"Technology has gone too far!" Those words were first spoken by the caveman Mog, when his cousin Grog proudly showed off his new spear equipped with the newest gadget - a stone, chipped to a razor sharp point affixed by another amazing invention, a cord. Mog clutched his wooden spear with its fire hardened point, which he affectionately called the OB-BC, and grumbled how a real caveman would never cheat by putting a rock at the end of his spear. "It's too easy. He will decimate the herd. And besides, it looks stupid." I am really excited with my new Oracle X. It is working wonderfully so far. Looking forward to testing it out from elevation. Thanks for all the review and tutorial, Rich.
Wow 2010 has it been that long, crazy how far the crossbow adventure has come , I still flip back to the old Bunjie videos , use to be my daily watch and I learn a lot about crossbow hunting watching your videos. It’s very cool to have a Real everyday person that actually knows PA . Thank you very much , have a great new year
To complicated looking for my old self. When you pulled out the remote control looking device I was out. Have hunted with compound until I injured my shoulder and health deteriorated and always turned my nose up to the crossbows but after watching your show I decided to try one. Really enjoy hunting with the crossbow now.
@Luke Dog. I'm definitely an old dog and not tech savvy at all. It's really a pretty easy setup once you read the short manuel and understand that you simply need to be in the right menu. It's really fairly easy.
I have an Oracle X on both of my TenPoint crossbows. Harvested six deer with them this past season. I really think you'd like yours even better if you got a better cheek to stock comb contact. Should be easy to build up the comb on your stock. There is likely a kt out there, but you could use tubular conduit foam and camo duct tape. I really like the ability to just track, range, and shoot without all kinds of other motion using a hand held rangefinder.
I’m so glad DBB did this video. I really appreciate your reviews because I believe you to be one of the most unbiased and realistic channels. The timing is perfect too because I’m seriously shopping for one and you answered all my questions. Cheers!

Trijicon acog crossbow scope is another option as well, great video, great new scope, told me a lot I did not know, looking forward to more of your review of the new scope, and look out woodchucks.
I’ve looked at this scope in the past but the price is a little hefty. I then turned my attention to an Omega II which is very similar to this scope only it also records. This year Omega came out with the Omega III which runs $500. I’m keeping an eye out to see if i can find it on sale.
Watch out for Omega. They touted the omega. What they never told you is it didn't work in low light. I missed a shot at a beautiful 8 PT. Because I only saw a blue screen. When I complained I was pretty much told tough crap. But we have a new model. What kind of scope company would sell a product you can't use during the best deer movement times?
@@franrodden2184 thanks for the info. I have since then decided to not get the Omega. I’ve seen enough videos of people having issues with the Omega holding zero after being shot.
Anything to help the hunter out to make a quick kill should be a plus. We are aways looking for something a lot better to get the job done. It's called moving forward. Great video. Thanks
Hey Rich... I’m glad you are sharing your new scope experience with us! I thinking I need to rat hole some money for a Burris. That’s a super nice wood chuck.
Sighted in my Burris Oracle X Crossbow Scope on my Tenpoint Stealth NXT today. 410 FPS 150 Gr evo x. I sighted it in at 20 yards to hit a dime that took about 6 shots. I hit the dime three times in a row. Then I followed your directions and went to truing and set number one at 31 yards! First and second shot hit one inch bullseye perfect no adjustment needed. Went to 2 at 41 yards same deal two shots perfect bullseye no adjustment needed and then went to 56 yards. PERFECT bullseye first and second shot the size of a quarter. For others sighting in this scope do your very best to fine tune at 20 yards to hit a dime consistently and I think you''ll be close to dead on from there when you go to truing. I didn't have to make one change on the scope after sighting in at 20 yards. This is very hard to believe but it is the truth, and I can't hardly believe it myself. What a game changer this scope will be. Less deer or animals lost and more humane kills by better shot placement. Buy one you won't be sorry. Thank You for your directions on Truing.
I agree it's very important to get it perfect at 20. My first experience with this scope was totally different with the second time that I reset it and trued it. The second time it was very much like what you described!
The one thing that I'm assuming that I won't have to do with this over the old-fashioned ones is that I won't have to risk over/under-torquing the scope rings nor will I have to level the reticles .
Great looking scope. I thought about, however it is out of my price zone. However I have the ATN X-SIGHT 4K 5x20x. It doesn’t have built in range finder, but I have the ABL 1000 for it and I can range find with it and it goes to my scope by bluetooth. It also has built in recording, audio and video is great on it. Look forward to hearing more about it.
That scope looks amazing I'll have to see if it's legal here in wyoming I really like your videos so much you no how to make happiness in someone's life god bless you and your daughter
Good video on the Oracle X! Lots of other videos on it, but you talk through the benefits of it better than anyone. Gotta rib you on one thing though.... You said the reticle changes with zoom on your old Twilight DLX. No, it doesn't. That's what makes it a speed ring scope. Reticle stays the same throughout the zoom range, but target size itself changes size in relation to the reticle. (second focal plane scope is the technical term for this type). That's how and why they work for different trajectories. Look through your DLX while changing the zoom.... You'll see that the reticle stays the same, and the target changes size. Eye relief might change some too as you turn the zoom up.
Yep, you are correct! That's another reaon I liked the DLX, though--only 60 yard reticles, so easier to tell them apart. The newer scopes with 100 yard reticles, holy cow I can't tell the difference at those further yardages.
Looks good Rich! And it certainly fits the new Bungie. It does appear to have added more weight and you're still getting used to the balance. Adding your TACTACAM is going to be a challenge too. You might consider getting a newer stronger BOG POD with a Deathgrip head. Just a thought. Best of luck this FALL with your new rig.
That is a Bog Deathgrip tripod lol, doesn't play nice with the Scorpyd due to shape if the foregrip but still works well. Yeah, we'll figure out something with the Tactacam. Thanks, Ron!
Very nice scope i just put it on my R500 which there is no videos of it being on a R500 but i have seen it on the 505 nitro by ten point so i think i my post my video of the R500
Dandy scope and I wish you the best with it. But, for those of us that have a tough time spending that kind of money on the crossbow itself will have a hard time purchasing this scope.
I totally understand that, but remember I also have one of those expensive scopes on a crossbow that cost $500 13 years ago, the Original Bunjie! I do think they will come down in price and eventually I think everybody will be looking at these. Time will tell!
My cousin has one of these and we’ve both shot his and my crossbow a lot with it. A few things we’ve found: use every data/zero point it will let you input, otherwise it’ll throw the occasional shot to who knows where. It has problems at close range, as it does not or cannot compensate for the optic height above the rail (this cost my cousin a turkey this season). And it does not factor wind, so do LOTS of practice in crosswinds so you have a good feel for how much hold off you will need to use. My cousin uses it on his mission 500fps crossbow, and we tried it on my OG bungie knockoff, which throws my 650gr bolts at 270 FPS. It did great on both, however at longer ranges I had to dial back the magnification more than he had to so it could plot the elevation correction in the reticule. No big deal really. I maxed it out on its lowest magnification at 130 yards, and my cousin with his much faster crossbow maxed it out at 250 yards. We tried shooting a target at 200 just to see if it was plotting correctly, and to our surprise it was bang on elevation wise, however the wind drift made a shot like that hopeless. We missed left and right and never got closer than a foot off the edge of the target.
Wow that's a neat experience and 100% I understand what you're saying about having to zoom out--that elevation would be killer at that distance with my old Bunjie LOL
I'm still on original batteries. I have backups for both the scope and remote batteries ready to go though LOL. Keep watching, I'll have more tips as I use it.
I love it! www.deathbybunjie.com/gear/2021/3/21/ive-always-wanted-a-bulldog?rq=bulldog I can say it's pretty easy, overall, to pull arrows from. Genevieve lays it on its back and pulls straight up, but I don't have much issue pulling them out at all.
Nice video, and nice scope. I'm thinking about buying one for the crossbow I am currently shopping for. Couple quick questions... Have you tried it in wet/rain conditions? If so... How does it perform? Does it fog up at all? Have you tried it in cold weather? How did it perform? Small batteries, and cold weather, don't always play well together.
I haven't figured that out either. I am not using it on that crossbow this year. I mounted it on a clamp and I'll hang it off to the side and use it by remote this year I guess...
I'm torn, I have the money, but I don't know what to buy. I've wanted an orcale-x since I got my siege 410 last year. I recently seen the omega iii scope as well and I liked the price point. Since you have experience with both, what is your honest opinion on both, and which one would you buy?
I haven't used the Omega, sorry about that. I do like the burris. I am not very interested in recording through the scope though. If that's something you want to do then that's a good scope for that purpose for sure.
@@Deathbybunjie I started watching a bunch of videos of all the scopes yesterday and couldn't remember who had used what haha. That Burris is just too pretty, I'm sure I'll end up with the oracle-x. I appreciate your response 💪
I got my Excalibur from a pawn shop for 70$ cause it had a ruined string that looked awful. I went to cabelas and bought 4 strings on clearance for 5$ each and it’s perfect. Can’t believe the pawnshop didn’t realize it was a 1000$ xbow new. You can’t break those recurve Excaliburs. The older ones anyway. They are heavy built!
I installed a 1/4" thick cheek pad (1/4" at the top and 1/8" at the bottom) from GodA Grip on Ebay to my Excalibur Micro 335. Normally made for rifles but works great on crossbows as well. Cheek weld is perfect now and feels so good too.
Ahhh, that's a good question. So far so good for me but I'm told to have a bunch on hand...LOL... so I have a six pack of them, only $12 on Amazon, pretty cool...I'll follow up as I learn more

Saved my bacon with a turkey this season. He came in to my decoys, decided he didn't like them and I didn't have a shot. He took off and I got a window at 32 yards. I dropped him right before he went onto some private
Been using it since last year. taken 1 bear and 4 deer with it so far. won't use anything else. Garmin has a 1 year warranty and also has no static 20 yard "pin" . Burris has a lifetime warranty and a static 20 yard pin.

That's awesome
No cheek weld? Is there anyway you can get a lower mount or add a cheek riser?
I could but I think it's good...eye relief so far so good
I installed a 1/4" thick cheek pad (1/4" at the top and 1/8" at the bottom) from GodA Grip on Ebay to my Excalibur Micro 335. Normally made for rifles but works great on crossbows as well. Cheek weld is perfect now and feels so good too.
When you said laser range finding and the scope is the crossbows "head" it just made me think of sharks with LASA BEAMS on their frickin heads
😅
Hi Rich! I would like to get one sometime. Do you know how long the battery will last?
Ahhh, that's a good question. So far so good for me but I'm told to have a bunch on hand...LOL... so I have a six pack of them, only $12 on Amazon, pretty cool...I'll follow up as I learn more
What tripod are you using with your crossbow?
www.deathbybunjie.com/gear/2020/9/15/caldwell-deadshot-field-pod-the-key-to-accurately-sighting-in-your-crossbow
That one's great for the Scorpyd and for use in the field...I also like the Bog Deathgrip Fieldpod for targets
Just taking advantage of a season. Annnnnd it's fun.
I like my recurve bows. I like my crossbow.
Probably would not like hunting with a rock.
What is name of the scope? Will it work on Barnett 405
Burris Otacle X and I bet yes!
It is legal in PA because it doesn't emit a visible light. Can you record with it?
No this one doesn't record, and it's gonna be tough to fit a tactacam on there now LOL but i'll see what i can do, that's the next challenge
great scope I would have put it on bunjie. ALL HAIL BUNJIE!!!
I have an oricle x scope also did u have any problems with putting batteries in it my battery cap is difficult to put on without cross threading it.
That cap is a little bit of a pain for my big hands...handed it off to Genevieve who had no issues lol. I will try this on Bunjie too, should be fun.
@@Deathbybunjie that' great should b a great video. all hail bunjie
Probably be no problem attaching Bunjie cam still?
Ahhhh, a good question...it does seem to eat up the whole rail but I'll figure something out...stay tuned!
Oh my god! You got the Oracle! It’s now like your flying a fighter jet when making a shot!
Congratulations! Bunnies has come a long way!
I think you can perform a valuable service by defending your family from rabid woodchucks!
😃👍
Bunjie not Bunie
easy use
I've been dying to add 30.8oz. to my crossbow ever since I bought it. And at $899, TAKE MY MONEY!
😆
Definitely don't want a scope that costs more than my crossbow lmao 😂
Centerpoint sniper 370 just have to have HAWK SCOPE ... & RANGE FINDER !
Nothing wrong with that combo! Good luck!
I have it on my r500..second to none!
Man I bet that's a killer setup, cool!
@@Deathbybunjie you literally just made me go outside and shoot mine. I just received some 300 grain field points in the mail today. I wanted to try them because I purchased the Big game 3 Broadheads. It’s a fixed blade 300 grain 2.7 inch cut! Check it out here on TH-cam. It’s called Big Game 3. They are huge and very sharp! You are the reason I bought the swacker 3 inch cut! Thanks for the great videos! I have been in Archerhy hunting for over 20 years but 3 years ago I purchased a center point dagger 370. I have not picked up my Mathew’s Wake bow since!😂 I only hunt on the ground with a crafted leafy ghillie suit. It’s the ultimate adrenaline rush! Hopefully this upgrade to this Raven R500 will do the job! 😂 Greetings from Atlanta Ga!
The channel is called Dead X Bowhunting!
@@KenKen2023smith will check out thanks!
Great day death by bungie video nice scope
You set the sc
ope on 30 and 40 yards and the deer come betw
een 33 yards can you still kill the dee
You should make some woodchuck burritos!
FLORIDA IS LEGAL NOW (68A-12-002 ) Allows bows equipped with electronic computational (rangefinders) sights etc. Made legal in 2018. I have a Burris Optics Oracle X Rangefinder on my Tenpoint STEALTH with Swacker 3 Inch 150 gr Broadheads.
Great to hear, that's a great sounding rig, good luck!
Cara essa crossbow é muito top irmao
You should hunt with a medieval crossbow with 1200 pound draw weight and no sight.
No thanks lol
Cool technology
How difficult is it to install a new scope
This one pretty easy, isn't round so no issues with getting vertical correct. But it's pretty easy even with regular ones.
I did a few videos on it, one last year and a 4 part series years ago
Thanks
Nice thumbnail
Can you fit a sausage maker on there too?
Maybe someday lol
Glad you have a sense of humor. All this do dadism bugs me somewhat.
👍😃✌️🇺🇸 Nice job on the whistle pig!
$899.00 OUCH !! I think ill stick with the regular scope.
The price will come down over time, at least I hope so
For $1000 it should record your hunt as well.
Taxidermist how far from cooks forest?
Looks like about 3 1/2 hours, that looks like a really good place to hunt though!
@@Deathbybunjie it is! Camp there and Clearfield.
900.00 dollars ouch expensive holy moly maybe santa claus will get me one definitely what I dream of having
Yeah it's definitely my big purchase for the year, that's for sure LOL
Saved my bacon with a turkey this season. He came in to my decoys, decided he didn't like them and I didn't have a shot. He took off and I got a window at 32 yards. I dropped him right before he went onto some private
Neat...and you knew exactly 32 yards, that's cool
@@Deathbybunjie yep. That scope proved its worth on that day
Been using it since last year. taken 1 bear and 4 deer with it so far. won't use anything else. Garmin has a 1 year warranty and also has no static 20 yard "pin" . Burris has a lifetime warranty and a static 20 yard pin.
That's awesome congrats on the bear, too
@@Deathbybunjie thanks man . Hope you have a great season. Also pro tip lol use good zip ties for the remote . Thank me later
Doesn't look like you can get a good cheek weld. Mount just sits too high compared to a scope.
Agreed, but problem solved: th-cam.com/video/JAbNbs3xVi0/w-d-xo.html
Bunjie when’s the annual hog hunt
Stay tuned, if I have another one we will see right here
let's get some more taxidermy videos. perhaps you should start her own channel taxidermy by Bungie
definitely more coming on that, thanks for your interest!
Yes it is! Dont even have to watch the video lol! 🤣
😁😆😅
Very bulky not for me , thanks for showing
When the scope fell you could hear in the wife’s gasp that she knew how much you just paid for that 😂😂😂😂
That was my daughter but yeah that was pretty funny! That was exactly what she was thinking, also!
Wow! I could buy a 2nd-hand car for this price. I'll just have to stick with my red dot. These are big boys toys in my mind. Just sayin...
One could argue that the crossbow itself is a big boy toy, really...
@@Deathbybunjie I hear you! And in certain instances, you are perfectly correct. Particularly when it comes down to gadgets and accessories for crossbows. However, remember your channel is being watched by an international audience and not just by Americans. This means, that most international viewers live in countries with little to no access to firearms, unlike our American brothers and sisters who have their rights enshrined in law. For just the price of this sight alone, one could probably buy 2-3 decent quality crossbows.
I have the Eotech Xbox reddit with a 3x magnifier...... the hash markings are odd yardage base on your speed bolt, so it's kinda weird yet makes me memorizes the ballistics or a cheat sheet card.... but no rangefinder...... makes me wanting this real real bad... but the size it super huge(long)...
You need to give your daughter the new scope and new crossbow and you use the old one. See what she thinks I bet she would like that.
Call me cheap but $1,000 is a bit much for me to spend on the scope
They're 799 now, I totally agree though, but I think over time they will just get cheaper and cheaper
