a bit bonkers anyway, but I agree that they needed more than six episodes to do it and so they should've just kept her good
train wreck is the correct phrase to describe what happened. This is a beautiful version. He used the word cathartic several times in this video, and that is what I felt as I listened to every story arc being completed.
When Arya approaches an injured hound, he says " am I the last one on your list then girl". A tear rolls down her face as she stabs him and puts him out of his misery.
This is sooooooooo much better than what HBO gave us. I love the way you Incorporated Aryas faceless men training, made Brans abilities actually useful, Incorporated the Azor/lightbringer prophecy, the valanquar prophecy, gave Jaime a real story arch, gave Danny a real story arch, and just generally made sense, unlike HBO. Thanks for this.
Mike Warren you should know that HBO wanted to make more Seasons and give them More Time but David Benioff and DB weiss wanted to wrap to whole Story up in 6 episodes
Every single problem I had with the real ending was answered...I haven’t touched a single second of GoT content since that finale and my goodness this gave me chills like the old days...amazing
I'm just at Jaime trying to convince cersei to surrender and then when you mentioned the wildire i got goosebumps because this makes so much sense - jaime killed the last king who tried this tactic and its come full circle but with the woman he loves. its perfect. cersei being the mad queen makes so much more sense in a world where cause and effect rule supreme. this is brilliance. thank you. Until george himself finishes the books this is my canon ending.
His intention was basically this. He at least now knows this was a complete utter dumpster fire, I don't believe everyone was expecting a happy ever after, we basically got that with all the main characters getting the shaft.
@@plisskenetic he probably will but there is diffrence,in books we can already see dany going mad in book 5,jon is dead and probably wont come back since in show stannis'es story is transfered to jon's and there is a lady stoneheart, and jaime is hating cersei so there are few diffrences,oh i forgot, night king doesnt exist in books
If this was the ending ...then the imdb ratings would be like 1. Winterfell - 9.2 2. Knight of seven kingdoms -9.6 3. The long night - 9.9 4. The last of starks - 9.7 5. The bells - 9.9 6. The iron throne - 10
@@sergividal1545 season 8 never made me hate the show.... The first three episodes of season 8 were actually not bad... But the last three were like a sucker punch on the face of the fans
This is really good. Not just better than the real thing, but solid. I enjoyed the hell out of these vids. It's a nice consolation after the cruel letdown delivered by Dan and Dave.
It’s much better than the real thing! D&D should have written their own story/ending, rather than trying to align two stories that couldn’t be merged in the final season.
I totally agree this is so much better even though Danny still dies it's a noble sacrifice to save her newborn child. Way better I wish to hell we got this instead of the horrible ending of what we got
Jon saying “I don’t want it” is the stupidest things ever. He was elected Lord Commander, yes we know based off the facial expressions he gave to Sam that he clearly didn’t want it but he took it nonetheless because he realized people wanted him to lead them and that’s saying a lot. He was chosen to be the King in the North, he gladfully took it again because again people look up to his leadership and he is the only one with the knowledge and strategy to defeat the Night King. Jon is the hero of the story. He is Azor Ahai. Him saying “I don’t want it” x100 is so nonsensical and stupid because he is selfless and it’s a given, it is severely implied that he doesn’t want that burden yet takes it nonetheless because he puts others before himself. He’s the Lord Commander people needed then. He’s the King they needed then. When you think about it, you realize how out of character it is for him to spam the “Don’t want it” button when clearly that is made obvious and he just takes regardless because that is the type of person he is. Heroic, honorable, and 100% selfless. Had his own life taken from him yet that didn’t stop him from fighting for the greater good.
Even though at this version she used face changing once and its not very important . I was shocked thinking that it was real cersi and the one he killed is one of the faceless
Your version of the ending of GoT literally brought tears to my eyes and shivers down my spine on multiple occasions. This should've been how they ended the series!
I fucking cried over this re-write. As a huge fan over the years, this is without a doubt one of the most beautiful GOT ending i ever had the pleasure of listening to. I found it hard to believe that this made me feel all of that since Avengers endgame, but this was more meaningful and satisfying than any tv show or movie even the lotr for that matter. If i was a multi-billionare, i would most definitely provide for the funding for the remake of season 8 for this master piece to be incorporated with the full credit going to the creater and his collabs who manage to formulate this. Thank you
Season 9 - bran wakes up from a vision he warged to to a past Daenny, meaning Daenny sees herself becoming the mad queen, an altered timeline now exists in this universe, establishing the original Season 8 didn't really happen. This is what Bran was doing in the long night, The emphasis on him being out of it the whole time makes sense now - they were foreshadowing Flick Fanatics' season 8 rewrite as Season 9, bringing it into Canon, and a few extra hours covering mythology. Brill job FF and thanks - excellent conclusion.
As muchas the whole "it was all a dream/vision" gets flack (arguably rightfully so, it is really hard to keep from being really unsatisfying) I think it's about the only way to theoretically add this to the real canon short of literally just saying "forget season 8 it's not cannon anymore, here's the real season 8" which isn't how TV works and also hugely disrespects the hundreds of people who put in really great work on season 8. Of course it's all theoretical, there's a 0% chance that HBO, George, or D&D allow anyone anywhere near either option in reality.
Too many years invested in this show and getting such a disrespectful ending... Thank you for taking the time and effort to create this. I'll have this ending in my head until the books come out.
Damn I wish I had the money to finance THIS to be filmed, to replace Season 8. With all the original actors. Please, if you're out there Millionaire Fan...finance this!
I think we'll need a BILLIONAIRE fan, budget for season 8 was $90 million and everybody's rates have gone up, nobody is under contract and no production teams are already in place. It's easily a $150 million project, possibly even double that.
Only issue I had was how Jon killed the Night King by surprising him. WE WANT TO SEE A SWORD FIGHT! After a quick sword fight showing both with a amazing fighting skills have Jon deliverer the final blow. Loved everything else! Amazing job 👏
No fight this version is perfect. At the end of the day Night King is sort of magical being and Jon Snow is human. So in fight night king will always win. (Opposite of this what ruined season 8). So by presenting children and I might add showing Dany's corps to Night King will win Night King's trust and this trickery will get it easier for Arya and Jon to kill Night King with the shoking twist. There may be different ways to do that properly but shock element must be there.
I would love to see Jon fight the Night King, but remember at this point he's just too powerful; as it said in the episode; he's powered up like Thanos once he gets all the infinity stones. It would be completely unrealistic here for Jon to be able to fight him. The place for this duel was in Winterfell.
Yeah, I also wish light bringer wasn’t turned into a dagger after it being shattered. They should’ve just kept the blade intact or made it Valerian steel.
No worries. Not to put this video down, but I would rate Macabre Storytelling's rewrites as the best I've seen, with a detailed analysis of characters and character arcs. His GoT videos are criminally under-viewed. He doesn't make so drastic changes and appears to be seeking something consistent with Martin's storytelling. He doesn't just focus on what happens, but offering the right justifications and motivations while offering ways to express it in the story. He also compares with the books which is interesting for plebs like me that have never read the books.
GST2 S oh, no doubt! I’ve only had time to listen to a couple of his videos, but he seems to be very knowledgeable on game of thrones lore and history as well as having a deep understanding of the different characters themselves. He has definitely done his homework. I think what is the most pleasing to me about these videos is that the prophecies were satisfied. Things that had been hyped up for years and then left with no answers.
I'm so late, but this was beautiful. So beautiful. I got so choked up when Jon activated Light Bringer through Dany's death. And that ending.... just beautiful. Why couldn't it have really been like this?? I would've been crying even a year later. I would've rewatched the season a million times. But instead, one of the most epic series to ever grace our televisions is basically dead to me.... Goddamn D&D. Ps: I've totally learned my lesson though, I'm not even gonna attempt to read those books until GRRM finishes them in their entirety! Fool me once...
Davos is from Kings Landing too (Flea Bottom area). I hope his last death is helping families along the same Street he and his wife raised their children (a short homage into his past).
Finally a proper ending. I haven’t spoken with many people since the ending of my favorite show. It’ truly was my favorite show until the last few episodes. I held out hope that the ending would give me a good chance to say goodbye to the show that has been with me, and helped me through the past 8 years. I was truly bitter for weeks after the finale. I hated admitting that I had been the biggest fan since day one. It was just like a horrible break up, I felt as if I’d been cheated on and lied to for years. I’m glad I stumbled across this video. It truly gave me chills. A proper ending to the Queen who always put her people first. I wish I had never watched the last season of the show, but now since I have seen this “proper ending” I’ll once again love our Queen! Thank you so much for making this ending.
Totally felt the same - I identified with so much Jon went through (am adopted) and loved this show like no other. Held out hope that it would end well only to have the ending it did which soured EVERYTHING for me. This would be the way it should’ve ended - bittersweet.
This is easily one of the greatest rewrites of season 8 ever. Solid, emotionally driven, tying together loose ends and redeeming those so brutally mistreated in the last season. You, sir, are a genius.
My favorite part was you killing off Bran (in the part 1 video). For real though, this is another fantastic rewrite, and I like how you gave well deserved attention to the magical aspects of the plot. I also loved the ending you wrote for Sansa - her serving as regent for Jon and Dany's baby (with Dany proposing the idea) is so cool because it ties Sansa to Ned and gives her some DESERVED responsibility that makes sense with the plot. Well done, and thanks for putting this together! (The artwork is awesome too)
Thank you for doing Jaime Lannister justice. He’s always been one of my favorites and his ending in the show crushed me. It just seemed so.. pointless.
Seven seasons of journey, one season of redemption and then "lol I haven't changed" I hated the end to his arch and always thought he should have killed circi
You got me...you really got me. Here I thought you were going to let Dany live and be happy but a heroic death is still better than what she got on the show. So while my heart has been ripped out of my chest. I can live with this pain.
@Bonnie Cull just stop with your 'hidden in the replies trolling'. You didn't like it, then go away. You've made you're opinion known. You don't need to keep trolling comments with the same statement. It only makes you look dumb as fuck, not the creator of this rewrite. Smh. Stupid.
@@uzairahmed4197 Although his comment is stupid i gotta agree there are some things in the Video that seem weird to me: -Yeah Drogon can go under Water, but not while Dany is riding him, since she'd just drown. -When Jon get's knocked of Rhaegal mid-Air he'd be heavily injured -Jaime wouldn't have let Arya just cut Cersei's face off, and even if so, it would have taken her some time. -How did they rebuild the Wall so quick -What happened to Sam and Ghilly -What happened to the Iron Islands since Yara offered Dany her help in exchange for the independrnce of the Iron Islands -During Jon's and Dany's "Vormir Scene" you say that Sansa and Tyrion are standing in the Distance but when dany says that Sansa should rule after her, she obviously hears her, meaning she and Tyrion are suddenly right next to them. -The Lightbringer Sword took 1 Year to forge. So Gendry finishing it and killing Dany isn't really a flashback - There can only be one Prince(ss) that was promised -Wouldn't Drogon kill Jon after he killed Dany? That didn't make Sense to me. If there are reasons for this let me know :)
1. Drogon- acted independently on Dani's command? 2.Hopefully Jon didn't bail till the last second 3. that could be worked around with some thought 4. Good question (not gonna study it for time jump answers) 5. Didn't they say something about the Tarley's getting Highgarden? 6. It did say Yara was named Warden or Protector of the Iron Islands, or some such 7. distance problem easily fixed 8. Again, good question, also see again, timeline jumps mentioned earlier 9. Prince would be Jon I think (debatable) 10. he was smart enough in show to figure out what really killed Dani, and in books they are smart too
@@krisp5735 He mentioned that Dany is on drogon. "Now we get a montage of Dany burning down the Iron fleet" He mentioned that they got highgarden, Sam went back to the Wall, but never what happened to Ghilly He says that Dany could kill Jon or Jon could kill Dany with the Lightbringer Sword, What wouldn't be possible since only the Prince that was promised can use it and there is only 1 Prince t.w.p . Arya taking Cersei's face just makes no sense. Jaime after killing her just wouldn't let Arya cut her Face off. No way. I mean he still really loved her.
OMG I just commented something similar just now! Knowing this is the ending, I can happily rewatch the first 7 seasons. This redeemed the whole series for me!
Yes!!!! Dany’s death was always supposed to be sacrificial and self less. That’s the only way she could truly break the wheel and end the Targaryen way of old. Loved part one and part 2. Night King was the true villain all along, and the Seven kingdoms united at the end sounds amazing.
not to mention it made it a lot harder to kill the Night King what they did was beyond ridiculous of how the night king died. This was far better though sad with Bran's death Dany's death but.... very well done. This is how I'll see how this show ended how it should've ended
But I think GRRM has always meant Dany to be the villain. The White Walkers or Night King is a red herring cause he is the typical monster to be defeated while not realising that the true villain is in our midst.
@@johnnyskinwalker4095 she is. It'll be the scouring of the shire which is one of George's most favorite part of the lotr. He's said that ice and fire refers to the threat north of the wall and the threat of fire from dany and her dragons. People are just delusional about the progression of her arc.
As soon as you showed the clip of Sandor on the ground, beaten and dying, similar to how he was after his fall, knowing Arya was in the vicinity I just *knew* you were going to have her grant him his wish and "kill him" as a mercy this time. It's appropriately poetic. Definitely shows the thought you put in.
I honestly loved how in this ending the armies in kings landing both realized that the safety of the people was a top priority. Both sides realizing what needed to be done, laying down their weapons as the fight for survival from the wildfire and mad queen became the reality. Also Jamie killing the queen as she was attempting to do the same thing the mad king threatened made you realize that he saw what was coming and knew he would have to fight within himself as he felt he already lost a part of cersi. Love this ending thank you 😢
never crossed my mind before but I absolutely love Jamie as the official/unofficial 1000th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch (Ed was the "unofficial" 999th)
I don't care I accept this rewrite as how Game of Thrones ended!!!! THIS IS HOW GAME OF THRONES ENDED!!!!! Loved it 10/10 giving the character's a proper conclusion to their story lines
They didnt forget. They didnt give a shit. Or perhaps you're right, they forgot about the Night King's threat for the same reason Dany forgot about Euron and his fleet.
@@flickfanatics7948 lol I love the idea of jamie becoming lord commander, but I dont like the idea of Danny giving it to him since the nightswatch is more of a democracy and vote their lord commander.
@@WZOO1224 True, but there is no Night's Watch at this point. The whole thing is being rebuilt, so I would say her giving it to him is fitting. It is stability at the top to rebuild. Though there could be an added sentence about it lasting for 3-5 years and then a democratic vote to decide if he or another should be LC.
Aside from Bronn’s fate, I definitely think that this is the best season 8 rewrite that I have ever seen. I especially love what was done with The Night King. I’ve seen alternate takes like making him Bran or the Mad King, but your take was just perfect. Well done. This was incredible.
Tbh, Bronn's death actually fits. Literally, this is Game of Thrones. Even the most popular characters don't have plot armor. Also, a callback to this is when Tyrion asks him if he is willing to kill anyone and Bronn responds that if he was paid then yes. Considering how Bronn is still loyal to the Lannisters, Tyrion would be aware of this and Cersei would obviously win him over. Also, Tyrion killing him is a perfect sendoff with him saying: "I would have paid you double", with Bronn smiling. This symbolism is perfect because he knows that Tyrion is telling the truth and would have paid him more than Cersei. After all, Cersei is the only Lannister who "doesn't pay her debt" and even when she does, it isn't generous or satisfactory. Because the only person Cersei cares for is herself. Even Bronn would know this even at his death.
Oh man, this is much more better than the real version. This is both heart breaking, with a lot of our beloved characters dying, but it is also so much satisfying. That was such a great job that you just did by writing that piece of work. I mean if that was adapted for the real show after a little bit work-up here and there, it would definitely have had a more positive reaction from the audience. It's quite great to see someone who hasn't even read the books write a story better than those who have actually written the screenplay for the show. This is *the* ending for me of Game Of Thrones in my mind
I've seen a lot of videos about ( rewriting season 8 ) BUT oh my god this video & part 1 is very GOOD !!! this is how should it all end, very beautiful & amazing hands down BEST rewrite I've ever heard Flick Fanatics I Name You The Writer Of Game Of Thrones.
I just finished Game of Thrones about a month ago for the first time. I was as disappointed as everyone else and have been going down a spiraling rabbit hole of podcasts and videos talking about potential rewrites of Season 8. This is by far the best and is fulfilling to the story. Also the effort you put into this is spectacular. Thank you for taking the bad taste out of my mouth.
Yeah legit just saved these 2 parts into my favorites so that I can rewatch the series and just supplant the last season with a nice viewing of your version. I honestly thought I'd never watch it again. Thank you and your team for your wonderful efforts and for reviving a dead series to me.
this rewrite was truly amazing, fixed almost every single issue i had with the final season. absolutely no character assassinations & a very bittersweet yet satisfying conclusion to a series that had so much potential to be great in the end.
Oh thank goodness. I can rewatch the series now and just skip the real season 8 and watch these videos again instead. You have brought Game of Thrones back into my life. Thank you.
Give this guy the money to write the spin offs he knows this better than D&D it's ridiculous how TH-cam channels have better storytelling than actual "professional writers."
If enough fans pooled together we could definitely help with that but trouble is doesn't HBO own the entire rights to GOT. So no one apart from them can do a rewrite or something legal along those lines. Which of course sucks majorly
That's coz D&D aren't actual writers. They have a writing team but they probably vetoed all of the writing team's suggestions to get their own "cool" shots in.
That brought me to tears man. It’s been said but this will be my canon until the books are finished. This would’ve been so satisfying to those very much invested in the HBO canon. Thank you. Now on to re-watching Part 1 and 2 to ingrain it in my memory. Lol Side note: The warging could work much like how the Bloodraven did with Bran when they were both still alive because technically all the Stark children had the potential (warging in dreams, etc.).
Best one yet imo. People like Davos and Jaime have their arcs completed nicely, but one last thing, you didn’t include a scene or Tyrion interacting with Jaime after he killed Cersei. I think it would have been a conversation but it would still be Tyrion acknowledging that Jaime has just lost his everything at his own hands for the lives of others, which is also a good arc thing because he is so selfish and arrogant in season 1 and here he killed his everything to save the lives of innocents and soldiers who were bound to die but could be saved by Cersei’s death
Dude that was amazing, I could hear the characters voices and everything. I even cried at the Danny death part. Wow this would have been an amazing season 8
This was incredible. I am actually excited about game of thrones again and the acrid taste in my mouth from season 8 isn't so bitter anymore. I am going to visualize this as the actual ending of Game of thrones. Bravo.
Brilliant reworking. Very satisfying. Massive kudos for using Westworld, ‘Dr Ford’ song. Ramin is a genius for evoking emotion through music that perfectly matches film.
This has brought me an unbelievable amount of closure. I was smiling and laughing because I was just so happy the story was fixed. This is now how I will remember the show ending
I absolutely never comment on TH-cam videos, ever. This was absolutely amazing and the ending we all deserved. I even teared up as you read the last bit of Dani and Jon. Well done and thank you for taking the time for such a thought out, meaningful, bittersweet ending. Unlike D&D.... Bravo!
The Davos and Jaime arcs are masterful. As both a book and show lover there is no way this would ever happen in the books, but I seriously cannot imagine any other way the show could end after hearing this. Simply excellent.
Jamie going from oathbreaker to oathkeeper... that redemption brought tears to my eyes. Your idea fleshed out the Night King much more, too, and made Bran more useful. I loved Sansa being the one to raise Danny's daughter to be Queen. So satisfying. This was an incredible rewrite and soothed my soul and some of my hate for D&D. Kudos!!!!!!!
From this day until my last, this will be the ending we all deserved. The poetic justice, the truth to the character arcs, and the beauty of feeling finished. Well done.
This was epic. But! I'd have Daenerys open her eyes in the flames as the Night King dies. The final victory of Light against Death. Imagine how much more epic then it could be.
That would be incredible - striking her down made her more powerful than he could possibly imagine (even though he didn't kill her) and she lives on as something much greater than just her physical body.
@@muppetallica Nice, I got those vibes from the original post too! Even though it might lessen the impact of her "death" I'd still prefer this version.
Really great videos👍🏻. I was infinitely more hooked by your last 4 episodes version than D&D’s one. The action is coherent, characters’ decisions make a lot of sense comparing to the mess of the original script where Tyrion becomes a fool, Jon doesn’t want anything, Dany suddenly becomes a pyromaniac, Golden company is a joke that lasts 10 seconds, Drogon is kinda unable to target Jon from 5 meters (according to the released script), Sansa keeps a secret for 5 minutes straight and Bran is totally useless during the Long Night. Your rewrite fixes all this nonsense and brings the season to the standards of GoT. Characters’ arcs are also brilliantly closed. Kudos to you and people who helped you.
This was absolutely amazing. I almost feel happy now thinking this is the real ending. I am going to choose this as the actual ending. This show was so amazing, a long journey and this ending makes it complete.
Bro, that was actually insane man. I hope this gets recognition from the right people and maybe...just maybe someone might finance this. Ya never know what could happen with how unpredictable this world has become. Amazing work bro!!
The sound seems to cut off around 14 minutes.

Heck most of the battles in ASOIAF were either sieges or ambushes. :
Whispering Wood Ambush
Green Fork: feint
Black Water: siege
Battle of the Camps: Ambush
1st & 2nd Siege of River Run:siege

Just now found this re-write a year later and it’s just... perfection. Well done. All the characters stay true to themselves and their respective arcs to the very end
Thank you so much!
Ditto 🙂👍
Jamie's arc ended brilliantly because in the first episode he also took the piss out of Jon for joining the nights watch. Shows how much he changed
Yep! I'm glad you noticed it, that's one of the reasons I gave him that conversation with Jon in episode 4 as it's the first time they've have a proper talk since then and shows how far hes come.
Then Jon would say to Jaime, "I'm sure it'll be thrilling to serve in such an elite force."
Thank you so much for appreciating it!
Ngl, I think the mad queen could've worked. She was always a bit bonkers anyway, but I agree that they needed more than six episodes to do it and so they should've just kept her good
But what about house stark ? Without a male heir the house will go extinct.
train wreck is the correct phrase to describe what happened. This is a beautiful version. He used the word cathartic several times in this video, and that is what I felt as I listened to every story arc being completed.
Lmao when has dany ever sacrificed herself for the greater good
When Arya approaches an injured hound, he says " am I the last one on your list then girl". A tear rolls down her face as she stabs him and puts him out of his misery.
I would have had her mention the mountain's headless corpse. Kind of one last quip. But yeah.
I would have her say "I took you off it" as a tear rolls down her face and then she puts him out of his misery.

Mike Warren it’s Not HBOs fault more like the Directors
Every single problem I had with the real ending was answered...I haven’t touched a single second of GoT content since that finale and my goodness this gave me chills like the old days...amazing
Hbo was willing to give the writers 2 more seasons if needed they just wanted to do starwhores instead
SAME
This. This is now canon until George R Martin can complete the series properly.
Winter is coming for GRRM. His final act on this side of the veil will be to declare this version canon.
His intention was basically this. He at least now knows this was a complete utter dumpster fire, I don't believe everyone was expecting a happy ever after, we basically got that with all the main characters getting the shaft.
Canon in your own delusional brain. GRRM's will end the same way

It’s much better than the real thing! D&D should have written their own story/ending, rather than trying to align two stories that couldn’t be merged in the final season.

I'm glad that you including Arya using face changing. D&D just sort of forgot about that.
Even though at this version she used face changing once and its not very important . I was shocked thinking that it was real cersi and the one he killed is one of the faceless
D&D = Dumb and dumber
Whoever this person is, deserves to be hired by HBO right away.!
Your version of the ending of GoT literally brought tears to my eyes and shivers down my spine on multiple occasions. This should've been how they ended the series!
Thank you so much!
Thank you
I teared up when he said Drogon had a purpose someone to protect little Dany. I lost it.
Watched too much twilight?😂
@@MrJhchrist Or maybe just a multi-millionaire fan

Just get Mike Bloomberg. I’m sure he’ll give whatever money just so long as you can write in his becoming the king
Only issue I had was how Jon killed the Night King by surprising him. WE WANT TO SEE A SWORD FIGHT! After a quick sword fight showing both with a amazing fighting skills have Jon deliverer the final blow. Loved everything else! Amazing job 👏
Yes! A gritty sword fight with a dark and nail biting soundtrack and Jon’s child crying in the background to add to the horror of the situation.
+1
And to think, Bloomberg could've put his $500 million towards this.
F*ckin PREACH 🥴😆💸 LMAOOOO
I'm going to pretend in my mind that THIS is how GOT ended. BEST. REWRITE. EVER.
Also check out the rewrite that "Macabre Storytelling" is doing, character by character. It's excellent too.
GST2 S thanks for this I’ll look for it. I’m totally into fan fiction at the moment
GST2 S I was reading through the comments trying to find more content and stumbled across your comment. Thank you for this!

It was soo good!
Matt Aamold Preston Jacobs also did his, tho Euron was more op in his, and this ending just feels more thrones, than prestons

The Northmen saving the common people alongside the Lannister soldiers is the best part.
"This is not a battle, this is a rescue operation"
My favorite part was you killing off Bran (in the part 1 video). For real though, this is another fantastic rewrite, and I like how you gave well deserved attention to the magical aspects of the plot. I also loved the ending you wrote for Sansa - her serving as regent for Jon and Dany's baby (with Dany proposing the idea) is so cool because it ties Sansa to Ned and gives her some DESERVED responsibility that makes sense with the plot. Well done, and thanks for putting this together! (The artwork is awesome too)

-Yeah Drogon can go under Water, but not while Dany is riding him, since she'd just drown.
-When Jon get's knocked of Rhaegal mid-Air he'd be heavily injured
-Jaime wouldn't have let Arya just cut Cersei's face off, and even if so, it would have taken her some time.
-How did they rebuild the Wall so quick
-What happened to Sam and Ghilly
-What happened to the Iron Islands since Yara offered Dany her help in exchange for the independrnce of the Iron Islands
-During Jon's and Dany's "Vormir Scene" you say that Sansa and Tyrion are standing in the Distance but when dany says that Sansa should rule after her, she obviously hears her, meaning she and Tyrion are suddenly right next to them.
-The Lightbringer Sword took 1 Year to forge. So Gendry finishing it and killing Dany isn't really a flashback
- There can only be one Prince(ss) that was promised
-Wouldn't Drogon kill Jon after he killed Dany?
"Now we get a montage of Dany burning down the Iron fleet"
He mentioned that they got highgarden, Sam went back to the Wall, but never what happened to Ghilly
He says that Dany could kill Jon or Jon could kill Dany with the Lightbringer Sword, What wouldn't be possible since only the Prince that was promised can use it and there is only 1 Prince t.w.p .
Arya taking Cersei's face just makes no sense. Jaime after killing her just wouldn't let Arya cut her Face off. No way. I mean he still really loved her.

The Show: me; Angry!
This Re-write: me; teary-eyed and satisfied with the actual ending that I now know to be the real end to Game of Thrones!
But a queen or a king can not name a lord commander, only the brothers of the night's watch can elect him
Also, although I like the idea on principle, why would they bother to man the wall if the White Walkers were gone for good?

When I re-watch GOT, I will watch seasons 1-7 and end with this video for my finale. Great work!

Ageed 👍!!!
Lol
Side note: The warging could work much like how the Bloodraven did with Bran when they were both still alive because technically all the Stark children had the potential (warging in dreams, etc.).
Thanks so much for enjoying it!
Why did I only watch this now?!!! This is pure brilliance! I didn't even notice I was in tears by the end of your narration of episode 5. Great job!!!
Thank you so much!
CamoB2002 he lost his honour, that he valued highly, killing Aerys, and he lost his unborn baby and first love by his own blade😭😭😭😭
I almost teared up when you let Davos die - without even seeing the scene. That's good story telling!
Amazing!!! We need this as a fully animated version that should be then made the official version to true fans.
OMG!!!! Amazingly edited bruh. So much more better. Its crazy how many more people have edited the season waaaaaaay better than the David and Dan.
Thank you, I didn’t realize how much that ending was bothering me.
This was really entertaining.
Very cleverly written! Jaime being lord commander of the night's watch was one of my favorite parts!
Let's put together funding and remake the final show ......I'm sure we can get the actors on board ... ..
Bravo.
I wish this is how it ended for real! This was 10x better than the actual ending. Nice work and thank you!
Brilliant reworking. Very satisfying. Massive kudos for using Westworld, ‘Dr Ford’ song. Ramin is a genius for evoking emotion through music that perfectly matches film.
Thanks! Ramin is truly one of the best composers working today.
You imagined an absolute masterpiece of a Season 8. I'm stunned at how good it is. I'd have payed so much to see this as the official ending
I love the rewrite, was really dissapointed they dropped the ball on the final season. Felt rushed and lazy.
14:13-14:27 has a small break in The Audio/Narration so you know. Otherwise a Brilliant Story, The Ending that This Saga Deserved.
Bravo!
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words, it really means a lot :)
The Davos and Jaime arcs are masterful. As both a book and show lover there is no way this would ever happen in the books, but I seriously cannot imagine any other way the show could end after hearing this. Simply excellent.
This was the exact outcome of the show we wanted! I got goosebumps at the wall part 13:05 incredible stuff man👍
I am going to just believe this is how it actually ended, the other version, the “real” version just makes me sick...
"sick" doesn't even begin to describe the feeling I get from the actual ending
Red Recon You Said it
I seriously love this, but you missed out on Ghost 🥺 I would of loved to see what you did with Ghost and Nymeria!
I’ve seen many rewrites, but this might be the best of them all.
Thank you so much!
I would have loved this version of the final season. Thank you for doing this.
This would make me very happy
That would be incredible - striking her down made her more powerful than he could possibly imagine (even though he didn't kill her) and she lives on as something much greater than just her physical body.
@@rosesongoku6980 I got such Obi-Wan Kenobi vibes from that
@@muppetallica Nice, I got those vibes from the original post too! Even though it might lessen the impact of her "death" I'd still prefer this version.
Or she rises as an actual dragon (a dream she has in the books.)
Agreed, this is my ending for GoT. Brilliant work
I would have rather watched this.
All great I just believe the night king s death and the main ending could be different but this is better than the original especially dany s story
Thank you!
Bro, that was actually insane man. I hope this gets recognition from the right people and maybe...just maybe someone might finance this. Ya never know what could happen with how unpredictable this world has become. Amazing work bro!!
Thank you!
Jesus that Davos death is so obviously perfect why couldn't those hacks see this
Petition for Flick Fanatics to write
“House Of The Dragons”
14:15 the audio cuts out and I feel like that part is really important
She’s probably explaining the prince or princess that was promised prophecy and how it’s the only way to save their child
This was lovely! And I love how you get to essentially the same result, but with a much more satisfying journey.
