    Thank you. Your technique makes painting fur seem so much less intimidating as I venture into a pet portrait of my daughter's wonderful kitty named Celo.

    Thank you so much! I am moving to concentrate on drawings, painting of cats and birds. How clever to apply the blacks, blues, grays, over the rusty tones as black cats naturally have these overtones -very easily seen and natural sunlight.

    This video was very helpful. I'm painting animals with fur in my art class and my teacher suggested to search for tutorials and videos on painting fur as I never have before. This has really helped educate me on the techiques used.

    Like the build up of the fur to make it multi-dimensional. Didn't know it was done wet into wet, so always had problems working over the top.

    • @IncarniUnknown
      @IncarniUnknown 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know I am not the person you asked but maybe I can help. For a reddish-brown fur a good base colour is a light brown. You then paint over it with darker brown and add the reddish tones in the end.

    Is Acrylic paints you are working with? Also, what weight is that paper? I have a bunch of nice college grade acrylic paints that I want to start working with, and I have a nice big easel like yours...but I HATE canvas and want to work on board like you do....but I don't want my paper to warp/wrinkle.Thank you. : )

    • @IncarniUnknown
      @IncarniUnknown 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      For acrylic paint you can use the paper that can be found in every professional sketchbook. It is a bit thicker than normal paper. You could also buy paper for aquarell paint. If you don't want your paper to wrinkle and go all wavy tape it on a flat surface.

      +Denise Shaw It's something called an Extender. It can keep your acrylic paint moist for a very long time. You can also blend in colours and stuff :D

    • @innerabundancechanel
      @innerabundancechanel 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They never draw love its all traced. have you seen a vid where they actually show themselves drawing ? And i hope that she is not painting acrylics with water because within the time the water disrupts the acrylic paint chemical composition and makes it stale with the years, making the painting yellowish and sometimes the canvas cracks... lots of people use water instead of airbrush or gel medium. but yeah hundreds of vids they dont show the drawing because most of them trace. Actually the two cats she is showing are exactly the same do you think it would be drawn ?...

    what is a wet on wet? is it when you put water on the canvas or canvas board or paper and then paint with the acrylics?

    • @Melzords
      @Melzords 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elinos Tiger No, wet on wet with acrylics is when you blend paint into wet paint that is already applied to the canvas :) So where the lady added the dark paint and then straight after added the light blues before the darks dried.
